Maria and Jose did not start the work when agreed, they started two weeks later when I was not at home to supervise. They promised to purchase special sanders to get the lap siding smooth, but never did. They borrowed a finish sander I had and destroyed it by sanding through the rubber mat and scoring the metal surface underneath. They consistently promised to complete the work within days and to meet my an ever-evolving schedule but never met any milestone or completion date promised. They took time off and did not consider working weekends to make up the schedule. I was forced to cancel personal trips and reschedule my International travel for work which was above and beyond the cost of the project (approximately $1,000 more). They finally finished in the dark on the last possible day, given my rescheduled travel. This left me one day to replace downspouts and porch screening that had been removed for their convenience. Throughout the job Maria was miserable to work with. She kept telling me her sad stories about her past and losing her sister. She would tell me about her aches and pains and how the job was tougher for her than she though. I think she was trying to play on my sympathies rather than focusing on the job and delivering a quality product. On days when Maria and Jose did not come to supervise, work slowed and there was minimal progress. I noticed the next day after completing the painting, in the daylight, they had missed a part of the trim around the porch. There were places where the sanding was not complete. There were places where they had not filled and other bare spots without paint. I made a list for my house-sitter to supervise their work, since I would not be back for months. I called Maria 3 times from Europe (international calls are not cheap) and got many excuses, my house-sitter called as well and finally she and Jose agreed to come out and finish the job. When they arrived they refused to paint the 7 feet of trim they missed around the porch, saying that would cost extra. They also refused to sand and fill the parts they missed. The only thing they did do was cover up the parts they missed painting. Overall I found Maria Nunez to be extremely unprofessional, self-absorbed and not the least bit concerned about the importance of schedule and delivering a quality product. I am now back from my international travel, it is Winter, and I will have to look at the poor quality of the job until Spring when I will have to get out there and fix it myself. I will NEVER call the Nunez's again or recommend them to anyone.
