Description of Work: This was a wonderful experience working with this company! They did a great job on our stamped & colored patio. They were priced great, punctual, highly organized (iPad and all), efficient, and arrived with the right equipment to get the job done quickly. They even put in a nice touch by asking us if we wanted our kids to put some light imprints into the patio. Between all the work on our old house getting it ready to sell and all of the work on our new construction house, we've dealt with a lot of contractors in the last few months. By far, these guys were one of the best we've worked with and it was a real pleasure doing business with them. They get an A+ from us!

Description of Work: I had nothing but a great experience with professional concrete works. They did a wonderful job on my driveway, front walk, front step, and sidewalk. The price was great, the work was great, they were on time just as they said, and I would use them again. For this job, they stamped the entire front walk and step as well as the border around our driveway. The results speak for themselves as we have had friends already ask for their information. If I have only had 1 negative about the job, they broke a small water glass on my garage floor and nobody told anybody about it. As the glass was only about 50 cents, I don't find it to be a big deal, but that is why they got a B on professionalism. I would still use them again period.

Once we locked this down, Jesus immediately secured the required permits and let me know when they would be able to start. In fact, they finished up a job they had been working on a little earlier than they originally planned and were able to start two days early which was great! Every day that Jesus and his team of Jesus (a different Jesus) and Jose showed up, they started early (typically before 7:30) and worked late (often past 6:30) and made substantial progress every day. The project began with the removal of all of the concrete in the back and then completed the preparation for the concrete pour. Once the concrete was poured, it was stamped and etched as we requested and the finished product was incredible! When I expressed concern over the concrete splatter in a few places, Jesus assured me that it would be taken care of with their cleanup and he was right on the money. They cleaned everything and removed the splatter wherever it was present. With the back complete, they then went to work on the sidewalk, my driveway, and then the front of the house. All of the work was done beautifully! The seams for everything, the colors for the stamped concrete as well as the shapes for the concrete are all perfect! As for the removal of the waste, Jesus and his crew did a great job with that and did not leave anything behind. Overall, I cannot adequately express how happy my wife and I are with the work which was performed here. Even aside from the the actual work itself, dealing with Jesus was a pleasure. He is very professional, courteous, and accommodating. He offers suggestions as appropriate, and acknowledges and addresses concerns immediately to your satisfaction. Needless to say, we are very satisfied with Professional Concrete Works and would more than highly recommed them!
Description of Work: My house was built in 1940 and the exterior of the house required a major renovation. We live on a corner lot and all of the sidewalk was chewed up, the walkways in the back were cracked and raised due to the roots from bushes which had been here for years, and the back patio had major cracks and needed to be replaced. Also, the front walkway to the house was directed to the corner which was very inconvenient for us and the front porch was in a major state of disrepair. Needless to say, this would be a major renovation project replacing all of this. As we embarked on making these upgrades, we used our favorite resource, Angie's List, to select and solicit bids from few contractors and discuss the possibilities. I reached out to three highly rated contractors who had good portfolios with great pictures on their websites. The first one to respond was Jesus and, on his initial visit he gave me an on-the-spot estimate. He was very courteous and professional all the way. He followed up with the formal bid via email on the same day. The other contractors were more difficult to get a hold of and even after they visited, there were delays in obtaining the bids. Once all bids were in, one was about the same price as Jesus' quote but the other was more than $4,000 higher. Given the price difference, the level of responsiveness of each, and the fact that I was immediately comfortable with Jesus, I decided to go with Jesus.

Called March 27th to set up an appointment for an estimate. Received the estimate for the job on March 30th. He was late but he did call to inform me he was running late and did apologize. I called back the next day to schedule the work and was told I'd receive a call back to set it up for April 4th or 5th to coincide with another job in the area. They never called back so I went with another contractor.

Jesus is as easy to work with as any contractor could be. He started when he said he would, and he and his workers did great work and worked fast. Jesus was able to handle some small changes I made without any trouble, and he never tried to jack up the price for little adjustments. His final price was the same as the original bid, and everything looks great. He was close to the lowest bidder, but the work is top-notch.
Description of Work: Jesus removed and replaced a front walk, installed a large front patio, replaced a sidewalk along the side and back of the house, and replaced the concrete around my walk-in basement door. They colored and stamped the concrete.

