Tile By Simon

Simon is a very likable man who is excellent at his craft. He is very knowledgeable and helped me choose the best tile and radiant heat options for my home. He and his crew were very patient and considerate of myself and my dog's need to live in their construction zone the entire week. The transformation is simply stunning.

Randall is clearly an excellent contractor, judging form the reviews on Angie's List, which is why we contacted him to perform the demolition of our kitchen's existing tile backsplash/drywall and the installation of new drywall and tile. Contacted Randall via email and received a timely reply setting an appointment for him to come out to give us an estimate for the work. Scheduled appointment day came and went, but no Randall and no contact from him to reschedule. A missed opportunity for us to have a well-regarded craftsman handle our project.

Did a good job, tile looks good, was responsive, on schedule at a good price. I was originally going to have the tile installed vertically but he suggested laying the tile horizontally and it ended up looking really nice. Made the bathroom appear wider. Would recommend.

Installed porcelain tile flooring?and base trim in two bathrooms.

With the exception of the shower pan, I had cleared the existing shower doors, tile, bench seat, and wallboard prior to the Tile by Simon's install. The install job took 2.5 days from start to finish. Care was taken to cover carpeting with plastic, tools and materials were clean, organized, moved and stored at the end of the day, all messes were cleaned up. The crew was quiet and respectful, no blaring music :). My cleanup after the install was minimal, consisting of washing the bathroom floor after the tile had set, running the vacuum and dusting the adjoining basement family room.

Excellent from job from start to finish, Simon was awesome...professional...honest...fair...the young man who actually installed the tile was gifted at his job...my house is vey old...and the installation was a challenge ...he did an amazing job...they exceeded my expectations...I would highly recommend Simon to my family and friends.

I was very happy with my experience with Tile by Simon. Simon is was courteous and professional--He answered the phone on our first call and came to give us a quote the next day. We have done a considerable amount of renovation on our home and--after having many contractors reschedule and miss appointments--we have come to value someone who arrives on time, especially just to give a quote. We received 3 quotes and went with Simon for these reasons and his honest pricing. Simon's contractors were clean cut guys and very polite. They did solid work and it was done quicker than expected. Simon stopped by to bring supplies and look at the progress daily. I felt like my small job was in very capable hands. At the end of the work, we saw a spot that we wanted touched up, Simon sent someone over the next day.

Simon was great to work with, we had a small job yet he still treated us as we were a big one! He and his crew were timely and professional. The price was half of what others were bidding us. I was impressed and will definitely use him again!

Simon and his crew were professional. The communication with them before and during the job was easy. The job was performed in a timely manner and high quality. I would highly recommend Simon to my friends or family. I would also recommend to arrange tile delivery through Simon, since we had issues with another company that did not supply correct tiles on time. It required Simon and his crew to re-arrange the work progress, but despite that they finished same day as estimated. Simon handled this complication caused by the other company in a professional and cool manner.

Tile by Simon set a new porcelain floor with trim and installed marble around our tub surround. It took a little over two days to complete as Angel stayed on task and did a quality job. They also repaired some tiles in another bathroom in the house. Extra time was taken to bullnose tiles that I was not expecting. The price was certainly fair compared to other bids that I received. Overall, I am pleased with the job that was done and would use them again if necessary.

IT DIDNand quot;T GO WELL! Although and quot;Simonand quot; and Angel showed up on time, things kind of went down hill from there. and quot;Simonand quot; left within an hour of arriving after receiving my deposit check and left me with Angel who could barely speak English if at all. I was told in my estimate and on the day of service that they would remove the floorboards in the bathroom and replace them after the tile was finished. Instead, they didn't remove the floorboards and trashed them when removing the tile. When I called and quot;Simonand quot; to discuss it he got extremely frustrated with me and said they could just remove them and re-install them to be flush with the tile. I explained this wasn't acceptable because the floorboards were trashed. I also had questions about the fireplace tile and where the 1 inch strip of tiles would go within the regular 2 inch tiles (he said it was needed to make the tiles fit) He got upset and said he guessed he would have to come back since I had so many questions. When he arrived, I showed him my issues with the floorboards. He said there was a gap because of the extra layers from the old tile. I explained that I understood why there was a gap but I didn't understand why he didn't follow through with his agreement to remove the floorboards BEFORE removing the tile. He just kept saying they could remove the floorboards and re-install them...he just didn't get or care that the boards where torn up. When it came to the fireplace surround, he was upset that I had asked someone else's option about where the 1 inch tile should go so the fireplace would look right (I asked my Sister-in-Law who is a designer). He said I needed to not get other options because it would just CONFUSE me. I explained I just needed to be able to see what he was talking about so I could feel good about how it would look. He proceeded to tell me that I could just do it myself then and he would give me a credit. I thought it was unprofessional to tell me AFTER they had torn out the files and the fireplace surround to tell me I could just do it myself since I was asking so many questions. I told him I would appreciate him finishing the job he was hired for and being paid for. I just wanted him to follow through and understand I was only asking questions. I felt he was VERY unprofessional and will never use him again or refer him to the 3 people whom were waiting to see what I thought about the job before they called him to setup their tile jobs.ON A POSITIVE NOTE: Angel is very skilled at his job and did wonderful work. He actually came up with a solution for the fireplace that didn't require a 1 inch strip of tile ( All the drama from and quot;Simonand quot; ended up being a non-issue). If Angel had his own company or worked for a different company, I would definitely hire him again.

