The serviceman flipped the breaker on a blow fuse and verbally described what needed to be done. Con--The serviceman did not leave an estimate for other work described (which would prevent future blown fuses like the one he serviced) nor did the company email the estimate as promised. I left two messages hoping to get a copy of the estimates, but no one responded. For $99 I'm happy they found the switch that had eluded us, but I hoped for much more.
Description of Work: Used $99 labor coupon because we had a blown fuse.

I looked over our computer records and cannot seem to locate a customer by this name, however the description of the call certainly sounds like one we ran, so, I must assume somehow we did make a mistake. I try to train my guys to always leave paper with the customers of our written invoice even if we are not collecting for service done, and the other copy comes in to the office. I even tried to find a copy of what things we were to supposed to estimate in my files and can find nothing. Once in a while something is going to slip by us. We try not to let that happen but it does. I shall endeavor to put out more training on our methods because we did not take care of this customer total needs. My apologies are extended to this customer.

Bought a deal to get a couple hours of service. Contractor complained several times about angies list deal saying he was coerced into signing up for it. His quoted price without coupon was similar to what I had to pay with coupon. As far as I can discern, the job was completed well.
Description of Work: Contractor installed a plug in to my main electric panel so that I could plug a generator directly into my house circuits in case of power outage.

The process went well. I purchased an Angie's List coupon for the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and installation. Martin included the 8-point inspection. On the day before installation, Martin called to ask if I wanted to move up my appointment. After confirming availability, I agreed to the change. Martin stayed in contact with me until Don could call me for confirm my availability. Don arrived, as we agreed, with his apprentice. They professionally evaluated the job site, started installation, inspection and estimation services. They were finished before the estimated time. Don suggested that I needed to fix broken receptables to pass a home inspection. I agreed and he left briefly to pick up the correct color of receptables. He estimated another time period, but after he returned, he and the apprentice finished the job expeditiously. Even though I didn't expect the additional cost, after I reviewed the range of cost for this service, I found it to be reasonable. Martin, Don and Christian were professional and courteous. I'm sure if I have any problems they would react promptly to fix them. I highly recommend Mighty Bee Electric.
Description of Work: Installation of a hard wired combo smoke/carbon monoxide detector and a hard wired smoke detector. Performance of an 8-point electrical inspection. Confirmation of type of wiring in the condo. Estimation of replacement of broken receptacles. Installation of 5 new receptables. Do - Expect some additional cost after estimate and suggestions for the electrician. Do - Ask questions if you don't understand something and need more information. Don was very patient with my questions as I completed a seller's disclosure for listing the condo for sale.

I bought the $1599 AngiesList coupon for panel replacement and upgrade to 200A. I hired MightyBee to do the work, based on excellent reviews on AngiesList. Along the way, we modified the scope to include the installation of whole-house surge protection and several additional breakers. MightyBee also installed additional circuits in the basement and garage. Martin and Don both worked on the project and all went well with no problems. Martin and Don were knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to work with. I was completely satisfied with the quality of the work, and feel the price was reasonable. I am planning more electrical work soon and will use MightyBee for this. I highly recommend them.

Performed the inspection, listing things that should be fixed. A few were recommendations. The price of the services recommended was very high... $85 to replace a single hardwired smoke detector. I paid $40 for the best smoke detector, ion/photo, $4 for a universal fitting and 10 min to replace it. That adds up. $127 for each ceiling fan to switch around. I believe that's too much.

Well, I will say I am sorry this customer is unhappy. Of course, I am also going to respond. There have been actual studies that have proven beyond any shadow of doubt that somewhere between 2-3% of any business's customers exist to make that business unhappy. Translation is, you simply cannot please ALL the people All the time. But we try anyway and I think our record shows that by winning the "Super Service Award" three years running. This person forgets that we also use most of the time the highest quality parts we can AND we warranty those same. The only time we don't is when that part cost is obviously NOT in your best interests. And he forgets that, at least for the moment, I stand firm to my own personal commitment to not charge a trip fee to "most" of my Angie's List members except those in outlying areas. I sincerely hope I can maintain that commitment. They also forget that I think nearly $4 per gallon of gas and $4 per pound for meat or more is too much. Rent is too high and my taxes are too! My business costs are going up starting this month due to our present administration. The man who works for me has 3 children to feed, and I have an office and insurance to maintain, and a wife. He goes TO his doctor's office and still probably pays money for that privilege and yet we come to him to make repairs. Most of my mainstream competitors charge MORE than I do for the trip fee (for everyone) and as much as 3 times my prices for their services. I even give 10% discount for my first time customers, of which he was one. That's pretty good if you ask me! Now, I want to mention one more thing. He would have a professional doing the work. This weekend I had to work Saturday, which I usually do not because my family is important to me. But I had to go to a friends house no less, who had a fire because they did NOT have a pro do the work. Result? A fire that required me, a Master, to come out and certify that their house was ok to move back in to AFTER making the needed repairs, thousands of dollars in repairs coming up and inconvenience. Not to mention the fear they experienced and they had an 88 year old mother in that house. Folks, my own families house burned when I was like about 10. I KNOW what that is like and I don't want any of you to experience it. I wish I had the ability to upload pictures in my response. They could have lost their whole house as it was an old one with NONE of the fire containment things used today in new homes. That, is the absolute bottom line. I hope each of you have a good day, and a safe one.

