Terrible. They never showed up, then called and told me to find someone else to do it. I had arranged with my HOA, dug up the water valve outside, placed flyers on everyones doors to tell them that the water would be shut off, found a pet-sittter, and they blew me off. Then made it sound like I messed up somehow. NEVER AGAIN!

A piece of flex duct had pulled away from the ceiling register box and heat from the furnace was just blowing into the attic. The flex duct piece was just too short to stay attached to the register. Called Downs Mechanical and they worked me into the schedule later that day. Rick, their HVAC guy, came and fixed the problem with a sheet metal elbow. The duct work was incompetently installed when the house was built 25 years ago and I will probably have more issues with the duct work in the future. I will definitely call Downs Mechanical again when I have any issues with my HVAC. They were very accommodating and very reasonable. No reason to call anyone else.

Downs Mechanical Heating and Plumbing did a great job repairing my in floor radiant heating system. The problem was with balanced pressure in our heating system. Water and glycol were leaking out of the system every time it ran. I got an estimate from a different company to do the work. That company charged nearly $400 for the estimate and did nothing to help with the problem. That company's estimate was over $5,000. Wanting a second opinion, I found Downs Mechanical on Angie's List and decided to give them a try. The tech responded quickly, replaced out several valves and rebalanced the system. The cost was $650. I called back two weeks after the work was done as there was still a little water coming out of the overflow. Bill, the owner of Downs Mechanical, personally came out and fine tuned the system. He did this at no cost. It is a relief to find honesty and integrity in this valley at an reasonalbe price.

I would use them in the future.

Called Downs Mechanical in Edwards around 10am and the owner Bill was here by noon as promised. This was in January, busy season for plumbers. Asked him to put me on his list for annual maintenance. A plumber I will look forward to seeing again.

It went very well. They were very efficient. The price was fair. The first one they put in didn't work, and they replaced it with a new one at no additional costs.

Bill and everyone at Downs Mechanical were very professional and did a great job repairing the water pipe leak in my ceiling. The repair job also fixed the drywall and ceiling and they matched up the paint and popcorn ceiling to look as if it never happened!

Issue was fixed by replacing auto vent.

Bill helped get the most appropriate indirect heater for us, and was very responsive in doing the work. It was done quickly and efficiently at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. Our boiler has had issues for quite a while which other contractors couldn't solve. Bill's guy worked hard to solve it, solved it, and did so professionally and at a reasonable price.

The problem was extremely simple and the contractor showed up, told us what was needed and referred us to another appropriate contractor. Extremely professional! Highly recommend.

I called Downs Mechanical after seeing the good reviews on Angie's List. It is very difficult to get good service in this area and when the pilot light on my boiler went out unexpectedly I was resigned to use a company I had used previously that I did not have confidence in. A technician was able to come out within a few hours of my call and relit my pilot light in a few minutes. Unfortunately, the fix did not hold and a follow up visit several weeks later was required to replace a part which then resolved the problem. Like the first one, this second service call was able to be scheduled within the same day that I called.

We noticed a leak in the mechanical room for a property we take care of. We called several plumbing companies and they responded right away and send out a technician the same day. He inspected the system and determined what the problem was. He made a temporary fix and then returned the next day to repair the system. He was very nice and explained what the problem was and gave us several options to fix the issue. He gave us the different costs and then let us choose what we wanted to do. Even though he ran into some issues along the way the work was completed quickly and he was very fair with the charges. Over all we are extremely satisfied with the work done and have had no issues.

I called and left a message originally and got a quick call back and the repairman showed up within 2 hours but it was a Saturday so no parts could be found before Monday. The part was expensive (I'm sure I paid "list"price), but I had heat again.

We had a loss of hot water. We checked Angies List and called Bill Downs. He was able to come immediately to access the situation. We had two hot water heaters in a crawl space. One was not working at all and the other was barely working. There were problems with the electricity and the wall had to be opened up to gain access to the space. New water heaters were ordered and they had to be a special size that could not be purchased locally. The new heaters arrived within a day or two and were installed. An electrician had to do some rewiring and a builder had to repair the entrance to the crawl space. All was done efficiently and the cost of all services was very fair.
