Hired them to replace a lift pump in my house and less than a month after install it caught on fire and flooded our basement because a loose pipe was left in the pit and caused the motor to burn out. Second plumber came out and replaced pump but did not seal it. Now every time water runs through the pump the basement fills with sewage smell. Was told by third plumber nothing they could do. Management told me if the pump is working there is nothing they can do.

 + -1 moreI've used them several time for various straightforward plumbing tasks and have always gotten good service. They arrive on time and usually can come out the same day or the next day. They're careful not to make a mess, and clean up the work area carefully. They charge by the task rather than by the hour, which I think is a good system. They seem expensive compared to plumbers in the little town I moved here from, but they are probably fairly priced for Boulder.

 + 3 moreHad over $5k worth of work performed to include replacing a hot water heater, replacing leaking valves, and correcting the routing of a drainage pipe that ran from one side of my home to the other. Tony and his apprentice Lucas did everything in their proposal and more, to include helping me with rebuilding the cabinet under one of my sinks that were damaged by a leaking valve. I'm highly satisfied with my decision to have the work done by JD's and have complete confidence in all of the work performed.
Description of Work: Replace water heater, replace several valves, rebuild toilet, reconfigure piping under a kitchen sink, reroute a drainage line that spanned the distance of my house, and several other tasks.

 + -1 moreThis guy did not want to do any work and he didn't. I paid a total of $50.00. For no service and no solutions except that there was a Home Depot close by. I knew that because I have lived here 20+ years.
Description of Work: Fix a loud toilet when flushing and when not flushing. Th man flushed it 10/12 times and came to me and said it works. He then proceeded to instruct me on how to replace the flapper. Collected his $25.00 and left. He did say he didn't know anything about Angies List and didn't know anything about you. I told him that is where I got the company name.

 + -1 moreIt was awful. I was quoted outrageous prices for the repairs like $90 to replace a sprinkler head and $70 to add a clamp around a hose end-cap. To his credit, he did take 20 seconds and added the clamp for free but in the end our water pressure issue never got resolved. I had another repairman out and he had diagnosed the problem of a pinched hose caused by a tree root over the phone and only charged $20 to replace the sprinkler head.

He gave us an estimate on adding another faucet outside and checked the outside faucets for leaks. We would hire JD's Plumbing service again without hesitation.

 + -1 moreThe technician was very professional and was on time, however, he only found what we already knew was wrong with the sprinkler heads and the leak in the black tubing. When this service was completed the cost to have these items repaired was going to be way to high. We declined the repair and found another company that repaired the items and only charged 1/4th of what JD Plumbing was going to charge. I sort of felt like the offer of $90.00 to evaluate the system was to high since the price we paid to have the other company do all these repairs was only $125.00 total. This included parts and digging out the sprinkler heads and repairing them. I feel JD Plumbing is a professional company, just over priced.

 + -1 moreservice was good on the heads being replaced but after i paid the ridiculous amount i found the sprinkler box had been leaking forever and setup wrong YET the technician said ALL was great. They did come back out and discounted the effort and repaired and replaced the entire box. AGAIN, nothing negative on JD's Plumbing, it is buyer beware. IF YOU HIGHER A PLUMBING COMPANY TO DO SPRINKLERS, you will pay a RIDICULOUS amount and based on what happened they don't have any more knowledge and possible less than a landscape company.
Description of Work: Had them come out to check sprinklers and look to repair two i knew were broken. Come to find out a homeowner should NEVER, let me say it again NEVER hire a plumbing company for sprinkler work as you will pay significantly higher than a landscape company or contractor that does sprinklers. The owner or manager that i spoke to very clearly said this as well. I place more BLAME on ANGIE's List for failing to protect the purchaser the the company, after my frustration they were very forward and straight to the point.. Angie's list has a guide to costs and what to expect yet they allow a company to place an offer to get into the door only to be significantly higher than what Angie's List shows. I PAID $210 PER Sprinkler to be replaced. The sprinkler was $12. It took 15 minutes each. Again the company after I complained was very professional with their follow up.

 + -1 moreI was a little surprised at cost and how they set their fee; it was a flat rate for each service independent of the amount of time needed for the service (similar to a car repair shop). But, it has been numerous years since I've used a plumber, so difficult to say how price compares to other plumbers. Faucet was cleaned out and now works. Toilet "innards" were fully replaced but water still drains out of the bowl. Several straps added to secure sump pump pipes, but the pipes still bang. I suspect the banging is caused by something besides loose discharge pipes, but don't know for sure. I did not contact the company and ask them to come back.
Description of Work: I needed three items resolved: a clogged bathroom faucet, a new tank stopper for a toilet to keep bowl from losing water, and to secure banging sump pump pipes.

 + 0 moreThe tech had to call me once for clarification and when he was done to receive payment and find out where to leave the paperwork. I was very impressed with the efficiency and service I received from the technician, Paul. The office staff was also very friendly and double-checked with someone else to make sure my request could be managed, before promising to take the job.
Description of Work: I needed my swamp cooler put together, and started for the summer with verification that everything was working and the bill was paid in full. I was out of state when another contractor cancelled on me because I wasn't there, even though they had all the information they needed from me. I called JD's Plumbing Services and provided them with the same formation as the other company. JD's said they could complete the work without me there and had everything completed in less than a week.
