I wrote a review this morning of Rooter Town and I had a major typo. They did not charge me $90,000 for a repair. It was $9,000. Please except my apologize. I hit one too many zeros.

This company is a total scam. I would do 0 stars if I could. I had a plugged sewer line. They sent someone to flush it out. He said he hit a block, possibly a break and couldn't flush. He called his boss to take a video. He couldn't get a video and insisted it needed to be dug up. This was a Sunday and he knew I was going out of town and that without the repair I would not be able to use my water. He said he could have a crew out on Monday. He asked how much I was willing to pay. I lowballed him. He called his boss (like a car dealer) and came back with a bid of $90, 000 because it had to be hand dug. I should have said no but I was in a panic, and he played on that. The job took 2 days with approximately 60-man hours. They took 2 videos of the line after repair. I’ve been trying to get copies but have be unsuccessful to this point. Absolutely do not use this company.

Had the exact same experience as Maggie B posted, except they didn’t leave shoe booties in my yard. HIGH pressure sales tactics and FOMO used to get you to sign a work order/contract and start work immediately the next day. Used Halloween as “a holiday” to explain why they were available to start tomorrow and could offer a discounted rate. Problem is…. they started with an extremely high and unrealistic “initial quote” before offering and nice discount for agreeing to use them next day. In negotiations: this tactic is called “anchor bias” noting they’ll set the anchor at $15-18k (arbitrary) and make it look like a deal for your by lowering it $3-6k. Your best chance is to remove their “anchor” and start over with the National cost of sewer repair at $4-6k and tell them u need 2 other bids and quotes (market competition is a good thing for consumers). Don’t let them hassle/pressure you about seeking other bids/quotes as it’s your right to do so and a GREAT IDEA to avoid overpaying. The process: 1) they charged a reasonable $95 service fee for a roto snake to clear a blockage and shows me the tree roots. ( I had no issue with this) 2). Told me blockage was around 35-40 feet and could they could feel and “offset” in the pipe (sound familiar?) 3). Offered $300 camera service to inspect pipe and the offset. Offers 50% off or $150 for camera scope. I had no issue with this either as I desired more information. - this is where the FOMO starts when they see a small crack in your pipe and roots growing in 4) high pressure sales tactics start noting the starting cost was stated at $16- $18k (anchoring, and arbitrary starting point based solely on their opinion). “sewer repair is the most expensive thing you’ll encounter as a homeowner……” but we’ll take a few thousand off (the anchor price making it look better) because we can start tomorrow and are light on project load due to holiday”- if you agree today to use us for a trench repair and liner fitting to fix cracked pipe. Implies the Discount will not be offered if they leave your residence before you sign. 5). Get you to sign a contract with 50% deposit due up front and non-refundable- they’ll offer credit line account through Wells Fargo as well with signed work contract. 6). The work they do is subcontracted out to a excavation company to dig the trench and install the liner fox. Mine trench was 14 feet deep by 3 Ft wide and 10 feet long, but why is that over double the quote others share noting $5-6k for 8 foot depth? Do yourself a favor- only call them if you are a hard-@s and can stick to your guns for simple things like a line clearance. If your are not a good negotiator, have difficulty saying “no” easily, hate confrontation, or fall for FOMO tactics with some bad news, stear clear of this company. Maggie B’s story/review matches my experience to a “T” except I paid twice the amount for a similar job as they pressured me into using them vs getting 2nd and 3rd opinions for quotes. The crew communicated well. The job itself “appears” well done…:BUT I was also never shown any post work camera images if their post liner install despite asking. So I cannot even verify if my “offset” is truly fixed unless I pay for another company to scope with a camera. They did wave the $150 camera line scope fee, but why not for nearly $12k in charges for the bid?

