 + -1 moreHerman and Mike arrived exactly on time and went to work right away. The demolition of the old bathroom was more of a challange then they had anticipated but they got it done in one day and hauled away all of the debris. The reconstruction took about two weeks, including the one day demo. The reconstruction required substantial plumbing modifications as well as completely rebuilding the interior of the wall. Their work was very good and they did exactly what I had asked for. The communication was daily and Herman was very good at explaining what they were doin and why they were doing it. Along the way there were a few challanges that were discussed with me and a solution was discussed and implemented. There were a few issues with the drywall work that had been done, not by Herman, and when I pointed them out he was more dissatisfied than I was. Herman took it upon himself to remedy the situation without me ever having to mention it again. All in all I am very pleased with the outcome.
Description of Work: I had asked Herman Thornburg to remodel an outdated bathroom in my 50 year old house. The bathroom had been leaking water in to the floor for quite some time before I purchased the home and was in need of major repair. The bathroom was originally built as a 3/4 bath, sink, tub, toilet and small shower. Herman took the time to explain to me how it could be turned in to a full bath. The room is very small and the placing of each of the fixtures was going be very specific. Herman's quote was $3,800 and he asked that I provide all of the fixtures, tub, vanity, sink, lighting and he would do the work, the only exception was the toilet because Herman prefers a very specific toilet. Herman also explained that there are always little things that come up that may cause small additional cost. These things turned out to be issues like additional grout material, a can light for the shower and having some of the tile I wanted made in to bull nose tile because it wasn't available in bull nose.
