He did a really good job. This guy is really prompt at coming out and dealing with my customer and did a good job. He did a great job. The price was reasonable. On the punctuality, I think it was good.

In order to make sure that the mortar matched the current mortar, they came by in the morning and did a test strip, let it dry and then returned to do the work. They were friendly and professional, responsive (we had one company that never returned our call), and the cost was reasonable. Their work looks great. Thank you.

Excellent. Chuck and his son were great. They showed up on time, were unobtrusive as can be when wielding a grinder, and cleaned up after they finished. The work was excellent! They even spotted a few extra cracks and repaired those as well! I would hire them again without even looking around!

Chuck was very good about returning my calls and answering all my questions and working around my schedule. Adam dismantled the bricks over two days, a tedious and physically demanding job. All the bricks and debris were cleaned up. I was very satisfied with their work. Chuck and Adam and the rest of the crew were very pleasant and friendly.
Description of Work: Removed top 1/3 of chimney, capped off the top using Portland cement with steel-re-bar base. Hauled away bricks and debris, caulked outside and inside of chimney.

Chuck and his crew arrived on time and completed the demolition on the first day. They were extremely cautious with the demolition and cleaned up the work area every day. They finished the job in 5 days.Every aspect of their job was impeccable. I was a home builder for 10 years and never had a brick mason as good as Mr. Chimney.
Description of Work: Adam replaced the top four courses of 1950's pink stone on the top of the chimney with the brick of our choosing. He also made a new concrete chimney cap.Secondly, Adam replaced the same type of pink stone on a 25'x24'x24' planter in the front of the house with the new brick.I also had Chuck do a LOT of tuck pointing on the house.

Chimney Chuck came to my house the next day after I called him for an estimate. Once he gave the estimate I decided to go with him later that day so I called him and he came a couple days later to do the work. He arrived at the time he specified and worked on the project all day (with his son). I was concerned he wouldn't be able to match up the replacement bricks with the current bricks, but he did a good job, you can not even tell which bricks were from the original work and which bricks he put on. The original work work had some odd colored poorly attached bricks from the previous owner, he sawed them off and replaced them. You can see that from the photos. He cleaned up after his work was complete and was pleasant to work with.

We hired Chuck to do some chimney repair, bracing, and tuckpointing and also decided to use him for tuckpointing our house. He was a little difficult to reach - it would take a couple days to hear back by phone and the written quotes were hard to get from him. He also started the work a week later than he said he would, which would not have been a problem, except that I had to call him to find out why he wasn't there. He and his son-in-law performed all the work and were professional while they were there. We felt the chimney work went fairly well at the time (see below though). However, a few weeks later we noticed water coming down the wall of one of our bedrooms after a rainstorm - turns out there is a 6 inch hole in the roof letting water in, and this hole is very close to the chimney that they were working on. I cannot say for sure that they caused this hole, but I think it is more likely than not. Chuck never mentioned any falling bricks or other problems. The tuckpointing work was okay. It is definitely obvious where he tuckpointed, as the mortar is a different shade and composition. Later, I also found out that with our historic 100+ yr old home, the mortar is composed of a totally different material (lime) than is used today (Portland cement). This is a potential issue because the bricks were softer then and required softer mortar. However, they used a Portland cement based mortar which may crack the bricks over time. Needless to say, I am not happy about that either. Because of these two issues, I would not recommend using this company.

Great. This is the second time we have used Chuck- and when we tuck point the whole house, we will use him again. He is punctual, does good work, and does it at a good price. He is always so polite and appreciative and you can tell he works hard. He always gets the job done in the amount of time he says its going to take which tells me he has a lot of experience! High recommendations!

Chuck came to our home and walked around the exterior and explained what needed to be done and gave me a bid. I also needed some stucco repair done which he told me he didn't do -- which I appreciated -- because I had another man give me a bid who told me he doesn't ordinarily do stucco, but could do it, and put that in his bid. I didn't want someone to practice his stucco skills on my house, so I did not select him. Of the three bids I got, Chuck's was mid range, but from the way he described the work, he seemed to be the most professional. He matched the mortar color exactly and did an excellent job. Gave me a ten year warranty on his work.

Called Chuck and two days later the work was complete. There were no surprises and he would not take any money upfront.

Description of Work: Minor tuck point around the main house, replaced brick on front patio, minor tuck point around the garage, rebuilt corner area of garage, replaced bricks on the top of the garage. I had 3 companies bid on the work and Mr. Chimney was the lowest bid (their bid was $1150, another company which I can't recall the name of was around $1400 and another company wanted $2900). They did quality work and showed up when they said they would. My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that it took him a while to return phone calls.

Chuck provided a timely estimate, arrived when he said he would and finished the job to specs. It took him about a day more than he had estimated, but he did a thorough job, even doing work that hadn't shown up in a first walk around the house, and met the estimate. He and his son do the work. He's personable and honest.

Chuck came out to the house quick to give me an estimate. I found the estimate to be quite reasonable, so asked him to go ahead with the work. Within 3 days of agreeing to the estimate he came to the house and completed the work within 1 day. I was very pleased with the quality of work, and even had another contractor (doing seperate work for me) comment on the quality & appearance.

Chuck scheduled an estimate (on short notice) for tuck pointing and brick replacement on the house, chimney and garage. House built in 1939, so old bricks and mortar were difficult to match. We picked the highest priority areas, and he started about a week later. Work was finished in 2 days (as promised). Bricks and mortar color were matched well. Because work needed to get done quickly, Mr. Chimney was only company to provide estimate, so price comparison is incomplete.

Chuck was extremely polite and initially thought he could repair our brick chimney but it was in such disrepair that it needed to be rebuilt entirely. Adam, who works as a mason for Chuck rebuilt the chimney and he did a great job. The crew did a great job cleaning up and they were very professional. Overall, we are very happy with the service and the price.
