I was astonished that the crew of three completed the entire job in 90 minutes flat. They carefully hand-spread the sealant to ensure even coverage, and even spread sand over the crack sealant to help blend in with the color of my driveway. Cleanup was fast and thorough. Great crew, friendly, professional, and courteous, and I think this is a good alternative to replacing my entire driveway (which may have cost 10 times as much). It doesn't look brand new, of course, but it is level and the potential for water infiltration through cracks is minimized. Very happy with the results. It does take a while to schedule, as much as two or three months. Mine was further delayed by several snowstorms, but it was worth waiting for.
Description of Work: I had Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems repair my concrete driveway. They lifted and leveled about six sections of my 3-car driveway, some of which were sunken to a depth of over two inches in places. Once the leveling was finished, they also sealed about 200 feet of narrow criss-crossed cracks. The lifting appears to be very effective, with the injected high-density polymers taking effect very quickly.

Horrible! We had a signed work order to do the work. I gave them approval to start the project. Financing through my bank was complete. About a week later, they called and told me that my project was too small to do and that they would not be honoring their contract!

After the estimate, an engineer came out to verify dimensions and create drawings. When the workers arrived to install the new beam, the beam that was ordered was too short, the crew was confused about what work was to be performed, and they tried digging up my basement floor to install new piers, before I stopped them and informed them that is not the work that was supposed to be done. I was originally told it would be a one day project, which turned into multiple months before the project would be complete. The welds were very sub par, the work that was required by the permit was not completed, and the smart jack was installed crooked and with poor workmanship. The crew even had to borrow tools and equipment from me to try to complete the work. Photos were sent to the engineer, who had a junior engineer sign off and approve the installation, which was not acceptable. The city inspector failed the inspection and required them to come back out to re-do most of the work that was done. All the while, I keep getting calls asking for final payment, before the job is complete or even passed inspections. I will not be using Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems ever again, and would not recommend them to anyone.

I was in a pinch and needed to get a wall fixed so that I could get a house sold. Their customer service is top notch. I do customer service all day long. I deal with contractors all day long at my job. They were way more than helpful. They would call up and say, hey, I don't have an answer for you yet but I haven't forgot you. Who does that? It was fantastic. They've taken really good care of me.

The company was very punctual throughout the entire process. We ran into some additional difficulties due to our drains were leaking in several places. This set back the schedule for our work, but the company did everything to meet my time frame. I was very happy with their ability to stay on time despite the additional work we needed to get done. They communicated very proactively. Augustine and his crew were fantastic. They worked tirelessly on getting everything done as we had be promised. The crawl space went from a nasty muddy panic attack causing nightmare to a place that smells great and is free from mud, bugs, and odors. Augustine always called before coming. They were also very careful about not tracking mud through the house. The sidewalk crew that lifted the concrete to properly drain were very careful and accomplished a proper angle for draining. I was so happy to do business with them.
Description of Work: Rod Martin Complete Basement Systems rerouted our gutters away from the house, lifted the sidewalk so that it drained away from the house, installed 2 sump pumps, and installed a Clean Space liner system.

I haven't had the best experience with Rod Martin's Complete Basement Systems. I no longer deal with them. They were okay. He came out and did not keep his word. He supposed to come in and look at some other things and he didn't do it right. He never came back and did what he was supposed to. The were not punctual, but they were professional.

Once they began the work, it went well. It took a long time to get scheduled however as they only have one machine and it required 2 days back to back. They began the work in early December but then we had the extreme low temperatures and we had to wait until it warmed up for them to come back. They finished the work right before Christmas. The biggest complaint I have with the company was the lack of communication. It always took a phone call from me to get information. For example, the first day they were to come, I was told to expect them between 9 - 10 am and when I finally called to find out where they were, I was told they weren't scheduled to be there until the afternoon. I also found out that my sales person was gone with a phone call from me looking for information. They did not contact me about his leaving or to tell me who my new contact was. We got quotes from several companies to do this work and this was the only company who had a warranty longer than 12months. With the PolyFoam product, we got 5 years. The workmanship was very good - the team knew what they were doing and worked dilligently to get the work done and done well. We are quite happy with the new floor (which doesn't slope anymore!).

They did a good job of sealing the cracks, and I believe that it was done as it should have been, in terms of keeping water out. However I have 2 problems with the job. The first was that they never filled the holes in that they dug around the house. They dug 2' or so down to get at the cracks on a deeper level, which is great, but they never filled the holes back in, despite my comments on the evaluation, so I had to fill them in myself. The bigger problem - as I later came to understand - is they didn't do a very visually appealing job. The expoxy dripped in a few places, and the material they patched with was applied roughly and too heavy in some spots, making it look somewhat sloppy and unprofessional. What's more, they left the plastic ports and corks in, so I have all these pieces of plastic sticking out of my walls. I was unhappy when I found out this was the finished product, but i was told that's how it's done. I later had another contractor look at it, and he said the ports are supposed to be removed while the sealant is still wet. He said that Complete Basement Systems neglected to complete the job properly. Even though the cracks are sealed, it is unsightly.

