Description of Work: Joe Bob is an artist who uses his considerable talent to build rock walls and decorative rock landscapes. He is a perfectionist, and his work shows it. We would recommend him highly. For us, he built a two-tier retaining wall as one project, and a single-tier retaining wall on a second project. Both required use of a mini-excavator, which should give an idea of just how large were the rocks (aka boulders) that he was placing. His attention to form and fit, using a laser level, and taking care to adjust each rock to connect as seamlessly as possible was remarkable. He backfilled the retaining walls, and on one, laid down a protective liner, and finished with an overcoat of fine gravel. Turned a useless downhill area into a magnificent outdoor area.

 + 1 moreEarth Art are artists. They used laser sighting equipment to insure that the construction was flat and balanced. They took extreme care to position rock interaces, minimizing the size of joints, rather than simply pushing rocks together. Each level of a terrace was recessed slightly to enhance the overall appearance of the structure, and prevent any possibility of "leaning" of the wall. The result was far beyond our expectations and we will rely on Earth Art in the future when other project work of this size warrants.
Description of Work: Earth Art developed a landscaping plan to transform the steep hillside around our house into a beautiful terraced rock garden that complimented the "look and feel" of our home. Boulders (not small garden rocks) were taken from other areas of our property, or imported when necessary to create two terraced areas. One was approximately 15 feet high, 100 feet wide. The other was about 6 feet high, 75 feet wide. The large rocks were carefully fitted and stacked to resemble a natural stone ledge. Each terrace has a well-constructed and stable stone stairway to make it easy to climb and traverse. After construction of the terraced, the areas behind each wall were backfilled with topsoil and graded flat. Small chat was distributed to construct pathways along the walls.