Jesus from PCW was easy to work with and did quality work. His estimate was inline with what I estimated the project at and was also lower than the competition. He completed the work in half a day which was about half the time the other contractors estimated. He was very accommodating when I asked to include specifics in the construction agreement regarding liability and liquidated damages in case they went over schedule (which did not happen).
Description of Work: The job was to remove a deteriorated 5' x 15' concrete driveway skirt and 29' x 3' sidewalk with two steps and replace in kind.

NO SHOWED on us after my husband and I left work early to accomodate his schedule!!!! My husband emailed him, but he never responded. I called and scheduled a visit at our home for Friday. Then we called to try and reschedule for Saturday, but he never returned our call. Jesus had complete and utter disrespect for our precious time!

We got three bids for our project. We needed a patio poured in our back yard, and decided to double the size to make it a wrap-around porch. The project was approximately 505 square feet.We selected Professional Concrete Works based upon the reveiws from Angie's List, and also on the price. All three bids came in within $300 of each other, but what set Professional Concrete Works apart for us was Jesus' enthusiasm and professionalism, and the fact that they could start the job within the next 5 days. Again, not to say that the others were unprofessional at all....they all spent the time to walk us through the bid, answer our questions, etc., and all three showed up the same day that we called. One of the deciding factors was that we wanted to also include a small slab of concrete in front of our main stoop out front that had settled badly over time. it was approx. 4' x 4' (16 sq. feet) of concrete, and Jesus didn't hesitate to include it for free. They were also able to pour it in traditional grey concrete, which is what we wanted to match the sidewalk. The other companies would have also included it, but they said that it would have to be the same "color" of concrete as they were going to use for the back patio, to save on costs, etc. Jesus was using a stain on the surface of the concrete, which some people might not like- prefering totally colored concrete, but that was no problem for us. In fact, using the concrete stain allowed us to get the border in a completely different color, which we really liked. Another benefit was that Professional Concrete Works used a 4,000 PSI concrete mix and rebar. The other companies used 3,200 to 3,500 PSI concrete and wire mesh. Again, it is for a patio, and not a driveway, so it would have probably been o.k. regardless, but we felt that we got good quality for the money. I had wanted to start the project on Friday, but from the time I received the bid to the time I made my decision, Jesus said that he had just booked another job, so he promised to start on Saturday, which was no problem. Then, to my surprise, he called my wife on Wednesday and said that they could start on Friday, afterall. I was traveling on business, and hoped to be home by Friday to watch the work, but due to a delay in flights, my wife was left to do it herself. Again, Jesus and team really stepped it up and worked with my wife in the layout and design and were happy to give us exactly what we wanted. We opted to trust Jesus' judgement on the layout, and boy, what a nice surprise! Jesus staked out a nice curving wave pattern which fit the bill just perfectly. When I finally made it home on Friday evening to inspect the layout, I was extremely happy. The design made the porch feel even bigger than what we expected to get for the money!Friday they laid out the design. Saturday, they really got to work and laid out the rebar and poured the concrete. They also textured/stamped it and really took their time to do a great job. Sunday, they power-washed it and sealed it....and it looks GREAT! Jesus and team showed up every day before they promised....Friday they were here about 6:30 am. Saturday, they were also here at 6:30 am, and this moring (Sunday), they showed up at about 8:50 am (because they were using the cutting saw and making noise, they were respectful to not start at 7:00 am!) Every morning they showed up at least 10 minutes early and knocked out the project in a total of aout 12 hours over 3 days. Great work by Jesus' team. You can trust them. His ideas are great. He always checks with you at each phase o the project to tell you what he is doing, and ask you if you like it. Before he leaves, he tells you what he will be doing the next day and when he will show up. I have NO PROBLEM recommending this company to friends, family, and others on Angie's list! Thank you, Jesus!
Description of Work: We wanted to have a concrete patio poured, stamped and colored for our back yard. This project was approx 505 square feet of concrete, and we also wanted to have a small 4' x 4' pad replaced in front of our front porch. We originally got a bid to do this project in 2 parts....a replacement of the old patio, which was approx. 280 square feet, or the option to wrap the patio around the side of the house, too, which I had always wanted to do since it was just dirt and concrete stepping stones. Based upon the price, I opted to do the full project at once, afterall, and am very happy we did.

