Lee replaced my old AC unit with a new one. I wasn't able to be home during the replacement due to Jury Duty, but was anxious to get my broken AC taken care of in the middle of record-breaking heat. Lee was willing and able to take care of the replacement without me being there, then he simply billed me. I am happy with his reliability and efficiency. So far so good...! The new AC is working well and keeping me comfy once again. Would definitely recommend Lee to others!

Thanks to Lee, the owner I will refer to others. Thanks Pat and Hugh.
Description of Work: ONEGUY ,THE NAME OF COMPANY IS BY FAR THE MOST PROFESSIONAL, CONSCIENTIOUS AND COST EFFICIENT CONTRACTORS WE HAVE EVER HAD. LEE IS THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING, ALSO POINTING OUT THAT THE COMPANY WE HAD USED FOR YEARS NEVER CHECKED THE FILTER IN THE HUMIDIFIER AND WAS SURPRISED IT WAS STILL WORKING. ONEGUY WAS SHOCKED AT HOW MUCH WE HAD ALSO PAID FOR THE LAST HONEYWELL THERMOSTAT. WE PAID ALMOST $400.00(for thermostat and 20 minutes of work). LEE SAID WE COULD HAVE PURCHASED THIS ONE ITEM FOR $24.00. AGAIN, THE COMPANY WE HAD USED FOR YEARS WASN'T THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS. MY HUSBAND AND I SAVED APPROXIATELY $2,500.00 BY HIRING ONEGUY TO DO THIS WORK. I HAVE A SUGGESTION TO ALL CONSUMERS WHO WILL BE PURCHASING ANY HEATING/AC OR WATER HEATER TO ASK ANYONE THAT WILL BE DOING THE WORK IF THEY ARE GOING TO GET A "PERMIT" FOR THE WORK. IF THEY HESITATE IN GIVING YOU AN ANSWER DON'[T EVER HIRE THEM. CALL ONEGUY, LEE IS THE ONLY CONTRACTOR I WILL BE HIRING IN THE FUTURE.THANKS ONEGUY !!!!!!!

Lee was right on time for the estimate and spent a great deal of time at my house. He told me the date & time the job would be performed. He and his employee were here on time each day. It took exactly as long as he estimated. He gave me a good, fair price. I did enough investigating and estimates, to feel very comfortable with my choice. The room that houses my furnace is very small and all the duct work had to be removed, as well as the old furnace. The electrician that Lee uses did a great job as well. This price included the electrician, but Lee did not add any cost to the electrician's estimate. Permits were pulled for the electric work and the equipment, both inspections passed on the first visit. I already plan on using Lee's company again for another project and have recommended him to others. His employee who was working here did a fantastic, quality job as well.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for a new furnace replacement, installation of a new air conditioner, a new furnace humidifier and installation of a new air cleaner. I collected around 8 estimates and chose this company. The owner Lee spent a great deal of time during the estimate explaining all of my options, explaining all the complexities involved with my property and answering my questions. He came up with suggestions that no one else came up with, and it was obvious to me that he was very experienced and knowledgeable. He worked with me to help me understand less costly options and was honest and forthright. I decided to replace my furnace to be an American Standard 2 stage variable speed furnace, I had an American Standard air conditioner installed and a whole house Air Cleaner installed as well.

Tech responded promptly to a service call in a rental property I own that had reported that a/c wasn't able to cool below 78 degrees during 100+ degree Denver heat wave. Tech reported that compressor was failing and unable to provide adequate cooling. I followed up with Lee (owner), and he offered me several options to address issue. He was extremely patient, explaining a range of ideas, from doing nothing to replacing the entire system. Lee listened very carefully to my situation, and helped me arrive at a solution that made sense. We actually arrived at one of the lower cost options- I never felt that Lee was trying to "up-sell" me, and to the contrary he convinced me to take a less expensive option. In spite of record Denver heat wave he got me on the schedule and completed job promptly and professionally. We did the entire transaction over the telephone and email- Lee performed the work on just my verbal approval, taking risk that I would actually pay him. I was struck by his professionalism, patience, and honesty, and would recommend him to anyone with heating/cooling issues. I've dealt with many contractors in my life time, and Lee is among the best.