I contacted Mr. Simon by phone and he returned that call the same day. We made an appointment for him to come to the house and give me as estimate for the work. He was punctual, professional and answered all my questions. His estimate was reasonable and we agreed on a date for the work to begin. In the meantime I emailed a few additional questions and he responded promptly. He asked if they could begin the work early and I was delighted to agree. Once they began, he and/or his assistant were on site every day until the work was finished. They had to remove the old vinyl tile and baseboard and prep the floor. They moved the refrigerator, washer, dryer, and toilet and then replaced everything when the work was done. It all took about 4 days and I could not ask for better results. Before they left, they cleaned up and removed all the old vinyl tile. The entire process went smoothly and I was so impressed with the quality of work that I asked for an estimate on some additional work on an upstairs bathroom. I highly recommend Tile by Simon and would not hesitate to use his services in the future.

Simon and his crew are great, he did exactly what we asked for and we've been thrilled with the quality of his work. He's probably not the cheapest out there, but he is a craftsman and you will be impressed with how it looks when he's done.

Tile by Simon did a great job remodeling two bathrooms. I initially engaged Randall (Simon) to install ceramic tile on two bathroom floors but due to a leak problem in one shower, I had to expand the project to include replacing a shower and fixtures. Although his expertise is tile, Simon was great about finding and arranging other contractors to do the plumbing and glass work so I didn't have to general contract the projects which was very important to me. Simon and Angel were great about working around my crazy schedule, squeezing me in despite delays associated with the expanded project scope, working extra hours/weekends to complete the work quickly, and all in a way that my family hardly even knew they were in the house! The tile work turned out beautifully and I would definitely hire Tile by Simon again!

Chad did an excellent job installing floor tile in my bathroom. He really seemed to know what he was doing and the finished product shows. He was even understanding when we provided him with the wrong type of tile for the job. He informed us of the problem and waited for us to get the correct type of tile rather than just installing it to get done with the work. I would definitely contact with him again.

I thought it went great. Simon and his team were very professional and responsive and we're happy with the result! They were able to fit us in almost right away, which met our needs, and Simon referred us to a glass shower door provider who was the same price as Home Depot, but in a much shorter time frame, and his bid also included delivery and installation!!

Everything went great! Angel did a great job and got it done even sooner than I expected. Would definitely use TileBySimon's company again!

Simon gave the project a lot of thought. Came up with various options. Communicated well. Was punctual and I am pleased with the end result. His assistant Angel seems skilled as well.

It went really well and the result looks great. Randall was very flexible with fitting me into his schedule on short notice. I forgot to buy a corner shower shelf/dish and Randall made one out of the tile to create a shelf in the corner. I would use Tile by Simon again in the future.

Great communication. Simon came out initially to view the kitchen, provide an estimate for his work, told me how much tile I needed to buy and gave additional suggestions about the tile I was considering. He was ready to complete the job within a week, but I had to push the job out 4 weeks. Everything went smooth and the tile looks great.

Tile by Simon was prompt and professional. The two additional guys he brought in to help with the demo and installation were also very professional and trustworthy. I felt comfortable leaving the house as needed while these guys worked. The tile floor is gorgeous. The installation and new underlayment corrected all the problems with the previous tile and grout popping up. It was no easy task to keep the tile pattern flowing from room to room and through the entire main floor of the house. They seemed to be able to do with ease. His pricing was fair, he did exactly what he said he would do and he did it exactly in the amount of time he said it would take. We couldn't be happier with it. My husband and I already had all the tile, mortar, and grout for the kitchen backsplash. We intended to DIY the project. We then decided that we would hire someone to do the labor since we had never attempted tile work and were tired after doing the lengthy kitchen remodel ourselves. My phone calls and texts were returned in a timely manner and the consult was professional. When I received the estimate, I was very disappointed. The estimate was $700 for less than 20 square feet of backsplash. Materials not included.

I hired Simon, after getting 4 other quotes, to replace the master shower in a rental property we were getting ready to sell. We had a hard time finding anyone to JUST do the shower. Simon was easy to contact, he was extremely responsive and on time. They arrived on time and finished on time. The work is very well done. I know had to to pare down the pricing on the shower, and he was fine with it. He was not the least expensive person quote I received, but I do believe it was very good work. Will definitely contact him when it is time to renovate my entire bathroom.
