OVERALL, I HAVE AVOIDED FURTHER CONTACT WITH THE MANAGER, AND THE CEO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, SINCE THURSDAY MARCH 8TH. A MONTH AGO I CONTACTED H.U.D., IN DENVER WHO WERE SYMPATHETIC TO MY SITUATION BUT COULD NOT REQUIRE THE CORPORATE MONROE GROUP TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT SECOND HAND SMOKING ENTERING MY APARTMENT OR THE LOUD TV COMING UP FROM THE WALLS RIGHT UNDER MY APARTMENT. THAT WOMAN IS DEAF AND LETS HER TV RUN ALL NIGHT. I CANT AFFORD TO MOVE AND I WOULD PREFER TO STAY HERE AND LIVE IN PEACE AND QUIET AS H.U.D. RULES AND THE APARTMENT HOUSE RULES DO SPECIFY. UPDATE: The original intimidation, threat of violance, power/control and harrassment perpetrated by the man who resides in 2D occured on Febuary 7th 2012. On the morning of Friday March 16th, the manager finally presented me with a copy of my lease just as I was leaving at 8:30AM to keep the appointment to seek additional remidies and help in this matter. But in the meantime I had found my original copies of the lease for Manor II, and it's House Rules. All I want to do is enjoy the peace and quiet of a smoke-free apartment and an apartment free of an inordinate amount of TV noise, for my residence in Manor II, apartment 2C, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado...
Description of Work: I AM AN ELDERLY, HANDICAPED, WOMAN CONFINED TO A WHEEL CHAIR FOR MOBILITY. I LIVE IN A H.U.D., PRIVATELY OWNED APARTMENT COMPLEX IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO. BOTH LOUD TV NOISES INTER MY APARTMENT AND I AM EXPOSED TO HEALTH HAZZARD, SECOND HAND SMOKE WHICH THE MONROE GROUP HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS. MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR HAS BEEN SMOKING WITH HIS DOOR OPEN AND I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE HE WAS NOT ACTUALLY SMOKING IN THE HALLWAY THERE WAS NO REMEDY. I ASKED HIM A FEW WEEKS AGO TO "PLEASE CLOSE HIS DOOR IF HE WAS SMOKING AGAIN WITH IT OPEN. HE CAME OUT INTO THE HALL CURSING ME AND SPITTING FOOD IN MY FACE. I CALLED THE POLICE BUT BECAUSE HE DID NOT PHYSICALLY ASSAULT ME THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AS WELL. BECAUSE THE POLICE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING THE MANAGER REFUSED TO EITHER AND HER CEO SUPPORTED HER. THOUGH THEY DID PUT WEATHER STRIPPING ON MY DOOR AND HIS. THE STENCH CONTINUES TO FILTER THROUGH SINCE THE BUILDING HAS A STRUCTURAL BREAK OR CRACK IN THE CONCRETE BUILDING FROM THE 6TH FLOOR ON DOWN TO THE BASEMENT. THE MANAGER HAS APPROACHED ME TWICE WITH A LOUD VOICE, (I AM NOT HARD OF HEARING AT ALL) WHICH MADE IT HARD TO UNDERSTAND HER. THE LAST TIME SHE YELLED AT ME IN THE HALL OUT SIDE OF MY OPEN DOOR AS I HAD OPENED IT TO HER, SHE FINALLY DID REACH IN TO PULL MY DOOR CLOSED. I HAD ASKED HER TO "PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE". WHEN I TALKED TO THE COMPANY CEO ABOUT THIS NEW INCIDENT SHE CALLED ME A LIAR. I PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING NOW AND THE MANAGER REFUSES TO READ MY MESSAGE. I REQUESTED A COPY OF MY LEASE AND CONTRACT/HOUSE RULES FOR TOMORROW MORNING, THREE TIMES, TO NO AVAIL. AS I COULD NOT FIND MY COPY.