After talking with Lee at OneGuy, he seemed like the right man for the job. He worked with me to design and fabricate, from scratch, the new plenum and duct connections, even incorporated enough clearance to install an A/C coil pack, which I had him complete as part of the project. I didn't have the rest of the A/C system installed at the time, just the coils on top of the furnace. At least there'd be no duplicated effort later to install that component. The demolition and installation ended up falling right over a few days that were unseasonably frigid. It took three days of work, but at no time was I without a functional furnace for more than 12 hours. Jim worked during the day while I was out of the house. Each day ended with enough work completed to move air through the house, which was quite a feat of planning in and of itself. In the end, I was really happy with how things turned out. I had a little cleanup to do, and a couple large bits from the old system were left behind in my trash that probably could have been taken away by them. That's my only reason for the B on professionalism. Lee and Jim did, with aplomb, what a couple other HVAC contractors told me would be very difficult or require much more extensive and expensive fabrication. I will go to OneGuy first for any future HVAC needs I may have.
Description of Work: My older North Denver home had received an updated, high-efficiency furnace a few years before I bought the house. While this was a great thing to have in a less than efficient 1928 home, the way in which it was installed was less than stellar. The original installer (rhymes with handle bright) put very little effort into properly reworking the old plenum system to accommodate the new, much smaller footprint furnace. It appeared they essentially took the old behemoth out and slapped sheet metal on the plenum until they'd closed the original opening down to a small enough hole to attach the new furnace and called it a day. This left what was probably at least a 15-20 cu ft. section of useless metal box sitting on top of my furnace robbing efficiency and proper flow. Not to mention that it made getting around the furnace to any of the storage space it neighbored an often head-banging experience. I was also told by other HVAC installers that putting in an A/C coil pack on my furnace would be next to impossible if I ever wanted it because of the lack of clearance between the furnace and the ducting. As part of the project I also needed a new duct run to a downstairs bathroom that had never received a proper ventilation feed when the previous owners remodeled. With a little paint I hoped I could get something that would blend right in with the existing exposed (and I think, charming) old duct-work.

It went great. I'm so happy. Lee came through again. I talked to him this morning, he picked up the part, and Jim installed it a few hours later. Wow--I didn't expect it to get done so quickly because I know he is very busy,. He really took care of us. My husband diagnosed the problem for them, so that saved some time. I think Lee is a very efficient and well-organized person. He's a clear and concise communicator and he takes pride in his work.

We currently use our A/C only at night, except when entertaining, due to its inefficiency and high cost. We have been thinking about replacing it with a more efficient system and wanted to get some professional opinions on our options. We called One Guy based on Angie's List reviews. He came when he said he would, but other than that we were not impressed, mainly because he didn't seem to hear anything we said, and instead seemed focused on selling us a specific brand of air conditioner that was even bigger than the one we already have, which is not at all what we were after.

"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" These folks wanted me to move the A/C condensor out of the sun. I will not take their money for a service that will not fix the problem. They had a differnt company install an undersized a/c condensor for the size of the house with a 20 inch wide 3 ton A coil on a 25 inch furnace with a 5 ton blower motor. Will never work!!!! The coil is restricting 800cfm of air flow. The only way to fix it would be to replace it, they got ripped off and not by me. I gave them the truth, a free estimate, and they give me a bad review. I did no work what so ever for these people, please disregard this review!!!

Lee and a co-worker came out to see what was wrong with an air conditioning unit in a rental condo that I own. They quickly found the problem and gave me and estimate of repairs. I gave them the go ahead to make the repairs and perform the "maintenance" issues. Lee left his co-worker to complete the job, which was done very quickly. I was very please with the overall experience.

We were in the market for a humidifier; we set up an appointment with Oneguy Heating after having several other companies over for estimates - the journey felt very fruitless and frustrating, as three different companies gave a range of estimates from $500 to $3500. Oneguy Heating supplied us with materials and took the time to explain why the equipment was the right choice. They won the business and promptly arrived at our scheduled install time. During installation, one of the thermostats blew a fuse and I thought I was going to be staring down an uncomfortable up-sell - I was wrong - they apologized for the incident and promptly replaced the thermostat without a hassle. The gentleman who installed the system was also very courteous and respectful. We plan to call them again should anything else concerning our HVAC system arise.

OneGuy Heating answered a late Friday phone call and had a technician at the property the next morning. They diagnosed the problem but did not have the part to fix it on their truck. However, they made a quick run to the parts warehouse on Saturday before it closed and were back at the property to complete everything Saturday afternoon. I was pleased overall. Thanks!

Lee was very responsive and helped us to work within our budget. He was able to come out within a day or two to provide a quote. He was at the low end of the several different quotes that we got. In the course of installing the furnaces, One Guy also repaired and cleaned up some of the ducting... All of the work looked very clean and very professional, and they left the site looking better than they had found it. We have several rental properties in Denver, and it is always nice to find service professionals that offer a good deal on high quality work. I will definitely use Lee and One Guy for future heating projects.

From the beginning, Lee was very prompt, courteous and professional. I obtained estimates for a new furnace from six different companies, but Lee's willingness to listen to my concerns, and ability to respond to them won the bid. He and his crew were prompt, and the job was finished faster than I had anticipated. His crew were friendly, polite, and went to great lengths to make sure that there was little to no disruption in my home and routine during the tear-out of the old furnace and ductwork, and installation of the new. In addition, they all made sure that I had almost no dirt and mess, despite working in a large, messy crawl space. Not only do I recommend Oneguy, but when the time comes to replace my air conditioner, Oneguy is the company that I will call first. Great job!

