Fair. There were not enough questions asked up front. As a result, 3 week kitchens made some assumptions that turned out not to be accurate. Some of the changes were pretty involved which made it less than smooth. I will say they took ownership and paid for a lot of those changes. Also part of the draw was having a coordinator. The coordination was excellent but having somebody in the home to supervise didn't go exactly as it was presented.

The process started out well. We worked with Debra and a designer and all in all, that part of the process was fine. It was once the work started that there were several problems. The name of the company says 'baths in a week'. Ours took over two months! We were leaving for vacation and were told our bathroom would be almost done by the time we came home. We came home to a disaster! Nothing but demolition was done. The mess was unbelievable! Our guest bath was left with feces in the toilet, a cabinet was left on our bed and lights left on in our house. The disturbing thing about the lights that were left on - they were left on in parts of the house that the workers should not have even been in. When I asked for the plan to finish the bathroom, I was told that it was at home and not available. All I received from Debra was a note in the mail about not freaking out during the experience. No since of urgency or an apology for cashing checks for work that had not been done - nor any target date for completing the promised work. Then an inspector came by and questioned us about having work done without permits being filed. At some point I asked why this was not done in a week as promised. At week six I was told that we had a three week project, not a one week project. It was lost on Debra that we were on week six already and still not done. Again, no responsibility for the fact that at that point the project had already taken twice as much time. I had stated that since checks had been cashed before the worked promised was done, that no more checks were being written until the job was done. By then end, this point was being pushed several times. The only timely thing about this company we found was how fast Debra was at cashing our checks. The bathroom is a huge improvement over what we had before, but in no way was it worth the brain damage of dealing with this company.

Response from Three Week Kitchens
In the Parkhill neighborhood, we are usually unable to follow the typical business model for Three Week Kitchens, Baths in a Week. These homes present their own challenges having been built nearly 100 years ago. Its very typical to run into things like lead paint, asbestos, lead pipes, framing issues from many remodels over the years. We often need to update the plumbing and electrical to comply to current building codes. Also, in a neighborhood that has homes values starting in the 300's and up to over a million, these clients are typically choosing finishes that have a higher degree of complexity and therefore require more time to complete. We have successfully completed dozens of homes in the area and by and large our homeowners understand that although our company brand is built on efficiencies in both the design and the build process, we will take the time is needed to complete a job to the customers satisfaction. We understand the process is intrusive and dirty, and while we want to make this as pleasant as an experience as possible, we must balance this with the need to deliver superior work. That's doesn't always go as smoothly as we would like, but in the end, what we hope the client will remember, is that we delivered a superior product.
