Spec 7 Insulation

She set up appointment - I took time off work to sit home and the 'installer' never showed. Called Lisa, no answer. Called again a few hours later and she was extremely unprofessional. Never an apology - just a statement of "oh I thought he would have called you - he's sick" - yep! That's it - So I moved on - hoping to let others know. I can't imagine what difficulty you would have after you paid them and they installed the blinds. No thank you.

This company is extremely unprofessional. Despite my many attempts to get blinds installed, they failed yet again to show up. They missed their initial measuring appointment, have failed to call numerous times and I had to harass them for a quote. Then again today they miss the installation appointment and do nothing to remedy the situation. The carelessness with lack of consideration is beyond ridiculous. They originally promised me an install appointment on May 26th, now June 21st with a newborn that hasn't been sleeping because of the early mornings here in Colorado and I'm going to Home Depot. What a mess! Not even an apology from Lisa Vesser! Beware if you're not a big contractor they won't value your business!

The short of it is - Spec 7 scheduled an appointment to install insulation with us and then totally flaked on necessary correspondence prior to the installation. This must be an anomaly for their business, because they were recommended AND if this treatment was their norm then they would no longer be in business. Read on for details... I was recommended to Spec 7 by a neighbor. They first came to our house in February 2012 and provided a quote. We exchanged a few emails over the next month. The last email was from me with a question about permitting - Spec 7 never responded. Let that be warning #1. Regardless, we had some electrical work that we needed to complete in the attic before proceeding with insulation so this put the entire project on hold. The project stayed on hold for quite some time, as we were taking on other house projects and were still not decided on the entirety and placement of electrical projects. Finally, in October 2013 we were ready to move forward with electrical and then insulation. I scheduled an electrician and then called Spec 7. The conversation started with me acknowledging that our bid was over one year old, but that I would like to schedule an appointment for installation based on the trust that the updated pricing wouldn't contain an exorbitant increase. We scheduled installation for Friday 10/18/2013 and I asked to receive a call confirming the quote. I was also told that I would receive a call on Thursday 10/17 to confirm the time window for installation. I never received either call. Clearly Spec 7 did not want my business. I would have preferred that they had the professionalism to tell me that from the beginning. Perhaps they'll be more respectful to a prospective customer starting from the beginning, but hire them at your own risk. One more important note: Spec 7 is not a preferred contractor for Denver Energy Challenge or Xcel Energy. I do not think their work will qualify for any Xcel rebates or Federal Tax Credits.

We had a great experience with Spec 7. They were the second company to give us a bid and their cost was very reasonable. They completed the job on time and showed up when expected. We have a tri-level home and from the testing they performed, we could see our lower level had little to no insulation in the wall cavities. We ARE noticing a difference in the warmth that room now retains. We highly recommend them!
