Called and spoke to Alex and explained work we needed done. We had a crack in the mortar about 25' in length on the brick veneer exterior of our home. Alex and Rick showed up about 3 hours later and the job was completed within 2 hours. From first call to job completion all in one day. Both Alex and Rick were very professional and courteous. Highly recommend them.

Rick and Alex are amazing. They have done several projects for me and I'm always happy and impressed. I've lived in my 1907 yr old house for 20 years and have several people work on it. It's hard to find experts that can really "butter" tuckpoint and these guys do it very well. They are my "go-to guys" now. I highly recommend.

Estimate: During our first meeting we introduced Alex to our home, which is over 100 years young, and our concerns regarding our chimneys. Alex, was very patient with our many questions and concerns. He also, performed a thorough inspection of both chimneys on the exterior of the house and in the interior. After his walk through, he pointed out the issues and provided us with multiple options to remedy them. At no point did we feel pressured and in the end we felt confident in the work that we agreed to. Work: The entire process took 1.5 days (as predicted by Alex) and was on budget. Both days Alex contacted us when he was on his way, and both days his crew was on-time. Throughout the process Alex kept us updated on what was being done and what will be done next. He also made sure to explain any questions or concerns, and that we knew how to use our new damper. Post Work: Alex contacted us to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and if we had any further questions or concerns. Overall: We are quite pleased with the result of the work and the relationship we had with Alex. Who is quite knowledgeable and professional in all respects.

This project was a disaster! They started out well enough, but that's only because I don't know what real professional masons are capable of (I do now - more on that in a minute). The team was very disorganized, slow, and sloppy. They made numerous mistakes, and continually asked for money even though they hadn't actually completed the defined phases (I made the mistake of trying to be reasonable on payment). Major issues include: 1. Mortar color and consistency varied from one day to the next. 2. They jumped around without ever finishing a section (probably so they could keep asking for payment). 3. Kept on trying to get me to pay extra for a particular area, and when I pushed back they kept on coming up with excuses to not work on that area. 4. They didn't have the right tools - using a hand grinder to cut brick, which made a horrible dusty mess - and pieces of my lumber (without asking) for levels and such. They also don't know how to use a string level - in one instance they were off by a few inches over the course of 20 feet, and I continually had to double-check their work and have them fix stuff - unfortunately I still let a bunch of things slide because I just wanted them to finish. 5. Really uneven brick spacing and sloppy mortar joints with lots of mortar on the face of the bricks 6. They really messed up my chimney. While working on extending the chimney, they dropped a TON of mortar down the chimney (and some other junk) - so much so that I now have to have someone come out and chip out the mortar that is now stuck on the fireplace damper. 7. They took money up front for a deposit on the bricks and then didn't actually put a deposit on the bricks. The project is all used/recovered brick. Because they didn't put down a deposit, the brickyard sold the brick to someone else. They tried to cover this up by telling me the brickyard sold the bricks out from under them, and then tried to convince me to use new brick. When I called the brickyard, they told me what really happened, and luckily they had a new shipment of used brick that I was able to buy. But this mistake along almost ruined the entire project. Oh, and did I mention that they continually kept asking for money? Well, after they disappeared for a week to work on another job (unannounced), and then didn't show up again the following week, I terminated the contract. Since then, I have had over six masons come through and they all are amazed at the poor quality of the work, and overall sloppy jobsite. I'm embarrassed that I let this go on for so long. I selected a new mason that is doing a phenomenal job so far. This mason has one laborer - so it's a two-person crew. In a single day he layed more than twice as much brick than a crew of three from Masonry Restoration Experts. And his brick work is much more precise and the jobsite is much cleaner.

Alex and Rick at Masonry Restoration Experts are Great! We have a 100 year old home that needed tuck pointing and we also needed to have a brick wall rebuilt. When we called for an estimate they stopped by the same day we called. They came out to our place to perform the work on the days they promised. They were able to find brick that matched the original brick on the house for the new wall, which I did not expect since it is no longer being made. They also were very conscientious to address any questions we had and also cleaned up afterward. They do great work and I highly recommend them.
