Very expensive. $600/hr labor cost. Just got a quote today for plumbing and electrical. 2 days of electrical work quoted for $10,000. 4 days of plumbing work quoted for $20,000 Cost of materials is for all work combined is probably $1,000. Roughly that makes $600/hr. That is simply outrageous.

Tipping Hat came to our home for a routine cleaning and destroyed our furnace. Literally cut and sawed it into pieces and illegally disconnected. Then they took our heat exchanger from the unit and filled it with water using scare tactics that our furnace was leaking carbon monoxide even though our detectors indicated no evidence of this. They then tried to upsell us a new furnace and AC when both were working perfectly before they arrived. Two independent HVAC contractors are willing to testify that our furnace cannot be put back together and needed to now be replaced after they DESTROYED it. We are now out 8600.00 and have to replace our furnace after scheduling a cleaning. They are dishonest and fraudulent in their practices.
Description of Work: They were supposed to clean our units but just decided to saw one into pieces and disconnect everything. Now we need a replacement. Tried to upsell us a new furnace and AC and scare us by telling us we were leaking carbon monoxide.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! An elderly friend whose heating had gone out asked me to help her get it repaired...I called 4 companies to come take a look...Tipping Hat was the first to show up...the service tech was pleasant...inspected the unit and told me that it could not be repaired...so I asked him to give us an estimate for replacement...he told me that he had to call a "salesman" to come and do that...so he made the call...it was about 30 minutes before the sales person AMBER HARGROVE arrived...she was confrontational and abrasive from the start...using every possible avenue to try to get us to sign a contract...I explained that we were getting multiple bids and would make a decision within the next few days...clearly agitated that we would not purchase she finally left...fast forward a couple of days...I am at my neighbors working on a repair project...hear a knock...it is two Jefferson County Deputies...AMBER HARGROVE has called the Sheriffs department and filed a report of "Elder Abuse"...told them that I was abusing my friend, and that I was stealing her home!!! Told them that I was purchasing her home for $75K and kicking her out!!! The salesman from Tipping Hat in retaliation for not buying a furnace from her has filed a false police report knowing full well that by law they must investigate the claim!!! As a result Adult Protective Services has to get involved, and my friend is in the process of having to retain an attorney to represent her during the investigation!!! My friend which lives on a fixed income now has to pay for a new furnace, and figure out how she is going to pay for her legal cost as a result fo the Tipping Hat salesman AMBER HARGROVE lying to police and filing a false report! In addition to the financial burden, the emotional aspect has been devastating...my friend is terrified that this woman may be doing even more to retaliate against her! BE CAREFUL USING THIS COMPANY! IF THESE ARE THE TYPES OF PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE HIRING TO REPRESENT THEM, YOU DO NOT WANT THEM ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME! We did have 3 other companies come to the home...ALL of their salesmen were unbelievably professional, honest, and did their best to help my friend find the best solution...I would highly recommend 1) Mac-ViK, Alan Snyman 720-926-1535, 2) Efficient Comfort, Dan Lewis 720-724-1648, or 3) Plumbline, Jay Sohn 720-703-5041

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We're currently in legal proceedings with them when they came out to do a "routine maintenance" on our boiler (that they suggested while giving us a quote for an AC replacement) and then broke our fully functioning boiler and then requested additional funds to fix it (which we paid and they DIDN'T fix it!). The person that performed the service is also no longer with the company but they refuse to give us our money back and their only additional resolution was to purchase an entirely new boiler from them for over $20K!!! SCAM ARTISTS! There are plenty of other reviews here and elsewhere that confirm what I'm saying and I only wish I had done more research before even agreeing to a routine maintenance with them. We luckily had 2 other trustworthy and reputable companies come out and they fixed the problem. We're out the money that Tipping Hat scammed us for and the money we had to pay the other company to actually fix the boiler that Tipping Hat broke and our legal fees. Don't make the mistake that we did!!!

They were scheduled to snake my sewer drain. Canceled on me last minute. Made excuses for not coming. Called 2 other plumbers that had no issues about doing service call. But now I have to wait another day after already waiting 4 days. Unprofessional and undependable..0 stars!!! 3 plumbers, my septic service said I do no need to be pumped with just water and 1 person in household!! I lost money from work, scheduling with them!! Negative stars!!

While there were some challenges with individuals on this project and it went over on its schedule, we are ultimately very happy with the quality and price of this installation. While Elizabeth wasn't on the actual installation team, she was a key team member in helping us discuss the financing of this project. She was fantastic and a true asset to this organization. The project manager was a wonderful salesperson, but left a little lacking in overall communication of project progress. I also wanted to note that Tipping Hat did cover the repair when the electrician had to unexpectedly put a hole in our drywall. It took some prodding on our part, but they did follow through. Finally, they did a wonderful job of the removal of our swamp cooler which was included in the price of the AC installation.

