Once everything was completed the service professionals left a note on the door to let me know they had completed the services and any relevant details I needed to know regarding what was done. I paid using their online system which was easy to use and allowed me the convenience of using my credit card.
Description of Work: Excellent service. We hired Swingle to blow out our sprinkler lines for the season and to fertilize and aerate the lawn.

+ -1 moreI called for an estimate and was given the impression they would be out the next day. It took a week of calls to get them to come out for the estimate. I was told work would be done in 3-4 weeks, so when I had heard nothing after 3 weeks I started calling again. After postponing work several times they finally did the work, at least five weeks after my estimate. The trimming and removal work was done well and fully cleaned up, once they finally arrived.
Description of Work: I called Swingle to remove a large branch that had fallen in my yard, cut the portion of the broken branch that remained on the tree, and remove a few other dead branches.

+ 1 moreSwingle was set up to do treatments on the lawn and trees through the spring and summer. They were punctual and performed said work. However, results for weed controls were not up to par. I ended up going and buying my own weed treatment to remove weeds from the yard. In my opinion, Swingle was average and I would not recommend them as a top performer

+ 0 moreI am very pleased with Swingle's service. I have used them in the past for tree trimming but this was the first time I've used them for landscaping. Tom came out to my house to talk to me about what I wanted to do. I don't have a green thumb and don't have any time to maintain my landscaping so he had great suggestions for low maintenance plants and shrubs. He also took into account the shade/sun factor. Tom arranged everything and was onsite during the work. Where Tom really impressed me is when on the morning of the job, the crew went to buy the plants and found one of the ones I selected did not look good. Tom called me and said he could not in good concious plant these plants. He suggested an alternative that was looking good that day. In addition, the crew mistakenly cleaned up one small area of my yard that Tom and I did not talk about fixing. It actually was great because that area needed it. But, because we did not have it on the estimate, Tom was very apologetic and was not intending to charge me for it. He is very professional and very helpful. I highly recommend working with him.
Description of Work: Trees trimmed. Shrubs, small trees, and bushes removed. Stumps ground and removed. Landscaping rocks removed and replaced with mulch. New landacaping fabric installed. New shrubs planted.

+ -1 moreDon't let these guys near your nice trees. They don't know a juniper from a chokecherry bush nor do they know North from East or Corner from Front. Apparently the word sidewalk has them baffled too, because that must mean the "house" And their prices aren't low either.
Description of Work: By phone, requested a quote to trim a juniper tree (that had been missed in an earlier attempt by the same company, thus leaving the yard unbalanced from the street because the other tree had been trimmed -- duh). Also requested a quote to trim the top of another juniper bush along the front yard near the sidewalk. And to trim the choke-cherry bush on the north side of the house. Got the estimate in poor hand-writing. So I didn't realize that "juniper" had become "pine" When they showed up the crew trimmed the pine tree not on the corner of the house and trimmed a juniper bush not along the front walk. They reported that they had completed the trimming of the chokecherry along the north side of the house (was that the juniper or what?) The note left specifically stated that they would return in the future to trim the juniper along the front walk. That never happened. The bill arrived (app. April 10). I explained my problem in a letter. I was being charged for a trim that was never performed on 2 counts a) no juniper along the front walk, and b) no chokecherry along the north side of the house. I was also very disappointed at the mess they had made of the pine tree instead of the juniper on the corner of the house. 3 months went by and I didn't hear a thing from them. Then after it appeared that they had agreed or abandoned their claim they sent another bill (rather threatening, I might add). Not at all friendly service. I ended up paying for lousy work just to avoid the hastle. I made it clear that in paying I was not agreeing that the service was in any way acceptable.

