Description of Work: He referred me to a guy named Tim (Tim's Entry Service 720 435 5539) He installed a garden window I had had around from Craigslist for years, got my storm door working & replaced an old double paned Pella window that I couldn't have matched. He did excellent work, soup to nuts. If all workmen from Angie's list are as good I've found a home.

Early this year, I phoned Bill to come out and look at a window on which the seal had broken in a double paned window. Bill came out and looked at the window and said he'd order out the glass. Several days later I had a medical emergency, which put me in the hospital for several months. Bill had called to say the glass was in, and my husband talked to him and told him that I was in the hospital. Bill told him that there was no problem, to call when he could come out. November 12th, I phoned to say that I was home and that if he could, and if he still had the glass, that he could come out at his convenience. He came today, the 13th and put the glass in. When I got my checkbook out, he said that "No, he would do this for me". He said that he hoped that I was feeling better and that he'd feel better about it at no charge. I was pleased to see that there are good and decent people still around. I will definitly call Bill again if I need windows. Thank you Bill.

I had a sliding glass patio door replaced. Bill was very careful measuring and checking for installation challenges in our older home before giving us an estimate. As a result everything went well. Great door, great price, and a smooth installation. Thanks!

First, the owner Bill, does a wonderful job of taking time to explain options and isn't pushy about replacing windows that could otherwise be fixed / salvaged. Bill was on time for an estimate, measurement, and consultation and was a very pleasant person to have a conversation with regardless of the business opportunity. He looked at our window (even taking the double hung piece that comes out for cleaning off) and inspected it's condition, remarking that it could possibly be saved, describing it's original manufacturing technique, etc. I was more interested in just getting it replaced and even though he knew that he quoted me what I felt was a very fair price for a custom window and installation. No pressure, no "let's talk about your other windows," and a clear understanding that most people aren't interested in spending their hard earned money on home projects they don't really need. I was very impressed with Bill's honesty and integrity. Installation went equally well. Bill's installer Tim was easy to work with on a day and time and called that day to let me know he was running just a little late, which wasn't a problem, as I had allocated the day to be available. Tim arrived, introduced himself, and got right to work. And work he did! I can't imagine how long it would have taken me to remove the old window, install the new one with the shimming / alignment needed, trim it, and caulk it. Tim did it in about 3 hours from what I recall and I could barely tell he'd been there (either inside or out). Overall, a really positive experience. We will likely have some other windows that need replacing over the next few years and I will not hesitate to use Summer Window again. Nor will I hesitate to recommend Bill to any of my family, friends, and neighbors who are considering new windows (although Bill may try to talk them out of spending $ on new if the option is available to repair instead :o) ).

Had a window slide that was not working. Talked with Bill about it on the phone, he knew exactly what I was trying to describe. Came by a week later, called to let me know he was headed my way. Spent about 20 minutes, fixed it good as new, if not better. Very decent guy, nice to talk with and listened very well. It was a pleasure to do business with Bill, will refer him to all of our friends. I would highly recommend him to you, if you have window repair or replacement needs.

Excellent guy...EXCELLENT work! Tim completed the job and cleaned up the mess in a couple afternoons. He brought a helper on "siding" day and the two of them blazed through the work. I'm excited to have found him so we can continue to check things off our "deferred maintenance" list. Next up: new screens!
Description of Work: Readying for an appraisal, I called Bill for an estimate on some glass repair and a small siding job. He put me in touch with Tim Pera who returned my phonecall almost immediately and came over the following day to measure and give me a quote. In the end he ordered glass for and replaced 2 double pane windows and cut glass on site to repair 2 single panes. Additionally, Tim removed the stucco and re-sided the back of our garage, and repaired a damaged piece of wood siding on the front of the garage. AND...just because it was bugging him...he fixed the latch on our back gate!

Bill and his crew did an excellent job, they started early, worked hard, and cleaned up every night (the job took a little longer than expected). A special thanks to Adam, Pedro and Marco for their attention to detail and work ethic. Almost all the old aluminum windows and storm windows in the house (of many different sizes) were replaced, I'm not a window expert but they fit snugly, look great and when Adam (the job foreman) saw that some of the window trim did not fit with the new windows he immediately told the crew to replace it with new trim, so I'm thinking he only accepts quality work. Excellent job, thanks again!

Bill did a fantastic job with our windows. We have a 1962 home with 13 odd shaped windows in the front of the house that needed to be replaced. Bill replaced them all with modern, low e glass, and even repainted and retrimmed the windows (inside and outside) so you couldn't see that any work has been done. Really great job, and a very reasonable price -- the best around. Bill was professional and easy to work with. I will definitely use again and recommend to friends

Bill at Summer Windows was great to work with and was never high-pressure or pushy - listened to what we wanted, and made recommendations. When we requested some windows that weren't normally part of his 'stock', he said no problem, we can work with anything. We had Summer Windows install four basement windows (single sliders) with upgraded screens, and we also had them work on our front door to include new seal, shaving it down and re-hanging to make it fit better and seal better - the door is perfect (Tim did a great job!), and the windows and installation turned out much better than expected. Because two of the windows were original and built into the cinder/stucco house, the installers had to cut them away and spent quite a bit of time on it. We ended up with some damage around the inside wall (no getting around it), and Bill's team promptly came back and repaired the damage and it looks perfect. We are extremely happy with Bill and Summer Windows and would recommend them and use them again! We may need to replace a large glass door that seems to have lost it's seal this winter - we'll be calling Summer Windows.