It didn't. I waited several hours for my appointment. I talked with a dispatcher a couple of times and exchanged text messages a couple of times. At no time was I told that, since I rent, I would need landlord permission. When the techs arrived, I was then informed. They tried calling my landlord, but were unsuccessful at reaching him. So now, I've wasted several hours and still don't have my sink cleared.

On August 20, 2020, Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric was hired to replace my A/C and furnace at my property. I am dissatisfied with this company for the following reasons: 1. Tipping Hat neglects all administrative functions. A. I had to remind the salesman of his quoted price. He “forgot” that he offered a $1500 discount. B. Tipping Hat applied for the wrong permit valuation amount. The accounting department undervalued the permit valuation by $3,920. C. On the date of installation, Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric provided me with an AHRI certificate that outlines the wrong evaporator coil serial number. Additionally, Tipping Hat completed Xcel Energy's Rebate application on my behalf with the incorrect information. No explanation has been provided as to what equipment was originally outlined. D. My invoice states that Equipment Make (3) is noted as Rheem equipment, but an ADP Evaporator Coil was installed. 2. Tipping Hat fails to fulfill its contractual obligations A. On August 18, 2020, I was promised the installation measurements. It has been two months, and I have not received the measurements. B. Denver’s Development Services website states, “Before you begin construction, you need to be sure your project complies with the Denver Zoning Code. This applies to zoning limits where an outdoor A/C unit may be located on your property.” I asked Ken Kutsch, Vice President, before the installation, if a Zoning Permit was required for my job and Ken Kutsch told me over email that, “Denver would not allow us to pull a zoning permit for this heating and cooling application.” Additionally, Erin Eastwood, Finance Manager, reviewed my question and did confirm that my job does not require this permit. Erin informed the CPC City Inspector that she has"...never had to pull a zoning permit for an A/C in all my years doing this.” On September 10, 2020, I received a violation stating I violated the Denver Zoning Code of the City and County of Denver for, “59-26(d) Structure erected without a permit. The A/C unit on the north side of the house is in the north side setback and would need a zoning permit/review before installation.” On October 7, 2020, Tipping Hat started the process of pulling the zoning permit, as their contract states they will obtain on my behalf; however, did not consult with me about the relocation of the unit. I have requested three times to be cc’d in all correspondence and my requests have not been fulfilled. C. Tipping Hat’s contract states, "Installed by Licensed Tech." I have requested the licensure of the technicians (apprenticeship, journeyman, supervisor’s license) and have not been provided with that information. The lead technician on my invoice is listed as Brad; however, Brad was not present during the installation. The technicians were Jake Belt and Alden Dunham. D. The electrical work was subcontracted to Elsco Electrical & Lighting Services Company LLC. There was no discussion around subcontracted work and Elsco Electrical & Lighting Services Company LLC’s contractor status is about to expire (10/31/2020). E. Tipping Hat’s contract states, “Some companies cut corners by not pulling a permit or by not replacing auxiliary parts with your installation, whatever the case may be it’s important to know what you are getting.” Not only did they cut corners with the administrative oversight, but they also substituted the Rheem equipment with an ADP Evaporator Coil without informing me. F. Tipping Hat’s contract states, “If you disagree, if you do not like the products or systems, or feel it was installed poorly, we will make it right or if we can’t agree we’ll give you all your money back, no questions asked.” I have expressed numerous times (via phone and email) that the unit was installed poorly. Here’s why: 1. I was told to replace my working furnace (installed in 2014) because it is not properly filtrated, needs to be rotated 180°, and to comply with HVAC best practices manufacturers should match. Not only does the configured filter cabinet not properly filter, but it is also in an inaccessible location and sharp sheet metal edges are exposed. Additionally, the unit occupies the same location and the manufacturers do not match. I requested to speak to the salesperson to discuss the discrepancies, and he is no longer employed with the company. 2. The installation has failed inspection due to, “no combustion air, and flue increases lap going the wrong direction. Furnace/water heater must be vented correctly.” No attempt has been made to correct. 3. I have been without heat since August 20, 2020. When I went to turn on my newly installed furnace during the snowstorm, it does not work due to the following error message, “A045_F Inducer Lo Pressure Switch Won’t Close.” No attempt has been made to correct. 4. Martin, the unlicensed HVAC field manager, identified a gas leak on October 16, 2020, from the furnace, which has been leaking since the date of installation. 3. The customer service has been extremely dissatisfactory. A. Throughout the installation, the technicians were complaining about being over-worked and poor management. Additionally, during a pandemic, they were inconsistent about wearing masks. B. In an attempt to come to a resolution, Ken Kutsch sent Martin, the HVAC field manager, to my residence on October 16, 2020. Martin was not informed of the scenario and came to my house unprepared. With Martin’s agreement, I recorded the conversation because of my experience thus far with Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric. Martin took pictures of the installation and the proposed location to comply with the zoning ordinance and assured me that, “He will do everything in his power to make it right.” I received a phone call from Ken Kutsch after Martin left my residence and he continuously referred to my concerns as “demands” and continuously said my behavior was aggressive. Ken will connect with the team on Monday, October 19 to provide solutions to “my demands.” Who knew an A/C installation would take two months to complete? C. President Phillip Eastwood states, “A man is as good as his word. So this means - no risk, you can’t lose! You have my word.” I have requested to speak to him numerous times and my request has gone unanswered.