+ 0 moreA very personable gentlemen came and estimated the damage from hail and from insect invasion. He then made suggestions as to what should be done. I agreed and he gave me a price that I felt was fair. Someone came and treated the Oak tree for Gall, and fertilized all of the major trees. I believe the Oak tree was teated more than once. Another group of workers trimmed th shrubs. Later another crew came and trimmed the Locust tree. The Hackberry Tree pruning was delayed, due to Public Service Wires that were strung through the branches, and had to be disconnected prior to any work being done. [Swingle had to wait until utility people could find the time for this] At the time of the Hackberry pruning, there was some other work done at my request. I understood that the estimate included removal of some "wild" trees that were encrouching into my yard, but the only ones removed were a few Sumac, and I requested the pruners to do that, or it wouldn't have been done. I haven't contacted Swingle to ask for clarification of this yet, as I have not been in good health. The pruning was beautifully done, and my trees are looking much better. I will contact Swingle again if I need more work to be done

Trimmed the Aspen Trees. trimed and shaped shubbery, cleaned out some of the wild seedlings, Picked up and hauled away most of the debris. Kept appointments. were curtious, and usually effecient.

+ -1 moreI will probably never solicit them again based on their lack of responsiveness. NOTE! Per the instructions in this survey, I was forced to put in a "service date". I just want to point out that they did not perform services. My complaint is that they never even came out to our property, when they said they would.
Description of Work: I called them up to come out and survey our lawn as it had brown spots in one area to survey and recommend what services were best for the problem. They said they would be out within a week (never gave a specific date). They never showed up, didn't call. I did solicit their services once before (~2008 I think). They came out and provided a price at that time. I thought it was too high for the same type of service (to look at our stressed lawn).

I don?t think they set a time to come out. They just said that they would be there Monday through Wednesday and that was kind of frustrating. I ended up being here when they did come, but I would rather have them schedule a time.

+ -1 moreI called to get an estimate. I very quickly received this from Swingle and one other company. Swingle's price was higher than I expected, so I had initially called back the other company. Swingle called me to follow up and guaranteed a price match, which I took since I had heard about the quality of their service. It turns out that Swingle had actually quoted trimming one additional tree (our neighbor's which hangs over our yard), but since we don't own the tree, we didn't have them do it. So in the end, their price was even lower than the other quote we got. They did a great job of trimming our trees (which were in great need of a pruning) and did all the clean up as well as making sure it was safe around it. In addition, they helped answer questions we had about one of the trees and how an addition we're going to do would impact that tree. Very knowledgable indeed! We were very happy with the service, price and friendliness of their team!
Description of Work: They came to trim two large (~60+ years old) trees for us and in addition, part of our neighbor's tree where we had a power line hanging on one of their branches.

+ 0 moreA representive came, very friendly and personable, and gave us the quote. A few weeks later they came and with in one long day of work and a few hours the next day the project was finished. They transformed our completely dirt back yard into a beautiful haven! The prexsiting fence was surrounded by mulch and the center of the yard is new sod. I would like to add, that I was worried that our job would be too 'small' for the company, because their website has so many huge jobs listed. But, they were so friendly and their effort and hard work made our small denver lot feel like a paradise!
Description of Work: Sod and mulch areas (which also included weed barrier and metal edging around the grass line) completed the back yard. We would also have liked a paver walkway, but it would have doubled the service price. The gentleman who came to quote us knew the price range we wanted to stay in, so he gave us alot of great ideas as to how to do it ourselves.

+ -1 moreWe looked on the List and had three firm come out. Swingles was the only one who described exactly what to do to save the three, 30 foot evergreens. This the third year that they have owrked on the trees. They look healthy and strong; not what they looked like in 2007.

+ -1 moreThe sales rep who did the quote was not as detailed as I would have liked. I like a lot of information when I'm paying someone to do something new for me. I've never hired a tree cutter, so I wanted the assurance they were knowledgeable, experienced, and focused on customer service. The rep was nice enough, but I just didn't get the details and reassurance I needed. They were also the HIGHEST priced company of the 4 we got quotes from. Our large tree trim quote from them was $350...everyone else was $270, $265, and $180, so that's a big difference. Their stump grounding quote was $120...the others were $150, $65, and $80, respectively. So there were 2 other companies with more reasonable stump quotes (and trim quotes). For these reasons, we chose another company that seemed way more knowledgeable and more affordable (though we didn't go with the cheapest...we were willing to pay a little more for a company that clearly demonstrated the knowledge, experience, and sincere customer service we were looking for).
Description of Work: All tree services come out to the location to provide a free estimate before scheduling the service. To be fair, this company only gave us a quote. We did not have them perform work for us.
