Horrible, they falsified a company, never stuck to the timeline, horrible with money management, lied about being in kidney failure, made up a false "silent business partner" and crappy work on top of it

The work was started within the time frame, but not completed on time, instead of 4 days, it was 2 weeks and more rock and edging was needed, so the cost was increased. After completion I noticed they had not followed my property line and actually installed the steel edging 18 inches past my property line onto my neighbor's lawn. When I called and texted to request the repair I got no response. Finally she responded and said she was out of the country. 2 more weeks has passed and with excuses like "it has been raining" and she fired several employees, the work is still not completed. Gave up and hiring another landscaper to clean up her mess. RUN! Do not hire this contractor.
Description of Work: Andi Champion responded to a request to xeriscape an area of my front lawn with promises of starting within a few days and a competitive price.

Our first experience with Ms. Champion was in November 2015, when she was doing business as Life Management LLC. We had a leak in our master bedroom shower which was located under the shower pan. Because of the location of the leak under the shower pan, in order to permanently fix it, the shower pan and two feet of tile would have to be removed and the cost would be in the thousands. Life Management LLC was able to install an access panel under the shower pan and temporarily fix the leak, allowing us time to decide how we would like to proceed with a permanent fix. We were thrilled with their honesty and thought they had done a fantastic job for us. We then decided to add a walk-in closet to our master bedroom in February 2106. We again hired Life Management LLC, based on our positive experience with the leak repair. Life Management LLC did everything they said they would in installing the closet. They were very knowledgeable and even suggested adding additional reinforcement for a heavy barn door we were installing at the entry to the closet, which was very much appreciated. The project did run over schedule, but we expected that. In April 2016, we brought in Life Management LLC to paint two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a hallway for us. There were some issues with paint coverage, but Andi addressed them immediately to our satisfaction. We decided in June 2016 to remodel our basement bathroom and do some light remodeling in our basement. We didn’t hesitate to call Andi, who was then doing business as Craft Masters Renovations. At the same time, we signed an estimate/agreement for Craft Masters Renovations to install laminate flooring on our main floor and second floor hallway in July 2016. Both estimates/agreements were signed the same day and a Cashier’s Check for $5,970 was issued to Brett Champion for the materials and deposit on both projects, $3,779.04 for the basement and bathroom remodel and $2,190.96 for the laminate flooring and padding. Work began on the basement in July 2016 and Andi told us, via email, that the flooring had been ordered and was going to be drop-shipped to our home. We were pleased with the work in the basement at first. The drywall repairs, painting and can light installation went smoothly and look good. The bathroom tiling did not go as well. Once the tile was installed, we talked to Andi about concerns we had with the look of the tile. Tiles were lifting in areas, creating a very uneven surface and the small “penny” tile accent band was not straight. Andi agreed to have her tiler take out and reinstall the tiles that were of concern. We were still not satisfied with the work and that’s when things started becoming tense between us and Craft Masters Renovation. The plumber originally hired by Craft Masters Renovation was attempting to install the shower handles when one fell/broke off, creating a geyser in our bathroom. We had a good deal of water in our bathroom that now wasn’t draining and it then began extruding into the basement living area and onto our brand new carpet. It was then it was determined that the shower drain wasn’t working. Her plumber discovered that the drain was clogged with grout from the tile project. Andi sent another plumber out to attempt to clear the drain and he indicated that he was successful. We were willing to let the sloppy tile work go, despite our not being happy with it, just to have a working shower. We paid the balance on the job and were willing to walk away, knowing that we would not do business with Craft Masters Renovations in the future. The plumber had not been successful. We then had numerous emails and conversations with Andi, begging her to fix the drain. Conversations did get contentious and we threatened legal action and media attention…anything to get this project completed. We had spent close to $7,000 for a bathroom that was unusable and we now had 5 teenagers sharing our one remaining shower. Andi eventually agreed to file an insurance claim, but it was mid-September before we heard from the insurance. It is now mid-October and I am pleased to say that the insurance company has paid for a plumber to remove the grout filled P-trap and they are paying for a contractor to come out and retile the shower floor. In all this time going back and forth with the basement/bathroom remodel, the laminate flooring for the main level never arrived. We contacted Andi at Craft Masters Renovations and she is not contacting us back. We have asked for her to either refund the $2,190.96 for the flooring materials or provide the flooring materials to us. She is not responding to us. It appears that Andi is operating as Finishing Touches, Life Management LLC and Craft Masters Renovations. I would assume that she will likely start another business again....please use caution when hiring her.
Description of Work: We hired Craft Masters Renovation for two projects. One was a basement/bathroom remodel, which included demolition of a dry bar, painting, demolition of a vanity/shower/flooring in a bathroom and installing a new vanity, flooring and shower. The second job was to install laminate flooring on our main level and upstairs hallway.

