Kent was not only the best cost, but offered the highest quality services and the least obtrusive process. The newly refaced cabinets make a huge difference, and I am sure they have increased our property value. Kent was easy to work with, the process was easy, he was committed to quality, and had no hidden costs. He did an excellent job and we couldn't be happier with the service - top recommendation.
Description of Work: Refaced all cabinets in small/medium kitchen; includes 1/4-inch solid wood on frames plus new doors and custom stain, new drawer fronts, tip drawer on sink, soft-close doors.

+ -1 moreI cannot say enough good things about Kent and High Country Refacing. He is a true craftsman and his work is impeccable. He was professional and a pleasure to work with. He offered suggestions that were very helpful in making our design decisions and was patient with us when we had a difficult time deciding on color. He was always on time and there were no delays in completing the work. We did a lot of research before deciding to reface vs. new cabinets, restaining or painting. I am so glad we chose refacing because 1) the kitchen was usable throughout the project (five days was all it took) and 2) now it looks like the cabinets are brand new--well they are except the insides! And the end result exceeded our expectations--they are gorgeous. I highly recommend High Country Refacing. You will not be disappointed in the quality of the work or the value for the price. Like I said in the beginning, Kent is a true craftsman.

+ -1 moreWent very well. He was on time every day or told us in advance when he would be late. He thought it might take 9 days but he finished in 7. There was one piece of plywood on an end panel that we did not like (grain was pretty wild) after it was stained. Kent, without hesitation, took it out and replaced it. The price was less than half what Home Depot estimated and, as stated, what Kent did is far beyond what HD would have done. Plus Kent gave us the custom look. He makes the doors and drawers fit exactly (larger than stock cabinets) to look like custom cabinets. In the end the kitchen looks great. Looks like all new cabinets!
Description of Work: Redid a very large kitchen (44 doors, 25 drawers) in 7 days. What he does is a step beyond what most refinishers do. Most sand and then stain the existing frame. Kent has a process where he covers the frame with 1/4" stock (cherry in our case) then stains and varnishes it in place. Looks great We had him add roll out drawers to some cabinets. He replaced corbels to match. He totally replaced a bookcase on the end of the lower cabinets to get it to match. Don't think there is anything he can't do. He does all the work himself including making the doors and drawer fronts.

+ -1 moreI found Kent on Angie's list and called him to give me a bid on kitchen cabinet refacing. Kent was very professional and answered all my questions. I replaced several cabinets with roll out shelves which I love. I had a desk with cabinet above that he replaced for me. He replaced the desk with a full cabinet under the countertop, and he built a new cabinet above that was bigger than the one I had and it turned out great. Much more space than I had before. I had a range fan above the stove and wanted to replace that with a microwave so he made a smaller cabinet above to accomodate it. I couldn't have picked a better person to update the look of my kitchen. What a difference it made. Better than I had imagined. I would have no problem recommending him to others and already have.
Description of Work: Full Kitchen cabinet refacing with new doors and drawer facing. Also new roll out shelves, Lazy Susan, and drawer boxes.

Owner, Kent Tullis, came to our house to show samples of his cabinets, woods available, stains, etc. He gave us an estimate on the spot. There was no sales pitch---just a very good business approach to what he could accomplish and within what time frame. He was easy to contact, punctual and very personable. We choose shaker cabinets with a golden oak stain. The finished product is really beautiful.
Description of Work: Kitchen cabinet refacing for a 1970's kitchen. Kent customized our cabinets within his estimated price and time frame. If we were to rate his services, it would have to be an A+. The results were excellent and the cabinets look very professional in style and quality.

+ -1 moreKent at High Country is a true craftsman. He makes all of his cabinet doors by hand and his ttention to detail, quality and workmanship is top notch. We refaced a large kitchen with over 50 cabinets and drawers, a built-in desk, a peninsula, etc., he didn't cut corners and was a joy to work with. The cabinets look better than if they were store bought. I highly recommend this company and would absolutely use it again.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen cabinet reface in cherry wood; new hinges and handles; repair 2 drawers; and remove and re-design former compactor space.

He even worked in a few little extras like fixing broken cabinet floor and changing drawer size that we were in need of. I thought the price was very good and we couldn't be happier with the new look. I would definitely call on High Country Refacing if I ever need a resurfacing again.

+ -1 moreOur condo in Keystone had builder grade cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. We wanted to upgrade the cabinets to something more up to date and get away from the stock builder grade that was used in all of the condo units in the building. The cabinet boxes themselves were in very good condition, but looked dated. Kent met us in Keystone and he recommended we replace the cabinet doors and drawer fronts with a mission style. We went with this option and while Kent was there, we asked him to give us an estimate on refacing and replacing the doors to the murphy bed enclosure. The total cost of both was very reasonable and we ended up having Kent do both projects. Kent took all of the cabinet measurements while we were there and was able to fit us into his schedule within two weeks. All of the work was completed in two days. The difference from the old cabinets to the new updated cabinets was like night and day. Kent was able to match exactly the existing stain and finish of the kitchen and bathroom vanity cabinets. The murphy bed enclosure turned out out beatifully. Now our condo stands out from all of the other units in our building. We were so happy with the work Kent did in our condo that we had him update the bar cabinets in our family room at our primary residence. Again Kent's work is meticulous and his craftsmanship is perfect. We definately recommend Kent to anyone looking to update their cabinets.

+ -1 moreKent came up to give us the estimate and we immediately knew we had found the right guy. We had two other bids from larger, more advertised companies and felt like we were just another bid in their busy day. He's a small shop, but that's exactly why you feel like there is no other client but you. And it helps to explain why he was so much lower than the other bids. When it came time for the install, he showed up when he said he would and knocked it out in two long days. Very clean - he went to great pains to do his cutting outside to lessen the impact on us. When he was done, the end result was even prettier than we had imagined. That old European white look is now a beautiful natural finish cherry, showing off the most interesting grain patterns. Description of Work: Kent Tullis came to our home twice to consult with us regarding the style of doors and the wood we wanted him to use. At first we thought we wanted oak but after thinking about it for a few days, we decided that really wasn't the look we wanted. He was very patient and stained a couple of wood samples so we could choose just the look we wanted. We chose alder wood with cherry stain with no pulls on the drawers or doors. The doors and drawer fronts are solid wood. Kent also used 1/4 inch solid wood between all the doors and drawers as well as on the sides of the cabinets, the trim at the top of the cabinets and the kick plates below the cabinets. The quarter-rounds at the base of the cabinets are also solid wood. Kent removed all the "cheapy" old hinges and replaced them with high-quality concealed hinges. He made the panels in front of the sink tip-out drawers and added a new drawer beneath the oven. Kent also refaced the cabinet doors in all three of our bathrooms as well as replacing all of the window ledges throughout our entire house. Kent was meticulous in his craftsmanship. Everything was kept clean and neat during the entire week that he was working in our home. And over a year later we are still thrilled with the look and quality of everything he did for us.
