I worked with Mike and Matt. They were both very punctual and professional. I was baffled by all of my neighbor's quick hiring decisions. Royal Roofing are experts at the local building codes in your area. Some of my neighbors only had half of their siding authorized for replacement just like mine initially. After using some really cool sophisticated computer software, Royal was able to make a new estimate with photos and breakdowns of the exact type of siding that was on my home. Turns out they were right, it is no longer manufactured and State Farm agreed to replace ALL of it. I'm very happy I waited it out and trusted these guys or I wouldn't have brand new everything on my home. First class outfit they run over there and I'd recommend them to any and everyone looking for a new roof or siding or if you were hit by hail. Don't trust these other yo-yos and their broken promises, hire a company that goes above and beyond for you and your home like Royal Roofing!
Description of Work: I had my rental property in Greeley severely damaged by a hail storm over the summer. They replaced 3 windows, all of my siding, my roof, my gutters, and painted my porch railings and beams.

After a hail storm, I was inundated with roofers at my door. I researched each on Angie's List and BBB (Which the vendor pays for - so not as reliable as Angie's list.) I shared with Matt, from Royal Roofing the F Royal had on Angie's list - he pulled it up on his phone - to explain why he thought the woman had rated them so poorly. I believed him rather than the ranting other customer. Glad I did! And from beginning to end Royal Roofing (Matt) showed up when the insurance adjuster was here (actually earlier to a**** the damage), his workmen showed up on time, they were polite, efficient. and speedy, did a very good job. When the insurance company was giving me the run around - he successfully intervened. !Also - I chose a "Cool Roof" tile from Owens Corning. It is the latest in keeping your house cooler (dark colors attract the heat of the sun - duh!) If you live in the southwest - you'd be foolish not to choose it. To make a selection, Matt emailed me the colors and the specs for each. So now I'm protected from heat and hail for the life of my home. Yeah! Here's the exceptional part: I had had a squirrel problem and had it patched. The roofers removed it to artfully put on the roofing tiles - but did not replace the flashing to keep out the squirrels. I called Matt on a Sunday evening. Monday morning he arrived to fix it....AND he had gone around the house to pick up small bits of things (maybe) the workmen (or the wind) had left in my garden and grounds. There are few companies that I have ever interacted with that have been so terrific. Use them - you can't go wrong!