Let me start by saying that this company is one of two that are operated by A. Champion, who may or may not be deceased. I hired Life Management, LLC to paint my house. After a few months of waiting for some kind of response as to whether or not they were going to finish painting my house after being paid, I was told by this company's attorney that Andi Champion had passed away. Remarkably, A. Champion is now running 2 separate businesses. Craft Masters Renovations and Life Management, LLC. The reason they were paid ahead of time is because Andi Champion told our house sitter that they had completed the job and collected the check while we were out of town. This wouldn't have happened had Life Management started the job 1 week earlier as they had promised. Upon our return, we noticed that half of the house had had paint applied to it, not in any professional manner, but the other half had not been touched. I called Andi Champion immediately and she promised that her crew would return to do touch ups and any other areas that we felt didn't live up to our standards. When I told her that half of the house had not been touched, she said that there had to be some spackle work done and she had called 'her guy' to take care of it. He would be there in a couple of days, then the crew would return to do the rest of the paint job. None of this ever happened. Months passed and after many unanswered phone calls and emails, I finally received an email from 'Joe Carponi', the attorney for the estate of Andi Champion. Mr. Carponi explained that Andi had been diagnosed with cancer and had passed away. I said that I was sorry to hear that and I was no longer upset about the lack of communication. I expressed my desire to get a refund and go our separate ways, not wanting to add more stress to the situation. I wouldn't even leave a negative review. Now, months later after having 'Mr. Carponi' promise a full refund (an email I have saved as with all other correspondence, for legal purposes), I have not seen a check or even a reply to several attempts to communicate. In fact, I called his phone number this morning and the person that answered said that he 'remembered that guy, but he doesn't work for us anymore.' After asking too many questions, hung up on me. I have done extensive research in to who this Mr. Carponi is and I can find nothing on him. I doubt he exists, and if he does, would be very surprised if he was an attorney due to the many spelling mistakes in the emails he did send me. The person who hung up on me did tell me before he hung up, that Andi is running the company. When I asked if she had passed away, the person who hung up on me backtracked and said that they had to change the name of the company and it is actually Andi's wife that runs it. To sum up my experience with this company, I was ripped off. I was told: the job that we have a contract for would be started on a certain date (IT WAS NOT), that it would be done in a professional manner (NOT AT ALL), that they would return to finish the job (WE HAVE IT IN WRITING AND THEY DID NOT), that I would receive a refund due to them not completing the contract (HAS NOT HAPPENED), that the owner had died causing the issues (QUESTIONABLE AFTER HER EMPLOYEE SEEMINGLY BACKTRACKED WHEN ASKED ABOUT HER WELL BEING , AS HER BUSINESS HAS GROWN SINCE HER SUPPOSED PASSING), and told what I wanted to hear from their 'attorney' (EXISTENCE OF THIS GUY IS DEBATABLE). This post is the last opportunity for this company to make things right by me before I take them to court. I have documentation of the quality of work that was performed, I have all correspondence from all agents of the company stating what work will be done and that I will receive a full refund. These people take measures to ensure that holding them accountable is difficult, including possibly faking one's death. I do not give up that easily. I expect this to be resolved in the next week or I will be having the sheriff's department serve legal notices to Mr. Brett Champion and all involved with Life Management, LLC and Craft Masters Renovations. PS - I have attached 2 photos that demonstrate their work. This is a window well on the front of the house. After lifting the security gate, I saw that the painter had only painted as far as he/she could reach and put the gate back down. I have attached a picture representative of the poor work your company did. How can you in anyway defend your company's work and then criticize me as being unethical and dishonest?! You state that there were some "touch ups that need to be done". I would say that NOTHING on the back of the house was even painted. Also, what was painted on the front and sides was not completed at all. Andi was going to paint the gables with 2 coats of paint. Only one coat was applied, which is now peeling off. Also, on those gables, there are marks where the ladder was moved and smeared wet paint. Another of the many issues is that your employees put the wrong caulk on the house and it had to be peeled off (which was only done partially) and start over. It seems to me that you think close to 90% of the job was completed. Not even 20% of the job was completed! And that 20% was terrible! As far as you changing the name of your business due to "a partnership being absolved due to differences in business ethics"...would that be your wife who sent me emails under the pretenses of being an attorney claiming that Andi had DIED?! Is that the person who you had differences with based on business ethics? Or could it be that you had an employee with actual business ethics and that would only complicate the way you do business? You and Andi (RIP) are both criminally dishonest and simply rip people off. I never wanted something for nothing. In actuality, I PAID for this job to be done and it was not. That means YOU got something for nothing. And as far as the "Entire Refund" you promised to issue because "this is not how we do business", you did no such thing. You did send a check for about half of the money I paid you, but I still got ripped off.
