King Awnings

One of their workers literally committed an aggravated assault on me in Gilbert Arizona Ron hasn't answered the phone or even called me back. The police came out after I called 911 I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I have thousands of dollars in medical bills and will be out of work for a while. The awning installation they did at the hash kitchen here in Gilbert is done incorrectly . They have never installed this particular system before they admitted and when the wind blows there's a very good chance this thing is going to blow over as they didn't even use the correct hardware and they are literally out there trying to weld posts into different shapes to get them to fit burning holes in the sidewalk nothing is square the posts are not vertical the trim is not plum this thing is an absolute nightmare there's a good chance it's going to fall over and kill somebody. Please make sure you look at that recent reviews all over the place these guys rip people off . Do not trust these people around your family please I implore you not to do so. You can call the Gilbert Arizona Police Department and ask them for the report on the incident at hash kitchen on July 24th 2023 and see for yourself . This hot head employee of theirs has no teeth he appears like he probably had or currently has a drug addiction. Punched me with a closed fist multiple times and kicked me in the head . Completely without provocation . Mind you this is on video. Mind you he will be getting charged . I also overheard this employee talking about how he gets women drunk to the point they can't say no and takes advantage. There's also the guy named Jason who is supposedly the crew leader who allowed this all to happen and then when the police came denied anything to place at all. If you are lucky they will steal your money only if you're like me it will assault you cost new thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars and your awning might fall over and kill yourself or one of your guests because they don't know how to install it under the proper specs like they claim to

I am revising my original reviews. Although it started a little shaky, I'd have to change my review to 5 stars. Ron, the owner of King Awnings, came to our home more than one year after installing our patio awning to adjust the wind sensor. It was not expected and we were very pleased. We would highly recommend King Awnings as their product is excellent, as is the service.

Owner (Ron) was excellent when he came to give us the estimate. We paid deposit and never had it confirmed. I called to confirm a few weeks later. For installation, I called repeatedly but never received a call back until I emailed Ron. Ron's response was very nasty. On installation there were multiple problems. 1. Loud sound on opening; installer said it was "normal;" I asked about it a few times and he then sprayed the mechanism with silicone, which completed eliminated the sound. 2. It was very windy but wind sensor was not working; installer said he did not know why, then spent 45 additional minutes trying to repair it; told us it was fixed, but wind had stopped and we had no way of knowing if it actually was fixed. 3. Ron told us the awning would be hard-wired; it was not; it was plugged in. We were told that he never promised hard-wiring. 4. The coloring of the fabric is brighter on one side than the other; the brighter should be on the outside; we were told the fabric color was the same on both sides. 5. No written warranty was provided. We tried to call Ron but could not reach him so we told the installer that we would withhold payment until we spoke with him. Installer was able to contact Ron who then called us and yelled and threatened us, insisting immediate payment. Ron followed up with several threatening texts and another threatening email the following morning, at which point he did send the written warranty. We paid the balance in full just to end this terrible experience.

Very poorly. This is a copy of an text message string between myself and Ron the owner operator of King Awning. This is the text message thread between Ron the owner of King Awnings and I since April 7th. After initial installation he advised an original part called a center support was broken, and advised I needed to get replacements. Are they sending the new ones ? 4/12/21 Two center supports just arrived today. When can you come and install them? I will let you know by end of day tomorrow, I had you for 14 days, but let me see when I can push it up to Hi Ron, This is Larry Watson. Are we still on you schedule to get those center supports installed? Please advise. Hey Ron, you said you had us scheduled for 14 days. This is 14 days and no contact. What's up? Straight up, should I depend on you, or find someone else? Larry you can count on us, we had the weather slow us down, I will let you know tomorrow what day. 5/11/21 Ron still waiting. I don't want to contact angi and the BBB. This is something that we should be able to handle. I need to know when you will be here. Larry I understand what your saying and I am not ignoring you. We do not work during the rain or snow because safety issues, I'm sure your aware that we have had about 1 good week to work altogether in the past 2 months due to weather. The broken center support was not our fault, I offered to come back at no charge, I am only asking for a little patience please Do you have any idea when you will be here? I am guessing it will be after this weekends rain probably mid week I just need you to communicate and give me a reasonable estimate. Next week Wednesday or Thursday works for me. 5/21/21 The soonest I can do it would be Tuesday at noon We will be here. See you Tuesday 5/25/21 at noon. It's Tuesday. I'm here, are you coming? My installers are yes 5/25/21 at 6:00pm. Ron and his installers are a no show. At this point I wouldn't trust him to install an umbrella. 5/25/21 at 10:30pm. Larry my guys just got in from the job before you. They will be at your house at 7. 5/26/21 at 8:10am. Still no show. It's 8:00am do you know where your installers are. They're not here. Arrived as scheduled. Installers were professional. Explained what they wereabout to do and went about the installation. Tested and Explained the operation, tested the wind sensor and cleaned up before leaving. Job was well done!