I have a neighbor that used Complete Basement Systems for their foundation repair, and they were very happy with the outcome and price they paid. They had 9 galvanized helical piers installed with 6" angle iron all around for ~$16,000 (~1,800 each). Another neighbor used Complete to install 18 resistance piers (push piers), digging 4 ft. holes for each for $24,000, which comes to ~$1,300 each. A sales representative came out to look at the issue, and provided a plan/bid for 8 push piers. The cost was ~1,700 per pier for everything, well above the typical ~1,300 - $1,500 each installed benchmark for galvanized push piers. After discussion with the sales rep about how the price seemed high compared to what the neighbors had done, and concern that the pier plan did not address the issue, a new plan was proposed with 8 piers and 40' of 6" angle iron to cover the entire perimeter. This cost came to ~$1,900 each pier, all included. The sales representative and myself were unable to come to an agreement on a price and plan that I was happy with. I couldn't understand the logic of why the price was so high per pier, or why the price seemed so far off what my neighbors jobs were. Some reasoning was the "additional excavation" for the large sections of angle iron to go in, but my argument was that the soil was only a 3-18" inches above the bottom of the wall, and the holes themselves were only going to need to be about 1-2 ft. deep. In the end, the sales rep from Complete Basement would not budge on the price and plan, and I moved on to use another company which installed 13 piers with 26' of 8" angle iron at a final price of ~$1,600 per pier all included.

The procedure went very well. The work was done on time and very professionally. The workers did a great job of clean up. We no longer have a musty smell in our basement and the crawl space is clean and dry. It could be used to store things in. The materials that were used are very strong, a heavy white plastic and the area is light and bright now instead of dark, damp, and musty.

Complete Basement Systems wouldn't give us an estimate before we got an engineer's inspection. They referred us to an engineer and the engineer was way below standard. He was awful. It took two months to get him to give us an estimate and we only got him to give us that after we threatened him with legal action. Because we got such a bad referral for the engineer from Complete Basement Systems, we didn't want to go back to them. I was impressed with the man who came out from Complete Basement Systems and thought he was nice, but my gut feelings were that there was some kickback business that was going on.

On the whole, I thought they did a pretty good job, but there were some issues. The company tried to fix issues when we brought them up. The work generally was of pretty high quality, especially on the interior of the house. However, they did a rush job finishing the cement that had to be re-poured, and they did a shoddy job- the concrete is not smooth and was damaged (made not smooth) by a tarp that they used to cover it (due to the cold weather and the concrete curing). The top of the seal for the exterior waterproofing also needed to be re-done (which the company did at no cost after we brought it to their attention), and they replaced the original noisy radon fan with a quieter one (also at no cost). The job also took significantly longer than originally promised, and I was told by one of the workers that they should have had more people working on our job.
Description of Work: We had a damp corner of our basement waterproofed, and a radon mitigation system installed. We had the exterior wall of the basement waterproofed, a sump pump installed, and a radon mitigation system installed.

Called complete basements systems about getting my dirt crawlspace sealed off with a vapor barrier. I had a few questions about different methods. The company sent me out a very informative guide book that covered crawlspace issues and how to address them. Dave came to the property to do an on site analysis and was very professional, informative, honest and did not recommend anything that I did not need. I received a very competitive bid and was very happy with the company. An unforeseen financial obligation came up and I had to hold off on the job for now, but will contact complete basement systems to do the job when we are ready.

Well, we were quite conflicted about this review. We found Complete Basement at the Denver Home Show and thought it would be a great way to maximize the use of our otherwise unusable crawl space and cut down on the dust in our home. We called to schedule an estimate, and they were scheduling 2 or 3 weeks out. They then proceeded to call and email us multiple times over the next 3 weeks trying to get us ginned up about how great the company was ... before they had even come out to give us an estimate. We really felt like we were being stalked -- multiples calls and emails each week. Finally we got an estimate ... it was expensive, but the work quality looked excellent. So we scheduled the service, again about 3 weeks out. About 2 weeks later, we were called at 8pm to ask if they could change our appointment and show up at 8am the next morning! We politely declined, since we weren't ready for the work to happen. Then, about 2 days before our scheduled appointment, they called and tried to delay our appointment a few days. Again, we had to decline, because we were scheduled to be out of town. They promised that they would keep our original appointment. The morning of our appointment, they failed to show up. At 10am, we called them, and they said they had to push our appointment back to 1pm. They claimed to have called us, but they didn't. So, we learned that their promise to keep our original appointment just meant that they were going to try to squish two jobs into one day. And we all know how that ends ... our job wasn't completed on the scheduled date. They worked on our basement from 1pm to 8pm but couldn't get the job done. The next morning they did the same thing, coming to our house at 1pm after they had finished their originally scheduled project, and staying until 7pm. It was an annoying way to be treated. Despite all of that hassle, all of the scheduling snafus, all of the stalking by the salespeople at the beginning of the process ... we are actually quite happy about the quality of the work. The plastic liner that they use is very sturdy and very easy to clean, so it has made the crawl space a fantastic clean storage area. The workers were also quite careful in our house and they used a negative air containment process to keep the dust generated during their work to a minimum. The workers were also very polite. We would recommend the process to others ... with the caveat that the sales process is annoyingly overbearing, and the scheduling process is a mess. If you can get past those two negatives, you'll be happy with the final product.
Description of Work: Insulate and cover the walls and dirt floor of our crawl space with a heavy plastic liner to prevent dust from getting into our HVAC system and to enable us to use the crawl space for clean storage.

We made contact with Complete Basement Systems at the home show. A rep came to the house and examined the crawl space. We didn't have any water, mold or structural damage. He measured the space and provided some options and prices. He gave us 2 days to make an order at that price. On the scheduled day, they arrived on time. They removed all of the old insulation, and installed everything in one (long) day. They removed all debris and cleaned up. They came through a window in the basement rather than the house. It looks great, and is a lot easier to move around in the crawlspace for storage
