We had a custom home built by Hamer and Sons, who we've known the family for years. Several people in the community tried to keep us from hiring them. We moved into our home in Dec 2011, but have had continual problems structurally. Currently the ceiling is separating from the walls in several locations. The foundation is settling to the point he have major cracks in the sheetrock at the corner of three doors and a noticeable gap between the floor and base trim. Exterior doors are hard to close and may be due to using a 2 x 4 header. We been promised since moving in they would replace the entrance door to garage due to major gap that you can see through at the bottom. The door is out of square and out of level. Several interior doors will not latch. A major crack, not a surface crack, is in the garage concrete floor. The concrete pad outside the garage is now 2” above garage floor. Concrete sidewalk to main entrance had to be replaced at our expense because it was separating. Found minimum gage wire mesh sitting on the bottom. The stucco sub-contractor who is a friend told us what he billed the contractor. We were billed an additional $9,000. We have continually tried to work with the Hamer’s to get things fixed. When they do respond, they basically put a Band-Aid over the problem. We are now being ignored, so we are hiring a structural engineering firm and a structural lawyer. The youngest son is an exceptional carpenter. His father and grandfather are burnt out in the trade and their works shows it. Though a good family, I would not recommend their company for any future builds.

Very good at listening to what my needs are. Show up when they say that they will. Very patient with changes. Honest. They will tell you if something is not going right. Quality work. If they mess up a quote they eat it. Clean up is excellent. I can't say enough good about them. I haven't had anything that I have been unhappy with. If there is anything that I'm not happy with they correct it right away. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
