This company goes by several names and websites: Disaster Restoration Inc, Restoration Logistics. Either way they are a terrible operation and you should avoid doing business with them at all costs! They will swindle you and your insurance company with outrageous fees and charges for minimal work. A few years ago we had a water pipe burst and minor flooding into one basement bedroom soaking the carpet. I fixed the leak and shopvac'd most of the water myself but realized the clean up and drying out was beyond my abilities. A couple of guys from DRI came out - a fast talking "sales" guy and a big burly "helper" (Reminded me of George and Lenny from Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men'). These two guys proceeded to rip up the foam carpet padding and haul it away in their truck. They setup a couple of room fans to dry out the carpet and left. All together they spent maybe 2 hours doing the work. We did not hear from or see the guys again for more than a week when they came to pick up their fans. A little while later we get the bill: They wanted almost $3000 dollars! Included with the invoice is a vague and confusing itemization of the work and measurements of a room that does not match our basement. They charged outlandish hourly "rental" fees to run the fans for the whole week even though I personally turned them off after a couple of days when the carpet was dry. Our insurance settlement paid off about 2/3 or their charges (after deductible) leaving a balance of around $1000. We disputed the charges and withheld payment. All we wanted was to talk to the owner and get an accurate accounting of the work performed but nobody ever bothered to call us. After that every 6 months or so we would receive a statement in the mail but received no response when we would call or write back asking to talk to someone about it. Finally we wrote a stern letter (on the advice of an attorney) stating that unless we received a detailed statement validating the charges we would consider the matter closed and any further attempts to collect would be met with litigation. (I still have all the correspondence). That's when the collection agencies started calling....and calling....and calling. Each time we told them why we were refusing to pay and said the only way we would settle is if someone from the company would call and talk to us about it. Another year of this goes by and we finally come to the breaking point after learning they had placed a lein on our property. We settled for partial payment of the balance. I am still not happy about it and would sue them on principle if I had the time and resources. Still to this day we have never recieved a call from anybody at the company or an explaination as to how they can justify $3000 of charges for 2 hours worth of work. Don't get ripped off like we did. Use anybody else but these guys!

Poor quality work. Drywall has obvious seems where it was replaced. Painting has crooked edges and unpainted spots. Took 6 months to do a job they said would take two weeks. Never, never do they return phone calls. Finally told them never to come back and then finished the job myself. BEWARE!
Description of Work: Repaired water damage from freezing pipes. Replaced drywall, textured drywall, painting and replacing carpet.

DRI was very helpful in a terrible situation where we lost our whole interior of the house. They came right away to see the situation and determine what they could save and what they couldn't. They cleaned many of our items which were valuable and they helped us get rid of all the rest. They were helpful and understanding, but expensive.
Description of Work: When we had a house fire, DRI was the first company we called on recommendation of the fire department. They helped us go through the house, save what we could that wasn't totally burned or smoke damaged. They took it all to their company and cleaned it all with various chemicals, then stored it in boxes so we could store it until our house was rebuilt.