This is the WORSE company I have ever dealt with...I signed a contract on August 27, 2012 for a job of $9,734.07. which was supposed to include the paint and roof on my house. Well they were supposed to start the work but Matt told me they were having issues with pulling the permit, then it was issues with the roofing material company. He then told me the permit department was three days behind...a couple days later the roofing material company was three days behind...The next week, THE SAME EXACT EXCUSES! Literally word for word. He finally told me that the materials would be delivered on September 10, well later that day he calls and says because it is raining they wouldn't just drop the materials off so they would drop the materials off Tuesday and do my roof Wednesday. I told him that I thought it was supposed to rain on Wednesday too when he told me that he would check on it and call me back in an hour...I never heard from him until I called some other company thinking it was linked and left numerous messages for Matt, including one threatening him with a lawyer...he called acting like he never got any of the messages and he finally heard them so he got out there and had some crew get the job done. He told me he NEVER knew the materials were not delivered on Tuesday, which was a HUGE LIE because if he didn't know the materials were not delivered, there would have been a crew of men at my house that he said were scheduled on Monday to do the job on Wednesday!!!! He told me he was dropping off some materials for the job along with the permit for the job...the materials showed but no permit! They finally got the freaking job done, stole a chair and left nails that I am still cleaning up! So after all this, he and the insurance company had been talking back and forth with each other trying to agree on an amount, while I am waiting to get paid from the insurance company to cover this, almost $5,000, difference. Matt had talked to my insurance agent and knew they were sending me a final check and that I could not pay him until I got the money. He also had left a text on October 3 stating he was going to call for a final inspection the next day. October 9 comes and I get my final check from the insurance company and immediately TEXT Matt telling him I have the final check, I need the final inspection and permit, his crew stole a chair and I need a final balance to send to him...I heard NOTHING from him. So I called the next day and left a voice message...no response. Finally about 2:30 PM on October 12 he calls me. He seamed nice at first but then starts to pressure me into dropping ALL I am doing to get his final check to him! I told him I had tried to get a hold of him earlier this week and now at almost 3PM I will not drop all I am doing to appease him. He tells me that they bent over backwards trying to please me...REALLY??? Lying to me for almost three weeks and continuously lying to me is pleasing me? NOT! Then he goes on about how they did my shed for practically free...I told them numerous times during the job NOT TO WORRY THE SHED! But he and the painter said "oh, there are always shingles left over so we will just do the shed!" So after telling Matt more than twice that I will not be around until the following week (October 17) he gets a little out of sorts and says "I can't see why I can't just come pick up a check or why you can't get it to me today or tomorrow?" I am not around and he had no business coming to where I was and I was in the middle of a job so I couldn't just drop everything to run to the bank at 3:00pm & my bank is not open on Saturdays! So he then says "well my boss has mentioned he might sue you for payment!" I lost it and told him "REALLY? After I tried to contact you earlier this week, and I just got the final payment from the insurance company and I am not going to drop everything to your whim, your boss is going to sue me?...tell him to just try...tell him to go ahead and try to sue me!!!" I hung up on him and he called me back leaving a message that he was trying to be civil about all this and that he would pass my message on to his boss...I text him back telling him that he was a liar and thief and I wanted to deal with his boss not him...where he text told me I was uncivil to text him and that they couldn't please a customer that was unwilling to be pleased, and that I was the one who owed them money (insinuating that I was the thief!) How is it that I couldn't be pleased because I wanted the job done almost a month and a half earlier??? Why? because I got upset that they killed my plants, or they broke a spot light light bulb right out my doggie door and didn't bother to pick the glass up so my animals ran out over the glass? OR the fact the painters didn't take off the shutters to paint my house under them so if I ever replace the shutters I will have to paint the house there? I mean the painters were o.k. and I did pay them extra (on the side) for actually painted the shed,or his workers stole a chair that belonged on my porch? and out of all this I only got REALLY P***** at the broken light they did NOT pick up or replace like they said they would...and the lying that Matt had done and continues to do...and the fact he tried to blame someone else for not calling and doing the job!!! He finally got the permit, not the day he told me over three weeks ago when he was going to drop it off, but today, October 12! And the inspection that he text me he was going to call for on October 4, was finally called into and is to be done either today(which it wasn't) or on Monday!!! I have read the back of my contract and it does state that the final payment is due upon completion, but it is very hard to pay a company when you don't even know what the final amount to pay is...which I didn't know until Matt did text me with it on Oct. 3, including that I should be getting another check from my insurance company for the final payment, which I did on October 9, which I immediately text him that I had it and I needed to get him paid!!! He and the insurance company didn't agree on a cost until Oct. 3, which was after the completion date, so how could I have paid him? All in all, never again...I will never hire this company or refer them to any one!!! God have mercy on your soul if you do use them!!!

Response from Royal Roofing LLP
Dear Member, I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with our company. I have talked with all parties involved and read your narrative. I agree it seems there was a lapse in communication throughout the process. This is something we pride ourselves on, so I would like to be the first to apologize. In regards to the workmanship of your project, it was first class. After overlooking the materials list I see we did in fact eat the cost of several upgraded materials to make amends for the suppliers inability to deliver your materials as originally stated. You are correct that is not your fault and when we make a promise, we must follow through. We used a high profile ridge ventilation system as opposed to metal roof vents and installed a high ridge beauty panel across the front of your home. I don't agree with your assertion of my employees being scam artists however. I looked at your file and you are correct the total increased almost $6K from the original estimate. All of which was Approved & Paid for by Your insurance company. They are a pro profit business and if they agreed to pay that much for your home's damage I fail to see how you were conned, frauded, or ripped off? If anyone should feel bad, it was your insurance company who initially tried to low ball your claim for $6K less than they should have. Due to our dilligence and thoroughness you were able to replace the roof on both your house and shed and scrape/re-paint the entire exterior of both. They originally approved just the roof of the house and shed and minimal paint. I also stand by our original offer for the chair. If we indeed were responsible for taking a plastic chair sitting next to the trash we will reimburse you double the $10 cost. I apologize for my labored assumption that it was to be thrown away. You are correct they should have asked before taking the chair. Overall I feel we provided you with first class workmanship and materials. I agree whole heartedly there are areas for improvement in the communication category. We still stand by our LIFETIME labor guarantee as well. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do. We strive to attain the highest customer satisfaction in our industry and do not want you to feel so neglected. Please keep in touch :)
