We were referred to Ozark via a prestigious landscaping design firm who was too busy this season to take on a fence project. I'll break apart the goods and the bads because I want to give an honest review. GOODS - The fence looks nice - They were able to start constructing it quickly - The crew was nice BADS - One night a crew member locked our gate to our driveway, to which we didn't have a key. I was trying to leave to pick my baby up from daycare and literally couldn't drive out of my property. I had to call both Ken and Karen 10+ times before they answered. They worked as quick as they could to get the gate open but I had to have the daycare center bring my child home. Not the biggest deal and mistakes happen, but it was a stressful inconvenience. - The crew left soda bottles and food trash on our property every single day they were here. - Ken offered to have his crew fix a city owned fence across from our property. Boards had fallen over and he was going to have them pick them up. This didn't happen. Again, not a big deal but I just wish he hadn't offered it and then decided not to do it. - The construction team asked if we wanted to install an extra gate, which required removing a tree stump. This wasn't originally quoted but was a good idea. I got on the phone with Ken and when I asked how much he said "ah well we'll see how the rest of the job goes but I can probably just throw that in for ya," It didn't get thrown in, I got charged $450 for it. After a big confrontation with Karen in front of my home, they took $150 off. - They put our front gate on backward... and took 4 weeks to come out and fix it. - Working with Karen, Ken's wife, was really difficult. She took a long time to respond to both emails and phone calls, didn't seem to know anything about our job and kept repeating over and over that "well I'm not on the job site, so I don't know." In our final exchange I pushed back on the extra costs of the stump and gate after weeks of slowly going back forth and she was rude, uncaring and demonstrated what I can kindly call a complete lack of customer service, empathy and professional behavior. I wish I could say that I would recommend Ozark, but I honestly can't. I think their construction is pretty good, but the communication was really awful and at the end it was aggressive and rude.

If you want very poor customer service, want to oversee the entire install process and still not have quality work, then this is your fence company! The owners, Ken and Karen, are very nice and were very responsive during the bidding process. However, once we contracted with them, it took forever to get the fence installed. We were told that the fence would be installed in just a couple of days. It took well over a month. I had to act as the contractor to make sure they did the job properly and even then they didn't get it right. The finish on my fence is ruined because they scraped it severely and drilled holes in the posts in the wrong places. Where they filled the holes, the patch job is awful. One of the gates they built was starting to rust before the job was even finished. One section of fence pulled out of the brackets. I recently had them out because one of our gates had slipped and the hinges had moved down the posts as a result of them not being installed correctly in the first place. They sent one guy out to fix the gate. He did a horrible job, created even more holes in the posts that had to be filled and spray painted and now the gate doesn't hang right. I have been in contact with Karen as to when we will be on the schedule to get this fixed and she always says she will get back to me. It is me chasing them down to get things done. I cannot recommend this company! We now have a $9,000 fence that looks like crap!

Ken Huelson came to the house on 4/9/14 to provide an estimate for a fence and two gates. The estimate was provided on 4/11/14. I think it was a fair price but I did not give it an and quot;Aand quot; because it lacked detail. However, because of work, I did not get back to him with an e-mail until 4/28/14. In that e-mail I requested he just focus on one gate and maybe we could afford the fence in the fall. I also provided specifics about the gate and I had a few questions. After not hearing back from him, on 5/5/14 I again responded with an e-mail asking if he was interested in doing the gate and that I understood if he was not. I asked that he let me know. No response to date. I understand being busy; however, I do not understand the concept of having so much work that you will not even respond to a potential customer. Must be nice!

We contacted them and they kept all appointments and were there when they promised. They built a fence that enclosed our backyard so the dogs could have space to run. The crew showed up and "busted their humps" building the fence and made sure that it was up to our expectation. We walked the proposed location of the fence and they had a couple recommendations as to the location and area. It proved to be very beneficial. They were very professional. They worked for 2 days and had the fence completed. They walked the completed fence with us for final inspection. They installed 2 gates and the gates work fantastic and are exactly what we wanted. I would recommend them for any fencing project that you have on your property.
Description of Work: Ozark built a fence for the backyard and done a fantastic job. Would use them again.

The professionalism of the Ozark team is very commendable. They not only gave us great pre-service, ( bidding the project based on measurement, product, wind velocity, etc.), they gave us a map of current work in the area that we could look at to see the quality of their work, etc.. The builders hand picked only the best quality cedar planks used on our fence, they showed up on time each day, kept the site clean and tidy, and completed the work on schedule.
Description of Work: Ozark Fence built a privacy fence for us in the Lookout Mountain area. The terrain is hilly and somewhat of a challenge, so we had to be very particular who we chose to do the work. Ozark not only gave us 100% satisfaction by constructing a fence that can take over 80 miles per hour winds, but is classy in appearance and blends in perfectly with our mountain setting.

After they completed the fence and left for the day, I went out and discovered they had ignored the property line and had placed at least one of the new posts onto my property. The fence still bows out over my property and is no where near straight. The next day I called the company and complained. The woman who answered said she was driving and requested I leave my name and number. No one has called back. When I talked to one of the workman the next day he argued that the post was not in my yard and that he had done nothing wrong. He then just walked away. I then drove over to city hall and inquired about Ozark, Inc. The building department told me they had no record of them, and that no permit had been issued for fence repair. They told me they would persue the matter, as a contractor repairing fences must be licensed and a permit issued for each such job.
Description of Work: My neighbor hired this company to repair a fence along our common property line. Mr. Huelsman nicely asked my permission for his employees to enter my property so they could repair the fence. I gave him that permission and made a couple of simple requests regarding the fence repair. He agreed. I also told him the fence was six inches onto my neighbor's property and that his plans for repair should keep the fence within the neighboring lot. And I reminded him that our city requires permits for fence repairs.