Due 2 Virus, they had 2 reschedule with different crew from Wednesday to Saturday. Unfortunately, the installation crew hooked up safety device 2 Furnace, not new outside AC Condenser. Great AC 4 7 days, then no AC during July 4th weekend 90’s outside & 80’s inside. Due to National Holiday, Tipping Hat did not get back 2 us until Monday, but response from Offices were great & Technician fixed AC in 15 minutes Tuesday afternoon. Unless something else occurs, We would use them again.

It went horrible! I was very impressed with initial contact. Then a referred supervisor came out to give a FREE quote. I was given a quote for over $10,000. I asked the professional if the unit suggested was a 80% or 96% AFUE? He said, "80%." I also asked him if the unit was a "single stage" or a "two stage." He said, "single." Then I asked him why was he selling my elderly mom an Reheem inferior unit for a superior price. He said, "I gave you a good quote. Everyone around here will give you the same quote." I said, "just because you feel you gave me a great quote doesn't mean you're not ripping me off. Then the word game began between he and I. It was clear my questions unnerved him. People in Denver/Metro aren't researching product and are being ripped off by professionals such as this because they are reassured they are getting an excellent deal! And! To make matters worse they have the consumer at a disadvantage and they know it! His blanket statement clearly stated each Heating and Plumbing company are running a racket and they take FULL advantage of people in vulnerable positions!

They quoted approximately $1,400 to do the work and part of the work was literally a $5 part. He also said I needed to have the city come out and turn off the water, which as a part of an HOA would have shut off the water to 8 houses for like 2 hours, which I found out was not necessary through a different plumber. I'm glad I got a different recommendation and used a different plumber for the work.

Tipping hat has talented employees that do safe, clean, and complete work! I highly recommend them! We are no longer cold in our house thanks to Mark J, and service pros Jeremy D and David B. Mark J. the supervisor on our furnace installation project was the first person we met from Tipping Hat. He is kind, understanding and respectful. He took time to thoroughly examine our complicated and difficult heating situation and was able to explain what needed to be done and why. All of our questions were promptly answered, he was always available for a phone call and put extra effort into creating a plan and setting up a team to get started on our project right away. Mark was considerate of our feelings, always reassuring us and promptly addressing all of our concerns. Jeremy D. Tipping Hat's Service Pro, provided extraordinary service during the installation of our new furnace! He is punctual, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We were comfortable with him in our home, as he took great care installing our new thermostat and kindly showed us how to use it. Jeremy was very patient and took time to answer all of our questions. He went above and beyond to ensure that we received exactly what we needed AND he saw to it that the work was up to code and done properly! We are so appreciative of his compassionate understanding of our situation and his prompt completion of a large, heavy duty job that required hours of hard labor. Tipping Hat's Service Pro, David B. was able to complete work on the installation of our furnace in some really tight spaces. He had to deal with a tiny, dirt crawl space underneath the house and was able to re-attach ducts to the vents in our home. He was positive, pleasant and hard working. I feel confident referring others to Jeremy D, David B, and their Supervisor, Mark J.

