Unique Heating and Air Conditioning

It was on a Sunday and a technician came out about an hour after I called. The weekend office person I spoke with was very friendly and assured she had correct address and phone number. The technician very respectful and able to not only fix our problem of following instructions for re-lighting furnace yet not being aware of other important details not on instructions and taught us the need to keep hot water setting at 1 point lower than the highest not only for safety but easier re-lighting take.

On 5.31.17 I got an email from my tenants that the A/C was just blowing hot air. I immediately called Unique to get on there schedule, as I knew they would be busy with the heat Denver was getting. They were finally able to get out over a week later, to evaluate the problem. The tech was supposed to be by in a AM window, and by afternoon I still had heard any thing back and called the secretary at Unique several times trying to get answers? Finally in the early evening I got a call from Adam Torrez, saying he needed to get one of his "Senior Techs" to figure out what was going on. The new tech came by the next day and said that "there was a leak coming from the king valves on the condenser, and it had nothing to do with the work that was done on the coil a few months ago." I was furious. I tried to tell them that the last tech had detected a leak, and said it wasn't a problem. It didn't matter to them. I was told there was nothing they could do. The freon had leaked out of the condenser and was like a engine running with out oil, it needed to be replaced. It had nothing to do with the coil, that they replaced. Adam finally said he would replace the condenser for a discounted price of only $2,200.59. I was able to get the condenser replaced for $2,000.0 with another company. When I tried to get my money back for the warranty. Adam Torrez was rude, insulating, and accused me of turning down the work to fix the leak his tech told me about. After multiple emails with Adam Torrez, he agreed to pay for the labor of $401.00 and that I would still pay for the coil at $985.00. I said I would pay for the coil, but only at cost, (which at whole sale the coil is close to $500). and only a 10% mark up, not 88% mark up. Due to his breach of contract and negligence on the work preformed. He replied: Mike, I Am done with this conversation. Your NOT gonna sit here and try to tell me what i am and am NOT going to refund you when this is not our problem in the first place i was being generous by trying to work with you to help you out. The Condenser had Nothing to do with our coil installation...... As of now i am not refunding you anything there is to be no further contact in this matter do what you feel you need to do and we will go from there! I'm having to take him to small claims court. Avoid working with this company. -Mike Klepper