They ran into a lot of problems as it is an old house with bad wiring, they corrected every problem they ran into. They came out for an estimate on New Year's Eve and started the work right away. It got more extensive than they realized it would be, but came back on New Year's Day to keep working on it. I am very happy with job they did and their commitment to get everything up to code.,

Do use him for electrical. Do use him for basic electricial work. Do not ask his advice on what would work for you in the above type of situation. Pllese note I do not remember the exact dae and I do not remember the cost. Those fields must be filled in and I cannot finish this report for you without putting in soemthing ergo the above info is incorrect but at least you have the report .
Description of Work: The wiring was done properly, neatly and efficiently. It was very important to me that I have the light go on automatically when it was evening and that thae fixture was functional and eye appealing. I was a bit ambigious re the type of light. We talked and the I went to shop for the fixture. Had search issues with the type of fixture and where it would be installed. The suggested type would not work in the exisiting situation. As I went arround to stores with his suggestions in mind (very tedious and frustrating) I finally finally reconsidered picked out something else and found the best one for my situation. He said it would work and did the installation job. Then when he installed the light detector it fit inside the holder to the point where it could not decipher night from day so it was on constantly. I finally figured out the problem - got a different light innsert and all is well. It was a lot of work for me. He is good at the electrical part.

Working with MightyBee was excellent. They went out of their way to get me back up and running prior to the holiday. The install was very well done. Everything was clean and care was taken to make the new service panel and meter housing blend into the existing aluminum siding. The two new grounding rods and grounding wire that was run to the water main were installed out of the way and without any drywall repairs required. They really worked with me and made sure I knew what the new install would take. They were good about getting the permit pulled and the inspection scheduled. My only minor complaint is that due to sickness and injuries of some of the MightyBee staff, communication wasn't always as smooth as it could be. I do not believe that is normal for the folks at MightyBee and would have no issues using them in the future.
Description of Work: I had originally asked the fine folks from MightyBee to come do an electrical inspection as we had low voltage at some outlets and flickering lights. Between the time I called them and the service date, my electric meter and meter housing gave up the ghost and I was without power to half of my house. Martin juggled some appointments to make sure we would have power during Thanksgiving. They came out on Tuesday, gave everything a once over, and suggested a service upgrade to a 200 amp box for a minor price increase over the meter housing replacement. They got to work right away, and by the end of the day I had power restored to my house. Finishing the install took some time, due to injuries, holidays, and other scheduling issues, but I was never concerned that the job would go unfinished.

The Customers were certainly fine folks to work with and were quite understanding considering some of the difficulties we were experiencing. People who understand life are a pleasure to be around. That meter going bad was a little scary but we got it handled and allowed them a decent Thanksgiving. We had to move some camping gear to make way for their new ground wire and the customer jumped right in right now and we got it moved with my help. Thank you for your kind comments and Happy New Year!

It went well overall. He came and gave me my estimate, evaluated the coupon from Angie's list and explained why he would need to charge 250 dollars extra for the job (coupon was a new electrical panel for 1599). He set up inspections, installed the appliance, and set up inspections afterwards. From the beginning to the end of the job there was good communication. I cannot stress more that the price for this job was great. The Wire nut had quoted a price for the same job twice as high.
Description of Work: Martin replaced our electrical panel. It was only 50amps and meant we could not get air conditioning. Martin upgraded our electrical panel to 150amps. I liked working with him right off the bat. I bought a coupon for Mighty Bee Electric from Angie's list. When he came to my house to sure up the estimate, he tried very hard to make sure he stayed within the coupon. I had to pay an extra 250 dollars but that did not bother me. Wire nut had come out a few weeks earlier and quoted the job close to 4000. Martin did the same job for half the price. I believe his work was quality and he did not cut corners because of the large drop in price. I was pleased with is professionalism. He also took the time explaining things in a way I could easily understand. I was pleased with Martin and MIghty Bee Electric for the money they saved while still performing a quality job.

So many of our customers have older homes with little bitty panels because in that day people did not have all of the modern conveniences available today. Also the technology in the circuit breakers was not near as good as todays stuff. Those little panels make it hard to upgrade your home appliances, hard to run microwaves, air conditioners, Hot tubs or jetted tubs. Nice to be of service and help someone create the home they want to be happy with and yet provide them with it safely.

GFCI receptacles are another of those electrical safety products that can have real meaning. They are designed to protect people from themselves really. If you drop an electric razor, or a radio in to the sink for example your natural reaction is to reach and pull it out whether it is still plugged in or not and chances are IT IS! These receptacles trip WAAAY faster that a circuit breaker does thus protecting our lives. I'm always up for safety upgrades!!

