Once we asked for our money back, she refused to communicate with us.
Description of Work: We put a deposit down on laminate floors. They took our money and we never got the flooring or a refund.

Our first experience with Ms. Champion was in November 2015, when she was doing business as Life Management LLC. We had a leak in our master bedroom shower which was located under the shower pan. Because of the location of the leak under the shower pan, in order to permanently fix it, the shower pan and two feet of tile would have to be removed and the cost would be in the thousands. Life Management LLC was able to install an access panel under the shower pan and temporarily fix the leak, allowing us time to decide how we would like to proceed with a permanent fix. We were thrilled with their honesty and thought they had done a fantastic job for us. We then decided to add a walk-in closet to our master bedroom in February 2106. We again hired Life Management LLC, based on our positive experience with the leak repair. Life Management LLC did everything they said they would in installing the closet. They were very knowledgeable and even suggested adding additional reinforcement for a heavy barn door we were installing at the entry to the closet, which was very much appreciated. The project did run over schedule, but we expected that. In April 2016, we brought in Life Management LLC to paint two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a hallway for us. There were some issues with paint coverage, but Andi addressed them immediately to our satisfaction. We decided in June 2016 to remodel our basement bathroom and do some light remodeling in our basement. We didn’t hesitate to call Andi, who was then doing business as Craft Masters Renovations. At the same time, we signed an estimate/agreement for Craft Masters Renovations to install laminate flooring on our main floor and second floor hallway in July 2016. Both estimates/agreements were signed the same day and a Cashier’s Check for $5,970 was issued to Brett Champion for the materials and deposit on both projects, $3,779.04 for the basement and bathroom remodel and $2,190.96 for the laminate flooring and padding. Work began on the basement in July 2016 and Andi told us, via email, that the flooring had been ordered and was going to be drop-shipped to our home. We were pleased with the work in the basement at first. The drywall repairs, painting and can light installation went smoothly and look good. The bathroom tiling did not go as well. Once the tile was installed, we talked to Andi about concerns we had with the look of the tile. Tiles were lifting in areas, creating a very uneven surface and the small “penny” tile accent band was not straight. Andi agreed to have her tiler take out and reinstall the tiles that were of concern. We were still not satisfied with the work and that’s when things started becoming tense between us and Craft Masters Renovation. The plumber originally hired by Craft Masters Renovation was attempting to install the shower handles when one fell/broke off, creating a geyser in our bathroom. We had a good deal of water in our bathroom that now wasn’t draining and it then began extruding into the basement living area and onto our brand new carpet. It was then it was determined that the shower drain wasn’t working. Her plumber discovered that the drain was clogged with grout from the tile project. Andi sent another plumber out to attempt to clear the drain and he indicated that he was successful. We were willing to let the sloppy tile work go, despite our not being happy with it, just to have a working shower. We paid the balance on the job and were willing to walk away, knowing that we would not do business with Craft Masters Renovations in the future. The plumber had not been successful. We then had numerous emails and conversations with Andi, begging her to fix the drain. Conversations did get contentious and we threatened legal action and media attention…anything to get this project completed. We had spent close to $7,000 for a bathroom that was unusable and we now had 5 teenagers sharing our one remaining shower. Andi eventually agreed to file an insurance claim, but it was mid-September before we heard from the insurance. It is now mid-October and I am pleased to say that the insurance company has paid for a plumber to remove the grout filled P-trap and they are paying for a contractor to come out and retile the shower floor. In all this time going back and forth with the basement/bathroom remodel, the laminate flooring for the main level never arrived. We contacted Andi at Craft Masters Renovations and she is not contacting us back. We have asked for her to either refund the $2,190.96 for the flooring materials or provide the flooring materials to us. She is not responding to us. It appears that rather than take responsibility for her customers' complaints, she is changing the name of her business. Please be wary when doing business with Andi Champion, in whatever business she starts.