Lee was extremely responsive to my call for service and explained the possibility that with a unit which is 27 years old it might need to be replaced. He also discussed the repairs it may or may not need as well as the costs associated with the possible repairs and current industry regulations. They called me at work when the service tech had completed his last job so I didn't have to wait around for them, very impressive. The service tech Jim was right on time, got right to work and determined that my unit was still working nicely and just needed a few quick repairs and coolant. He was also able to fix my neighbors air conditioning unit at the same time so the price was for two repairs and coolant for both. I was very pleased with the honesty, service and responsiveness of One Guy Heating, Cooling and Sheet Metal Inc. They could have easily sold me a new unit but did not. I will use and recommend this company exclusively in the future for all my heating and cooling needs.

Lee from One Guy Heating and Air was very professional, courteous, and punctual from the first time that I contacted him. I would definitely use Lee in the future for any small or major job as his price was right, his employees were nice, and most importantly the job was done correctly! Greg
Description of Work: We had a flood in our basement which caused us to gut everything and start from bare bones. Lee and his men moved our furnace and A/C as they were not to city code when installed in late 2009 by another company from Golden, and replaced all of the previous Asbestos duct work with new supplies and returns making sure to constantly communicate with us on how the remodel would affect the layout. A few changes here and there had to be made as the basement progressed and Lee was right there to help and talk through the problems and provide solutions.

After receiving no less than six estimates from other companies, I found One Guy Heating on Angies List and called for an estimate. The owner, Lee came out and did an outstanding job of clearly describing the equipment that would be installed as well as the differences and bang for the buck in the various models availble from his primary supplier. Lee's explanation was the first one that was concise, informative and made sense when compared to the explanations/estimats that I had receved fromn the other companies for furnace replacement. Lee quickly delivered an estimate the next day which was exactly in line with what we had discussed. At that point, it was an easy decision choosing One Guy Heating for the job. On install day Lee showed up along with his crew and filled them in on the details of the job as well as some of the concerns that I had regarding locating the exterior ventilation. His crew then performed the installation without any hitch or flaw. Lee performed a follow-up visit to complete the job by providing his own Q/A inspection. I am completely satisfied with my decision to go with One Guy Heating and very happy with the work performed. I will be recommending One Guy to anyone I come in contact with that is in need of HVAC work. Thanks again One Guy...

One Guy was very responsive. I originally called another a/c company and scheduled an appointment and they never showed up or called to reschedule. Lee and his technician came to my house as scheduled, isolated the problem and repaired it. Lee also made a follow-up call to ensure we were satisfied. In addition, Lee ordered extra vent filters and delivered them personally. Overall, Lee was fair and reasonable. Thanks for a job well done.

I originally contacted OneGuy on 7/18 regarding my A/C unit, which was running but not cooling. One of Lee's technicians was there later that morning to check it out and determined that my compressor had gone bad. He said he would inform Lee of the problem and that I'd hear back soon with my options. Lee called later that afternoon and explained what my options were and how much they would run me. The big problem was that my compressor used a type of coolant (R-22 Freon) that is no longer available in new compressors and is due to be phased out completely by 2020. I had the option of replacing my compressor with a new one that had the coolant it was manufactured with flushed out and replaced, or to just replace my entire A/C unit. I did some research and called around for a few other quotes. I decided to go with the option to replace my entire A/C unit. Lee's estimates came in well below any of the other companies I contacted, so I stuck with him. We scheduled the work to be done on 7/27 (Wed) or 7/28 (Thurs). On Monday he called and said he'd actually be able to do it Tuesday if that worked for me, which it did. The installation process went very smoothly. Lee and one of his employees showed up in the morning and got right to work. As other commenters have said, Lee explained everything that was going to happen very clearly and answered all my questions in the same manner. He stayed long enough to make sure everything was going well and then left his employee to finish the job. It's been a week now and I've very happy with the new unit. Lee contacted me the evening after the installation and again a few days later just to make sure everything was working properly and to find out if I had any questions or concerns. All my interactions with Lee were very professional and courteous. On the rare occasion that I was unable to reach him immediately, he was always quick to get back to me. My only complaint is that the turn-around time on the quotes felt a little long. Not unacceptably so, and I'm pretty sure it just felt longer to me because I had the misfortune of having my A/C break right as the hottest week of the summer so far was starting. One full workday after the service call for an initial quote, and two more for the finalized quote. At no point was it a deal-breaker or did I feel I was being put off or ignored. And I did use that time to do research and get other quotes so I could make an informed decision. Given the circumstances I just wanted it to go a little faster. Ultimately Lee was also able to do the installation a day or two ahead of what was expected, so I figure it balances out. I would wholly recommend OneGuy and would readily contact them again in the future for any problems I have.
Description of Work: Initially, just checked on why my A/C unit wasn't working properly. Ultimately replaced the whole A/C unit with a new model.

