We got several bids and chose JPM, which was in the middle of the price group. Our choice was based on John's presentation and our perception of his focus on our needs. He also offered good insights into choosing materials, finishes, electrical and roofing. We were told the job would take 3-5 weeks. Our goal was to have a large patio connecting our existing back porch to a brand new 2-car detached garage on the back of our property. The automobile entrance for the new garage would be from the alley rather than the existing driveway from the street.| Demolition & removal of the old garage and driveway went quickly and smoothly. All debris was removed as promised. We had a new sewer run from the house to the main alley line (which we contracted separately), and the floor of the new garage was poured soon afterward. From this point, things bogged down. There were not only odd days of inactivity but a couple of extended periods where nothing was done, including answering our calls and emails. It turned out he had other projects going on at the same time, and had even gone away to Arizona during one of the absences. The shingles did not go on the roof until the end of August. The job, which began the first week of June was not completed until Labor Day. It consumed the entire summer. John promised to come back on 2 occasions and correct some cement errors and cracks, even though the contract disclaimed them. He did not return our second call, so we let it drop and haven't heard from him since. Overall, we think he either took on too big a project or too many projects at once. Whichever it was, his communication skills and responsiveness were lacking. The man will build you a pretty good garage, but a lot of patience and worry might be required.

Description of Work: Company took several weeks to answer email and show up to do an estimate on an historic garage renovation. Then said could not take on the projects like this and failed to recommend someone else. Unimpressed.