PSA: DO NOT EVER USE ROOTER TOWN PLUMBING! Currently fighting with them to get a refund or at minimum make someones day harder - but I already have proof they're liars and on principle need to share the story TO ANYONE who wants to listen. If you need a good plumber, check out Peak Plumbing or literally ANYONE else. Background: We had a toilet back up on Sunday night so called rooter town to clear the blockage. The first fella, Luke was nice and cleared the drain but said he was running into some roots and what felt like a possible offset in the pipe so reccomended that we scope the line. A few hours later they sent a "supervisor" Winston to scope the line. Winston BLATANTLY lied to us. He "scoped" the line for less than 10min and claimed he couldn't scope the entire line because there was just so many roots that they couldn't get through the line itself. He also said there was an offset about 40ft down the line. It's been 5 days and I've called and texed multiple contacts multiple times and STILL don't have the video I paid for. Meanwhile, while he was here he told us it would be 6k to dig up a spot right outside our back door to do a spot fix and add in two access points but only AFTER that could they clean the line and see the full extent of what was happening and it could be 18k more if we need to replace the line. He was pressuring us and using fear tactics and left trash (shoe booties) in our back yard. I called another plumber and had him scope the line the next day and guess what? There are some roots but NOTHING that would block an entire scope. At 40ft there is no offset. And the actual issue is at 120 ft which is further than their scope or liner reached to. They are liars and out to get you and scare you into service. 10000000000% DO NOT reccomend. I still have not received the video I paid for. I paid nearly $300 to be told all of these lies from scammers. And I'm not the only one with this experience. Don't over pay. don't trust them.

Poor customer service but decent work. I had a drain line fail in my laundry room. Being a new home buyer I panicked and made the error of calling rooter town directly instead of going through a company approved by my insurance. Rootertown was able to get out here quickly and completed 20 feet of repair within a week. The actually work and guys who replaced my piping were pretty good, however my complaint has been the customer service and follow up by rooter town. Since I didn’t initially call insurance I’ve been playing middle man trying to get all the paperwork needed for my claim. At the moment I have called Rootertown 7 times and sent 2 emails trying to get a specific report and everytime they take notes of my experience and send an invoice in various different formatting. I have been very specific in the document I need stating what was found during snaking and a camera scope requiring the replacement and why the piping needed to be replaced. Yet no one seems to follow through. I am told, “we will solve this quickly and get back to you” but then never hear back. A customer service supervisor is suppose to be involved but I have yet to speak with them. The repair supervisor was super responsive when work was being done and I was a crying charges. However since I made my last payment he doesn’t seem to care enough to send this one document I need. So if you are looking for a company to come out quickly, get the job done, charge you for work, and then disappear then Rootertown can help you. Just don’t work with them if you need any follow through or need to file an insurance claim

I would leave NO stars if possible. I called this morning at 7:15am and spoke to a dispatcher (female), explained that we had a leak in our ceiling coming from 1 of 2 bathrooms above it. Provided her with my address and she set up a service time of between 2 and 4pm today. Received a call at 3:10 from another dispatcher (male) stating my information just came across his desk and they do not service my area. Unable to explain to me why the dispatcher this morning said they did and set up an appointment. Requested to speak with someone in charge and was told he was the manager. I would not recommend this company to anyone, very poor customer service and inept dispatchers!

Horrible company. Every year I get my drain cleaned. This year my wife called these fools. They were well outside of the two hour window they gave me. When they finally showed up they told me that they would need to scope the line for an extra $350. Nope - I just need it cleaned like I do every year. The tech runs out to his truck - calls his boss then says he can do it for a little cheaper. Nope - asked him to leave. This guy knocks on my door again - saying he can do it for a little cheaper. NO! Had to ask him to leave. Just a bunch of predatory scammers. Stay away from these dishonest turds. There are a ton of honest plumbers that can help you out.

Rooter Town had previously done a large job on this property, and Jason came back to resolve this issue for us too. They offered same-day services, and the experience was good. Jason was friendly, professional, gave helpful information about the problem, and was conscientious about cleaning up, respecting the space, and ensuring COVID19 safety precautions. Great experience! 10/10 would recommend Jason with Rooter Town!

Initially I posted a great review because I thought the problem was fixed. Two days later, the line backed up again. I called them out and this is what happened: Rooter Town is a total scam company. Here's how they operate based on numerous reports and my experience (Luckily I did not have to get an immediate fix and I had time to talk with several neighbors and friends) 1) They scope your main line for roots 2) They report there is a blockage/pipe issue at a certain number of feet 3) They say they can't get passed this first issue to see if there is more damage further in the pipe. So you need to excavate and fix the damaged pipe without knowing if there is more damage further down 4) They come with an estimate of $5800 for a 10 foot pipe repair with 8' excavation and then you will know if you need further repair once they can get their scope further 5) When you say you need to get another opinion and research, they come back and say "if you do it today, we can lower the price to $4800" 6) When you say you need time to think, they sit in their van in front of your house and come back at least 3 times with more information or a slightly lower price. Tons of pressure to "do it today" SHOP AROUND---I got my repair for $2500 less, with a professional pipe company who let me see the entire camera line to the street (yeah--this company could get their camera all the way down while Rooter Town couldn't). They were transparent and showed me all areas of the pipe and provided me with information to make an informed decision. ROOTER TOWN IS HORRIBLE THEY DO THIS TO EVERYONE--two friends used Rooter Town and ended up having their $5800 project turn into $10K and $14K disaster. Call around even if you need to stay in a motel for a couple of days. Don't cave into their pressure tactics. Use a local contractor like my neighbors who didn't get taken for a ride---..Aqualine, Elite Pipe, Eclipse Sewer