I used this site to find Lee at One Guy. Everything you read on here is 100% true. He is a straight shooter, responsive, professional and genuinely wants to do the right thing. An example of doing the right thing was taking the time to look at my furnace and determine whether I "really" needed a new one. Three other contractors made no attempt to recommend anything other than replacement. Lee simply recommended a new variable speed, more efficient blower, which was 1/10 the cost of a new furnace. He also gave me an option of buying a slightly "dinged" A/C unit and save me $350. He is a small contractor and, quite frankly, is better than the big ones I called. I would hire, and will hire, him again when I need any of this type of work done again. Thanks to Jim and Lee for a job well done.

For warranty work completed 5/4/12: I discovered an issue where the unit would not power on. I did not know where the problem was originating from, but honestly thought it had nothing to do with the A/C unit. An HVAC electrician came out and verified this was not really an electrical issue, but due to all the coolant leaking out of the A/C. I notified Lee of the problem. He scheduled time and came out on Friday afternoon, 5/4/12. I want to express my grattude to Lee and Jim for fixing this problem. They think the problem was that a valve was not tightened down all the way last year. They are coming out in a couple weeks to double-check the pressure to make sure no leaking has occurred. Lee always comes through and makes things right. He does care about his customers and takes pride in his work. I feel I can trust him to do all my HVAC work in the future.
Description of Work: For original work completed 7/29/11: Had the 36" x 30" Carrier unit disconnected from freon & electrical and moved into my carport for a few weeks while I scheduled a contractor to come in and pour concrete for a patio. Came back on 7/29 and reconnected to the corner of my patio exactly as I requested, which was closer to where the electrical box is and the port where the freon tube enters my home. There was a purge and leak check done with liquid nitrogen, and recharge with freon back up to full. Serviced and cleaned inside of condenser (not exactly sure what was done on the condenser service as that was not spelled out in the invoice I received from him, but that was apparently not supposed to be included in the original price so I'll give him fair credit on that). Temperature of two vents inside was checked with a digital thermometer at 53/54 degrees after work was completed. To show how earnest the person was in doing me right, there was a significant leak of freon at the end when disconnecting his equipment, so the technician replaced the missing freon and I checked with my own digital thermometer afterwards and I got a slightly lower reading (52 degrees) than before the leak, which was good.

Response from Key Heating & Air dba Oneguy Heating & Cooling
This was a small task that we treated as a service call. The original scope of work was to disconnect the A/C condenser freon lines and electrical and move it for new concrete. After concrete work return and solder back in, purge and leak check, release freon, check pressures and reconnect the wiring. Never did he ask me to clean the evaporater coil in our emails nor did i tell him it was included in our price to move then reinstall it. I went ahead and did the outdoor condenser sevice which normally would run 139.00 dollars or 125.00 for Angies List members for free to make him HAPPY. Nobody in the HVAC business writes up a contract for a simple service call. But we do write up an invoice with what was needed to be done and what we did do. The 375.00 that he paid is what i originally told him, and it was a very good price for the A/C move alone.

Fortunately, the part was covered and One Guy 's warranty includes a year of free labor, so we paid nothing to have it repaired. Lee ordered the part immediately, but it didn't come in until late Friday. Lee sent his worker down to install it on Saturday morning, so we wouldn't have to spend the weekend without our cooler. Lee is very competent and efficient. It's great being able to deal directly with the owner of the company. He really cares about keeping his customers happy.
Description of Work: We love the new high efficiency evaporator cooler we bought from One Guy, but it stopped working after only a few months. When I called Lee and described the situation, he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. It needed a new panel.

I called Lee for an estimate and he happened to be in the neighborhood and he was at our house in five minutes. Lee was very polite and professional. He reviewed a number of options with me and provided a detailed bid with three different price points. Compared to a couple of other bids, Lee's prices were far superior. We reviewed our options and decided to go with Lee. We coordinated a time for the installation and Lee, Jim and a junior worker showed up right on time and got right down to business removing the old heater and commenced with the installation. Their installation went very smoothly. They stepped us through each element of the installation which we greatly appreciated. The installation was completed in a day. As we got going with the use of the new system, an adjustment was required to help with the overall airflow. I called Lee and spoke with him on Saturday evening to request assistance and Lee and Jim were at my house at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning. An hour later our air flow was perfect! Needless to say, we are incredibly impressed with the dedication of Lee and Jim to providing the best possible customer experience, especially on these hot summer days! Thank you guys! We really appreciate it! Those of you searching for someone to do your Heat/AC job, go with One Guy! They are aces!
