The work done by Tile by Simon was exceptional. We could not have asked for someone more responsive and professional. His responsiveness and finished work were absolutely great. I cannot recommend him enough. We have contracted with him to gut and redo our master bath during the next couple of weeks. We have experienced less than honest and professional work with other contractors. Fortunately, getting the information for Tile by Simon off Angie's list was one of the best decisions we have made in our remodeling efforts. I simply cannot give him enough praise. I am in the service business and his service and work were wonderful. I hope this leads others to use his company!!!

The tile removal in hallway was time consuming, difficult and messy due to how it had been installed with lots of wire mesh underneath. He and helper worked nonstop to get it done. Clean up was really good. Had not planned on retiling laundry but the place where it would have joined was difficult so I decided that in order to really make it look right, it had to be done too. First part was done 6/25 and second part on 7/3. He worked us in and even showed up early. Very satisfied with him, his helper and their work.

Randall was extremely responsive to our request for a quote. He showed up at the time that the appointment was set for and brought in a quote that was hands-down much better compared to the other quotes we received. The work was done at the appointment set with our property manager. The work that was done was high quality completed on the schedule set out between Randall and our PM. We will definitely use him for our other rentals in the future. Look no further for a tile contractor...choose Tile by Simon!

Simon is knowledgeable, experienced and professional. He and his team showed up when they said they would show up, they did what they said they were going to do, they finished the work in a reasonable time, they provided quality work, and Simon's price was reasonable. I would definitely hire again, highly recommended.

I needed work done really fast because decided to put my house on market. I think Simon actually shifted other work around to accommodate my needs. They met my timeline and gave me a beautiful floor. The work quality couldn't be any better. The only issue was very minor. They left my garage floor, which is painted, a little dirty from the tile saw and outside work. I would definitely use them again.

Simon was contracted to demo a shower that was leaking into lower floor, install waterproof board, re-tile shower and engage his resource to reinstall the shower door on an occupied rental unit. I found Tile by Simon here on Angies List and he had numerous positive references. Unfortunately this will not be one of them. Simon was not the lowest bidder at $880 but he was the one who said he had a guy to reinstall the shower door once he was finished with the tile (Lowest bidder was $650). This was important as this is an occupied rental unit and the time the shower could not be used was to be kept to a minimum. In addition to the fact I did not have the time to find and hire a second contractor to reinstall the door. At the time it was worth paying a premium to avoid the hassle. This is where things went wrong with Simon. He arrived and tore out the door and tile, then left me a voicemail while I was out of town that he finally heard back from his door installer and he could not do the work for another 8 days. I returned his call and asked why he started the job without having his guy locked on, because it could have waited until next week and now I have a shower without a door for another 8 days, he responded by saying "I dont like how this conversation is going. Im leaving the job" and instructed his tile guy to start packing up. Torn up shower. Construction debris in the unit. Unusable shower, and total indifference to the problem he was leaving me with. He absolutely did not care. Totally irresponsible and unprofessional. Said it was not "his fault' the guy could not come and "Im not making any money off of him anyway". Well, I would disagree. It is his fault because he owns the company and was hired to do the job because he said he had it all covered and it would be done in 2 days and took the job. He did not bother to make sure he was all set when the start date could have easily been delayed. I actually had to plead with him to not walk off the job and finish the tile work and just leave the door off. I endend up having to contract the door installation myself which took over a week. Very unprofessional and shockingly indifferent to the situation he put us in. Bottom Line: Spent an additional $230 premium over the low bid to avoid the hassle of hiring a second contractor (Wasted money). Had a shower without a door for well over a week. Had to contract a second guy to install the door (Wasted time and additional trips to the property). Had to deal with an unprofessional, irresponsible contractor (Frustration). Would never recommend Tile by Simon to anyone. Not sure how he managed all of those positive reviews on Angies List.

My experience with them was fine. They did a good job and the workmen were good.

Simon showed up 10 minute early and went to work. He told me on the phone the job would take a day, and he was finished by 4:00pm. I ha a mosaic backsplash installed and he just did a great job-it looks fantastic! This is my first time getting a contractor off of Angie's list and I wen with Simon because of all his great reviews. I wasn't disappointed and I would recommend him to everyone.