They did a very professional job, and were very quick and efficient - I think they got everything done within a few days of our first meeting. They used a higher strength concrete than the other companies and were very similar in price. They were diligent about the concrete finish - making it very smooth. He came back the following day and cut the groove lines. If I had it to do over again, the one change I would have them make the groove lines by hand with a groove tool because it looks nicer (though it takes a bit more time). Jesus worked with me on what it was I wanted to do, even making some changes while preparing for the final pour. He is very skilled with concrete, and I will use him this spring to do my decorative concrete work as well.

Extremely satisfactory experience from the estimate through the finished driveway. Jesus Soto came to the house shortly after my call. He described every detail of his intention for the new driveway and answered all of our questions. His standards were higher and his bid was lower than a previous estimate. The next day Jesus and his co-worker began the job at 7 a.m. and removed the old driveway by noon. They didn't pour that day since it was about to rain. The next day they arrived at 6 a.m. and began work. The entire job was finished by 10 a.m. The driveway is beautiful! Jesus and his co-worker are very polite and friendly. He said he has a "passion" for his work and it certainly shows. I looked at other reviews on Angie's list where they complained that the owner was a "curmudgeon". Jesus is the antithesis. He was delightful. (He also does stamped concrete and his portfolio shows beautiful work.)

We are ecstatic over the finish product. Jesus and crew were very punctual and professional in every step of the project. They worked extremely hard each day, were careful around our property, cleaned up after themselves, and offered very relevant suggestions. We will not hesitate to both use Jesus again for our future projects or refer him to our friends.

It went great. Before doing any work, I interviewed a total of 5 companies listed on Angie's List for a job replacing 2 concrete walkways and a patio with plain gray concrete. The quotes were $1900 from one company, a ridiculous $3600 (from another company), and several others at $1900, $2200, and $2800. The owner, Jesus Soto, offered an option to do full colored/stamped/sealed concrete for only $500 more at $2400, which is an un-heard-of amazing price. The others were all significantly higher for colored & stamped concrete. I wasn't previously considering getting the colored variety, but the price was so good that I went for it. Throughout the entire process, Jesus was very patient and provided lots of information. Unlike most of the other contractors, he gave me a written quote ON THE SPOT for the job right when he was still there after taking measurements! Even though everything seemed great, I was still a little unsure about starting mostly because of his lack of reviews on Angie's List. I felt like I needed to see some of his work in person. So he actually came by on a Sunday morning and drove me all over town showing me about 4 different jobs. (I hope he writes down those addresses so everyone doesn't have to trouble him to do that.) The jobs were all fantastic (!) so I agreed to hire him on the spot. I'm really glad I did. The work was started 1 day later, done in 2 days flat, and done very well. I couldn't believe how fast he ripped out all the old concrete. I asked for the new surfaces to be made extra thick at 5" or 6" instead of 4" or 5", for which he only charged an extra $100 for a total price of $2500. I hope that more people post reviews on here for Jesus-he's really that good. I'd recommend him or hire him again in a second. Get a quote-you'll be glad you did!
Description of Work: Removal and replacement of 2 walkways and a patio, including 2 steps. Installation included widening of all areas, 4000psi concrete, rebar & mesh, temporary support of porch roof. The new concrete included full color (orange-brownish), rock-look texturing, and diagonal saw cuts. The work looks extremely professional and many of my neighbors have stopped by to say good things. Dimensions for the 3 portions were approximately 4'x22', 20'x8', and 4'x22' (all these dimensions are 1' wider than the old concrete). Thickness was 5-6".