y do I feel stupid! Called for the $95 repair. Guy said he had to take toilet off because his rooter was too big for floor drain. I fell for it. Charged 245 to take toilet off. I should have read all reviews before calling these jerks. Seems to be a pattern! They then say they need to get a camera in there. We agree. 150 bucks for that. They tell me I have roots and they need to dig. At this point we are feeling caught between a rock and a hard spot. So we agree. Here is where it gets ugly. Clark tells me it is about $5,000 and says we would get a credit of 400 since we have already paid that. However he then tells my husband it will be $5,800! My husband paid him! I wish I would have been there! I would have stopped it right there as I already didn’t know if I could trust him and felt a bit uneasy. Again I see a pattern... I called Clark and questioned him on the price discrepancy. He said he misspoke and what he meant was that 5,000 was closer to the price AFTER the discount! I call BS! Call Apple plumbing! Or AAA! This company will take you for a ride! I am so angry with myself for not going with my gut and telling them to leave that very first night! 😡

The toilet backed up into the tub. The snake kept getting caught because there was so much build up in the pipes (saw it with my own eyes), but they were able to clear it out well enough to use. I opted to go with the spot repair on the sewer line in the front yard, rather than have it happen again somewhere down the road. They were able to start the project the next day and everything went very smoothly. The guys were all very professional and repairs were done pretty quick. They were also able to finance interest free for a year through Wells Fargo. A+ work!

DO NOT use Rooter Town Plumbing. We called to have them come and snake our tub drain, which took TWO different people to get anything done. Drain ended up working slightly better after a few days, but then we began to have a leak down the side of our tub that wasn’t there before. We had another tech come out a week or so later, he told us that they had to completely remove the tub and toilet to be able to get a camera in to inspect our pipes. Then apparently there was more leakage in the pipes than they anticipated, so they removed our drywall as well, and replaced more piping. We are up to about $9000 from start to finish with these people. After a few months of our bathroom completely demolished in our basement, our contractor came out to put the tub and toilet back together. As it turns out, the fittings were completely incorrect in the tub. The drain elbow is where the overflow should be, and the overflow is where the drain should be. This in itself is an issue, but they also decided to concrete all the piping to the floor, so that my contractor would have to charge us significantly more to fix their mistakes (which would be ripping up concrete again and replacing pipes). I told the tech these issues, and he did not apologize or say anything constructive. He told me “we fit tubs to a standard size”-that literally doesn’t matter at this point, they put the fittings in wrong and cemented them down. After waiting 20 minutes for him to talk to his manager, he said he could get a 1’x1’ concrete slab removed, a WEEK later. Taking out concrete takes such little time, my husband could do it with a sledge hammer in a half hour. With how much money we spent ($9,000), one would think they’d care enough to come out same day and crack some concrete. I am so beyond frustrated with this company, they were the ones who made our tub leak in the first place and now when we ask them to fix their idiotic job, they give us the least they can possibly do. We cancelled this concrete removal job and are going with a different contractor, I am absolutely done having these people in my home. Do yourself a favor and never use this company. They will rip you off and then shrug their shoulders.

Beware of this rip-off! Rooter Town wanted to charge me $375 for an hour job AFTER the supposed $55 discount, which would have made it $430/hour. REALLY? I was suckered into thinking they were a discount plumber with the $95 rooter service and the $55 discount come-on, which was obviously baked in to their costs. They wouldn’t give me any idea what a simple installation of a Costco garbage disposal I already bought would be when I called. But I saw all these great reviews and mistakenly thought their ad was legit but they were actually bulls**t. On top of being a rip-off, they blew my tenants and I off completely the first day and came late the rescheduled second day, wasting two afternoons for 3 people. If it was my apartment, I would have dealt with the sink and sent them on their way with their outrageous estimate. But because I am a caring landlord, I ended up paying $320 for their hour work because I didn’t want my tenants to deal with a bad disposal after already wasting two afternoons. Don’t you get hosed like I did.