Simon was very professional from beginning to end! He did a remodel of a master bath. The work was excellent. His staff was very respectful and worked hard to complete on time. Our bathroom looks awesome. We will use Simon in the future! Joe and Debbie

Tile By Simon did a very beautiful job. They were efficient and fast. There were a couple of places where they missed out the plaster in the wall and they had somebody come out afterwards and re-plaster it so he made good on that. The quality of his work was great. He was able to do one part in diagonal and the hallway in a rectangle and so he was able to do exactly what my wife wanted him to do and the finished product looks very good.We have another room where we want the rug ripped off and tiled and we will call them first.

I needed the floor in my laundry room tiled, so I contacted Tile By Simon through their website. I filled out a quote request and never heard back from them. Not sure if my job was to small for them or if their services is so poor that they do not respond. I feel if they have the customer complete a form they should respond back. Other companies do this and their response is immediate.

We needed some expert assistance to get tile re-installed in an old (1956) basement shower. I had done all of the demolition and reconstruction myself, including the installation of some new glass block windows in the shower, and I had discovered how out-of-level and out-of-plumb just about everything was. I knew it was going to be more than I could handle to install tile in any kind of reasonable time frame, and that it would be a challenge even for an experienced pro. Simon (that's his last name, but it is the name his wife calls him) gave us a price and a schedule. The irregularities of the walls presented problems, as I knew they would. It required an extra day of work to make everything look good, but Simon didn't ask for any additional money. He knows his business, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any friends.

I was contacted by Randall Simon the same day that I inquired on Angie's list. He came over the next day to provide an estimate of the work I had planned. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. His quote came back at a very reasonable price. They showed up on time the day they were supposed to and got to work immediately - they barely stopped for lunch! They were very patient with changes made mid project and executed per my request. My bathroom floors and sinks look beautiful now and my fireplace underwent quite a transition. They took an eyesore and transformed it into a work of beauty! The total project took 6 days - a little longer than planned because of my mid project change requests.

The need for this work was discovered through the identification of a leak in the crawlspace which was coming from the master bath shower. The home insurance company had a company come in to dry out the wet floors and the boards in the crawlspace. Once that work was done I contacted Tile by Simon to provide an estimate. During the estimation review of the work, Randall discovered that the shower floor was installed directly over the plywood and did not have the necessary concrete layer nor was the drain pipe installed properly. He correctly assessed all the work to be done and provided an estimate. He also revised the estimate a couple times to meet the requirements of the insurance company. Once that work was then approved, I scheduled the work. The work took several days to complete due to the need for scheduling the plumber and the company for providing the shower door reinstallation. The shower now works properly and I am relieved that the work was completed properly and before any further damage could occur due to the original DIY by the previous homeowner.

Randall was our next door neighbor when hired to perform the work. Each areas tiled, except for 1, have had workmanship issues of varying degrees ("bulging tiles from too much mortar, too much/too little grout, tile cuts, etc). The first issue was the grout work in the master bath (vanity). After completion I brought this to Randall's attention and showed him my concerned areas. "I'll take care of it" was what I heard for 2 years. Last year the master shower grout began to fall out causing water to get behind the tile and the underlayment started to swell. I hired another tile professional to fix the area as it needed to be fixed in a timely manner. The most current issue is in the kitchen. After 2.5 years tiles in this area are loose with grout, in this area, coming up almost daily. I brought this to his attention prior to him moving and I was, once again, told "I'll take care of it." I've received opinions on the root cause of this issue and it's the underlayment - either the type used or the way it was put down. Resolution is to tear up and replace the existing tile. I have also filed with the BBB for this issue.

Aabsolutely no problems. Everything was on schedule and was completed superbly.

Work was continual from the demolition to the installing of trim and countertops. Also new toilets were installed.

Contacted through Angie's List via email. Got a response within 24 hours and made an appointment to meet the next day to evaluate the project and provide a quote. Nobody ever showed up and received no phone calls or emails to let us know he wouldn't be showing up. Will not be using Tile by Simon in the future.