Bill started by measuring the windows we wanted to replace and provided us with options of different window manufacturers. Because Bill only installs windows, and doesn't sell a particular brand, he doesn't try to sell one brand over another. This is very uncommon in the window replacement/installation business. We solicted many vendors and were left feeling uneasy with the hard sell (i.e. used car salesman) approcah. Bill was by far the best representative and gave us the general facts about each window. We researched window materials and manufacturs on our own and, working with Bill, decided to go with a Pella fiberglass window. During the course of the installation process, the subcontractor discovered that much of our drywall and framing was damaged and rotting becuase of the leaks from the previous windows. Bill brought in contractors to repair these problems. There was one big problem during the installation. One of Bill's subcontractors had performed shoddy work and then one day stopped showing up. He couldn't be reached and we never saw him again. While this could have been a fiasco, Bill responded quickly and brought in another contractor who did excellent work and finished the job well. Some additional costs were incurred because of the missing conractor. Bill absorbed these costs. While this could have been a reason to downgrade Summer Window's rating, I see this as Bill stepping in quickly and solving the problem. Things don't alwasy go well. A quick response to solve the problem, however, is a sign of quality work. Despite these problems, I would definitely call Bill again (which we probably will in the next few years for more windows).
Description of Work: We had all the windows replaced in the upper two floors. This included both standard sliding doors and the half-moon type window over the entryway. Bill provided options in windows and helped us decide on the brand and style.

Bill is the kind of person that epitomizes an Angie's List success. My wife and I know nothing about windows. I bought a 1928 house with a stucco-over-brick exteriorand a covered patio in back. There was no door out to the patio or yard, but there was a set of windows. It occurred to me I could remove a window and pop in a door. I had one guy look at what I wanted and he spent the entire time whining about what a hard project it would be, pointed out everything that might go wrong, refused to do any of the ?extra? work that went with the project (paint, trim, single step down to patio), and then quoted me three times what Bill did. When I showed Bill where I wanted my door, he instantly started visioning and planning everything. He said my new door needed to look like it?d always been there and offered up all the ideas for the ?extra? things (paint, trim, single step down to patio) without me asking. If the project wasn?t already tricky enough, I had a tight timeline and hoped to get the door in before I moved. He made it happen. AND the installers popped a dog door into my new door for my dogs. AND he went around my house giving me tips about making my beautiful, old windows more efficient, and how to get the old door lock rekeyed to match the new one. Bill is the kind of guy that sees the world as possibilities. We need more people like him.

Great experience from the initial bid until the windows were in place about three weeks later. They were very good. There were a couple of small problems which they took care of them right away. They were fast and did a good job. I didn't check the price with anybody else, I just liked them and the price was fine. An excellent experience all the way around. From start to finish, Bill was always willing to work with us to stay within our budget and to obtain the best possible product. He frequently made suggestions that other companies wouldn't even address to help us obtain what we needed for iimproving the energy efficiency of our home. He was patient, never used high pressure techniques, and listened well to our needs. HIs installers were wonderful also.
Description of Work: Summer Windows replaced 6 windows in our home and installed a pair of storm doors over an existing pair of wooden french doors. They were also willing to remove an existing garden window in our kitchen and replace it with a regular sliding window, This required some additional work for their installers in replacing exterior trim, insulation, etc. We had no problems with any part of the job. The installers were punctual, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful as was Bill in helping us select the appropriate window make and style. His final price was almost half of what other companies (who did not want to be involved with the complications of the garden window removal or the installation of the storm doors) had quoted us.

We had bids from three other companies and Summer Window was very competitively priced. They were actually lower than the top bid. We were very concerned about who to use for the job but Summer Window stood out in Angie's list. We researched the other companies and found nothing about them on this list, or in any other research we did. Summer Window really has earned their ratings on Angie's list and we recommend them to anyone else who is making an investment in new windows. Bill is very professional, pleasant, and the work crew was prompt and well qualified.

Bill, the owner, came out and measured the downstairs windows for an estimate. He has a pleasing low-key style and answered all my questions w/o the hype I got from other vendors. He gave me a very good price and, after considering for a few days, I called him back and asked him to include the upstairs windows as well. After about a month, the windows arrived and it took the crew about 3 days to install them. The 3 crew members were extremely courteous and professional. They laid down a drop cloth to protect the floor and carted away all of the refuse. In all, I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Windows were good quality for the price. Bill was easy to work with. The window and door installation was sloppy. Two windows were too small; the installer said "I can make this work." The two windows required 1" wood spacers to make them fit. From the exterior you see the window, then a 1" piece of wood (now covered with caulk) then the exterior trim. The window does not reach the exterior trim. Caulking around the windows is inconsistent. Spray foam fell on the carpet. Exterior trim was damaged and repaired. Door installation: holes were drilled in the aluminum storm door that were not required. Holes were drilled in the wood door frame that were not required and not filled. Lock installation required chisel work that looks unprofessional. Bill agreed that there were issues that needed to be addressed after the job had been completed. His team spent another day working to address to the best of their ability.
Description of Work: Replaced nine windows. Installed window casing that I provided. Installed two doors and one storm door. Replaced two sidelights.