They came, they worked, and they completed everything as they said they would, in the time they said it would take. No problems whatsoever.
Description of Work: Rodney and Martin upgraded my electrical box to 200 AMPS. I cannot say enough good things about Might Bee, and Rodney and Martin. Rodney was professional, friendly, took time to explain things to me and worked very hard, even though he was suffering from Walking Pneumonia at the time. That guy just doesn't give up! Martin came out when a second person was needed and was also very professional. They both are highly knowledgable about their field. The utility company had to lengthen a few wires to hook the electrical box up to their new meter, but didn't seem concerned about it, so I wasn't concerned. My spending amount also includes all the fees for all the paper work that was needed for the city and it was all explained to me in an excellent manner. The only reason I gave a B on the price is because we always think things are too expensive, right? As far as I know, the price was probably excellent. No run around, no second guessing on price, no waiting for a late appointment. I would highly suggest you go with Mighty Bee when needing electrical work done.

asked them to look at automatic lights on garage and side door, which had not gone on consistently since they had done some re-wiring work and replaced our electrical panel, as well as replace some light fixtures. Flipped a switch in the garage for the former; were not able to do the latter. Still charged us $75, which seems a bit excessive. Still, appreciate the service and professionalism. Would use them again for future electrical issues.

This is a case of there must have been a mistake made, in which we apologize for the inconvenience and for our slip. We are training a new receptionist that either forgot to ask, or was not told that this customer was from Angie's List. Our ad in Angie's List clearly indicates those who will still have to pay a Trip fee, and it would be unreasonable for someone to think that all of our customers come from Angie's List, so they do not have to help us understand that when calling. Angie's List members, except for certain mileage requirements are NOT charged a Trip fee even though we DO still have costs involved with meeting them or giving them estimates. All other customers of ours do pay a Trip fee. I sometimes wonder why it is right for a Dr. to charge a co-pay or office visit, when it is us who go TO them, but not right for us other service companies to do the same when we come TO the customer? But, I have made that deal for most Angie's List customers to not have that fee charged. Our apologies to this customer.

Martin came out on May 14, 2012 and gave us an estimate on the work we wanted to have done. He was very professional and was very thorough regarding the work that needed to be done. The work was started on a Saturday, May 19, and was finished up on the following Monday. We were also very impressed that Martin & Don started the work on Saturday, considering it was raining and it continued for most of the day. A lot of the work that had to be done was outside. We are very happy with the work that was done and we will definitely use them for more upcoming projects. We would highly recommend Mighty Bee to anyone.

Martin was forwarded to me by Casablanca Fan Company. We had bought a new Casablanca fan online, and it stopped working within a few weeks. I called Casablanca, and Casablanca gave me Martin's Number. Because I am a Disabled Vet (10%), he did not charge me a trip charge, although he was suppose to and Casablanca warned me he would. He arrived on time. Did what he was suppose to do(Replace some interface part in the Fan that was 14' in the air). Cleaned up before he left and was in and out in under an hour. He also offered me some solutions so it would not happen again, like putting in a whole house surge protector; but without any high pressure you would expect when service people want you to buy more. I did not have the money at the time and I declined. Realizing he could have told me anything, and charged me for things I didnt need, I can't tell you how happy I was with Martin and Mightybee. I will definitely use him again. In fact, I now have the money for that surge protector($199) installed and will be calling him this week. Don't shop around, honesty and experience is all you need, and this guy is honest and knows what he's doing.

Work was done beautifully. All contact with Martin and with Don was prompt and professional. Martin was the first electrician to call me back and get right over to look at the property. It didn't take long for me to feel I could trust that he would do good work and be fair with pricing and honest about what was required. He suggested I take advantage of his Big Deal on Angie's List for upgrading my service to 200 amp. Had good ideas about moving the service panel to edge of house. I wanted to raise the overhead wires because they hung down too low. Cleaned up some of the mess near the back door area and the look overall is much better. However, I do wish I had stuck to my original thought to penetrate the mast through the roof. Although the drip loops are more off to the side of patio they are still very visible and low, although everything is perfectly to code - which is the main thing. I would highly recommend Mighty Bee electric for any electrical needs and I will be referring friends and family.
Description of Work: Upgraded electrical service to 200 amps as well as moved the existing panel to alleviate an unsightly situation with wires near the back door of house over the patio. Improved grounding of service to the water main. Other small jobs included replacing/upgrading two dimmer switches for CFLs and LEDs , re-routing electrical for back door light and installing the fixture.

First, someone answered my call (unusual even for 'A' rated providers). I was anxious as approximately one half of the electricity to our house was 'out' and Xcel had been by and verified that power was coming in just fine. I was told on the phone that someone could come by between 2p and 4p that day. Don showed up at 2p, told me the cost structure, and within 45 minutes had fixed the problem and was on his way. There was no 'upmarketing' of any kind and the expertise seemed impeccable. I'm almost looking forward to my next electrical need so that I can call these guys again.