The service reps must be based on commission. I was told I had a leak in my coil without any proof and said that I either needed to replace my coil or replace the whole unit. The unit is only 5 years old. In addition, I was told that the rust in the tray of my AC unit meant I had a leak in the coil. The representative could not clearly explain what was wrong or prove what the issue was. Just a poor explanation and scare tactic warning me my AC unit would leak into my furnace. I decided to receive a second opinion. It is a good thing I did because not only would a perfectly good coil and AC unit be wasted, I would have way overpaid for a problem that wouldn't actually have been solved. The coils were vacuumed upon the work that was done and therefore it would be impossible to reach a pressure level with the vacuum process. I DON'T have a leak in my COIL. DO NOT USE Tipping Hat. I'm not sure if all their service techs are like this but if you incent for services through compensation it makes sense they will try to pull out all stops to get you to pay large sums of money to correct undiagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed problems. BE AWARE!!!!! I decided to

Initial onsite visit was a No-Show. There were 5 additional No-Shows on appointments that they made with me. Was initially told that the Job would take 1 day. After 8 days of making appointments, Not finishing the work and No-shows -- I finally gave up and did the work myself. Multiple miscommunications with the Scheduling staff. Even got called and accuse of not paying the bill when I had never received a bill and the work was not complete. The wiring was done incorrectly 3 times -- Tried to turn off the lights in the house and for 3 circuits the lights would not turn off (incorrect wiring of a ground). The Techs told me it was probably my dimmer switches --- I told them that I didn't have any dimmer switches (ON/OFF) only but the lights would not turn off. They came back for the third time and fixed 2 of the circuits but 2 additional circuits were not working properly. I purchased a circuit wiring checker and checked all of my outlets in the house to find that 1/3 of them showed that the wires were connected incorrectly. I called them and told them that the wiring was done wrong. They came out one last time (6th time) and said everything was OK. Lights still would not go out (Only Dim) and the Wall outlets still showed that they were wired incorrectly. Luckily My father was an electrician in the Navy and did a good job of teaching me about house wiring. It took me an hour to locate the Mis-wired circuits and correct them. For two of the circuits the Hot and Common Wires were connected to the wrong terminals. How can an Electrician that does this for a living make these kinds of mistakes 6 times in a row.

These people are crooks! First, they didn't do the work when we set the appointment. We thought they were actually going to replace my p-trap and drain, and they were also supposed to run a snake where we couldn't reach. All Kieth did was give us the quote and make another appointment for the next day, which was less convenient. He promised to come do the work, but he was absent. They said he was sick, but I'm actually doubting that now. They sent a young guy who hadn't been given the whole story, and was not prepared to either camera or snake down the line, which was supposed to happen first per Kieth. He just set about replacing the p-trap and drain, so I called the office to send a guy with a camera and snake. When Liberty finally arrived, he put a camera down the line, and declared that there was mud stopping it. He showed me a tiny picture on the screen. He said that "100%", that this was the case, and it was going to cost me $4,800 to replace the line, not including repairing the wall. I said I needed to call insurance, which he discouraged. He also told me not to run water down that line, that it would just go under the house and cause more problems. I didn't listen to him, ultimately, on either count. He also told me that I needed to replace my sewer line, another $16,000, but that that didn't need to be done right away... I told them to stop work on the p-trap and drain, which they refused to do. They completed that, and I paid them, though I was not happy. I called a few other plumbers, and frankly, none of them believed that that pipe was broken. I had probably 7 conversations with a co-owner of this business, Ken. When I said I wanted a video of my pipe, it turned out that Liberty hadn't actually taken any video. Ken said they'd give me a video once they did the work (wrong answer). I said I wanted to get a 2nd opinion. Ken said he'd send another of his guys. (That is NOT a 2nd opinion)! He later called me back and offered me free services. But by then, I figured out this must be a scam, and would not invite them back. Later that day, with the help of another plumber, we ran the shower, and it flowed just fine, so we began to suspect that whatever had been blocking the drain, had been set straight either by Liberty's camera pushing it through, or by the replacement of the p-trap. But, this man didn't have a camera to check. Since then, I had an independent company, Hydro Physics, come and video both lines. Both are fine. Neither needs replacing, just as I suspected! Tipping Hat thought they could get away with this scam, which I now hear, happens a lot, and not just with these guys. Tipping Hat also employs, it seems, quite a few out of state plumbers that they've recruited. All three of the plumbers who came to my house were from out of state. Oh, and lastly, Liberty ranted about how "all" Colorado plumbers were bad, handymen, untrained. That is SO not true. He also said it was a bad idea to clean out the sewer drain every year to keep out roots, another false statement. You do need to be careful, no matter who you call, and always try to get a second opinion, preferably from a company that doesn't gain by up-selling you! I ended up paying out $300 to Hydro Physics to confirm that Tipping Hat was trying to scam me. But, it was worth it not to pay out $4,800 for the shower drain plus another $16,000 for the sewer line. Beware of this company!

They called the morning of the appointment to confirm, then they called a bit later & left a voice mail to say they can't come out after all. I called back & received their "answering service" (because everyone in the office was at lunch).
