Horrible
Description of Work: UPDATE on the review that I wrote for last year. We were getting some pressure leaks in the home water system. The work that Jim did from last year is STILL haunting us. Instead of installing a new whole house pressure valve, he decided to rebuild the old unit and charged us by the hour. In the long run it would have been cheaper to put in a new one; the one he "rebuilt" wasn't working and our house had 160 lbs/in2 rather than the 35-50 that we should have. This is at the limit that the system can take; I'd like to use some "choice" words here, but suffice to say he nearly created a major plumbing problem for us if the pipes had burst while we were away! Additionally, when he re-plumbed some piping to the house, he DID NOT USE COPPER, he didn't even use GALVANIZED pipe! So, we had rust beginning to build up in the pipes! FOR YOUR OWN GOOD - DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER - PERIOD!

.It did not go well Mr stewart installed a part that had nothing to do with the leak
Description of Work: I called on a Monday,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and was not called back till Wed. Jim called at 11:30 and said he would be there in an hour to an hour and a half. He showed up at 3:30 He never just turned on the water to see where it was leaking and left at 5:30 telling me I could use my sink but not the dishwasher. It leaked all over the floor again and a friend suggested I call a different plumber. I did and the new one diagnosed and fixed the leak in 1/2 hour.I

Bottom line DO NOT HIRE JIM STEWART OR DURANGO HEATING AND PLUMBING!
Description of Work: (1) We have a boiler and it started leaking from the heat exchanger unit; Jim Stewart claims to be a "specialist" in boilers in the yellow pages, so we called him to come out and work on the boiler. (2) We called him in the morning (Monday) and he said he would be at the house at 2:30pm; he arrived at 4:30pm (said he was late because he had to run some errands). (3) By 6:30pm he had shut off the main water valve to the house because he wanted to change the plumbing design as it came into the house; however, by 9:30pm he realized that he couldn't finish that evening and so he left us without water that night. He said he was missing ONE fitting (didn't have it on his truck - which was a complete mess; he spent WAY too much time looking for OLD parts to use - a complete WASTE of time!). I hesitate to state this, but I believe it to be true. Jim also took a "drink" while in his truck "taking apart" a Pressure Relief Valve; I also over heard him tell someone he was talking to on the cell phone that he had already had "a cocktail" tonight - totally unacceptable! My wife said I should have fired hire right then and there (she was right, I should have). (4) Jim made no effort to get back to us first thing in the morning Tuesday. In fact, after a phone call, he said he would be there around 1:30pm. Nevertheless, even though we didn't have water, he showed up at 3:30pm! (Late again, because he said he had to pick up a trailer; in the meantime we were still without any water - very little concern for the customer!). I was not happy. He then changed the plumbing design for the in-coming water line (again) and still didn't address the plumbing leak that we asked him to come and look at! Finally, in the evening, he adjusted some of the settings on the boiler itself, tightened some plumbing fittings on the "heat exchanger", replaced the relief valve on top of the boiler (with an OLD relief valve - NOT a new one), and then left. (5) Soon after he left, the "heat exchanger" still leaked (after it filled up; he drained it to work on it). (6) I called him and told him it (the heat exchanging) was still leaking. (7) Bottom line, he came back twice more (in the days that followed), drained the heat exchanger, tightened another plumbing fitting; put the heat exchanger back in and left. It still leaked; this went on until FRIDAY night and we still DID NOT HAVE ANY HOT WATER. We paid him FRIDAY night and he left KNOWING (in my opinion) that the heat exchanger was still leaking. He never called to find out if his last "fix" worked! Terrible customer service! He really overcharged us for the hours he worked; he was slow, deliberate and wasted hours! (8) MONDAY morning we called another plumber (recommended by a colleague) and a plumber from his company (AAA Plumbing and Heating) came out Monday and replaced the heat exchanger Monday morning, and did a very professional job - but cost us another $2700. (See my other review on this company - which I highly recommend). When I first spoke with the owner of AAA Plumbing on the phone and told him who had been working on our plumbing issue (i.e., Jim Stewart), his first response was "run as fast as you." I should have!
