they were GREAT! They came to us one day and informed us about a storm that came through in 2016 that our insurance should cover. they did all the ground work, helped us work through the claim process, the payment process and everything. The day they came to do the roof, they did it in one day. They were quick, efficient, friendly and cleaned up the mess. We worked with Zach Ingenthrone - he is a great guy. Super patient and professional!

Last summer my home took the brunt of the worst hail storm I've seen. Nate Plants reached out to me as a result, and choreographed getting my insurance out to survey the damage. Unsurprisingly, my adjuster insisted that despite the fact that every single other home on my street had sustained damage to the point of needing a new roof, my home had been spared. I wanted to give up-- in my seven years of home ownership I'd never filed a claim and now my insurance was brushing me off. Fortunately, Nate remained tenacious. He continued to reach out to my insurance (to the extent that I scarcely had to deal with them at all, thankfully!) until we got the opportunity to appeal and the second adjustor pushed through the claim at Nate's insistence. My new roof is beautiful, my leaks are fixed, and I barely had to lift a finger. While I highly recommend Expert Exteriors, I would say you insist to work with Nate. Without him, I would have given up!

lengthy delays in process

This company came out to see the damage caused by the hail and wind in my area, explained the process and even came out to meet the adjuster so that he paid attention to all the damage found! They are very customer oriented and helped me with my claim to the insurance. I'll be calling them when I need anything for the outside of my house. Awesome customer service!!

On June 6, 2016 a hailstorm hit our area. We were solicited by Expert Exteriors in order to gain our business. Expert Exteriors raved about their A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau. With an A+ rating Expert Exteriors gained our trust. We had experienced major damage from hail on our personal property and three additional properties. Expert Exteriors worked very hard to gain our trust and get all four properties under contract. They even went as far as spending time with our insurance adjuster in order to know exactly what would be done and how much would be paid out to them. Since we had never had an experience in working with our homeowners insurance and having so much damage we put our trust into both our homeowners insurance company and Expert Exteriors. Expert Exteriors service was excellent up until we signed a contract with them and handed over 4 checks from our insurance company. We were not comfortable handing them any of our checks but they assured us that this was standard process for insurance repairs. We still did not have a peace of mind giving over thousands of dollars prior to any work being done.. it turns out that three of the four insurance checks had to be returned to us because they needed to be cleared by our mortgage companies. When three of our checks were being returned I also requested that the fourth check be returned to us as well. I was told that the fourth check would not be returned because it was necessary and simply too late to be returned. The check had already been cashed by them. I was taken back but Expert Exteriors assured me that I could be confident in their service and that I should not worry about a check valued over $6000 Well I was worried! But Expert Exteriors would not give me that check back. Time passed and everybody in my neighborhood had gotten new roofs and windows and paint and tons of other repairs to their homes. Everyone surrounding me have closed out their insurance claims and their homes are finished and repairs completed. We continually pressed Expert Exteriors for dates and times for REPAIRS to get started! Over and over again we wanted to see the work on our homes begin. Nothing was done until the first week of October when we finally got a date to start repairs. The date was then changed and changed again. We had roofing materials dumped in front of our front porch that sat there for five days. We had three different start dates in order for our roof to get replaced and on each occasion Expert Exteriors had the roofing crews quit. We had also set up roof repairs for two other properties in which the same runaround happened. After mid October when nothing was completed on a single house we opted to end our business relationship with Expert Exteriors. We asked for the pile of roofing materials blocking our sidewalk in front of our home to be picked up and for them to return our insurance money to us. Expert Exteriors refused to pick up the materials and refused to refund our money. Expert Exteriors quickly contacted an attorney who then started threatening us. They stated that large sums of money were owed to them. We contacted the roofing manufacturer to have the supplies picked up and returned. Upon doing so we contacted Expert Exteriors and their attorney and gave them a list of all the headaches that have been experience throughout this process since June with them. We stated that if they thought we owed them money we needed to see invoices and work orders. So that we would know exactly what was owed. Expert Exteriors has been uncooperative and producing anything to show that money is owed to them. Expert Exteriors has had over $6000 that is not rightfully their money. Our phone calls have not been returned. Our emails have not been returned. Our money has not been returned. Expert Exteriors is trying to claim that in choosing to terminate our business relationship this is a breach of contract. They continue to keep our money and continue to threaten us. The fact that they have had our money for months and did not complete any work is not a breach of contract. If anyone did not uphold their end of this contract it would be Expert Exteriors. They do not have a right to have an A+ rating with the BBB, nor a good rating anywhere. We simply want our money returned in full for the work they promised to do but did not complete. They did not fulfill their contractual agreement. We deserve the right to have our money returned so that we can work with a reputable contractor that will do all the repairs that are necessary for our properties. In addition to all of this the delay has caused our insurance rates to skyrocket! Due to the fact that we have for open homeowners insurance claims each property is going up between 65 and 75% in fees. So not only are we out over $6000 taken from us we will now be spending hundreds possibly thousands of dollars in additional homeowners insurance because of this tremendously long delay by Expert Exteriors. Expert Exteriors has no regard for us as customers. We should have read more reviews from other networks such as Angie's List. We should have also taken notice that Expert Exteriors only had 5 reviews on the BBB. Expert Exteriors is not a good company and should not be trusted! They took our money, did nothing and will not refund us. We are out over 6K and they have an attorney that uses bullying tactics to get what they want. This is not good business. They are dishonest, deceitful and full of false promises. They are not interested in the customer. They are interested in taking the customers money, keeping it and not doing the work. It's a total scam and they have attorneys to back their unethical business practices. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EXPERT EXTERIORS!!!!

Expert Exteriors Report June, 2014 Sales staff for the company and acirc;??meets well.and acirc;?? They were well dressed and spoke nicely. They offered quality shingles and underlayment from Owens Corning, displaying samples or a brochure. After examining the shingles and checking BBB, we contracted for a new roof for our house. They required 50 % of the total cost at the beginning and the rest upon completion. We inquired about the crew doing the work and whether there would be a foreman on site and were reassured on both counts. The sales rep also said that he would appear on site during the process. After not hearing from them for a week, we called and found that the sales rep was out-of-town, but he called back and had our installation date established. A week later the crew showed up. No one rang the doorbell so we went out to meet them. Most spoke no English but the foreman was there. They began dismantling the old shake shingles by tossing them over the edge of the roof. They had placed a few tarps in front of the house but neglected to cover the deck that extends around the rear of the house. We soon had a terrible mess at the front and sides of the house, and all over the redwood deck that suffered the impact of a full bundle of shingles that crashed heavily having fallen off the roof. They did partial cleanups each day. On day three, we called to complain with the sales rep. One of the owners appeared and seemed surprised by the awful mess being made as they installed the new shingles. He also noticed that none of the crew were safety-attached to our very steep roof (in violation of OSHA rules). They were staying on the roof edge by bracing themselves in our gutters. The foreman did not appear again after the first day. On day four the new shingles were installed. We found, after they had gone, that the front and north side of our house was splattered with mud and debris, and that the protective screening that they had removed from some of the gutters was not replaced as promised. We reported this to the owner rep who came to inspect. He sent someone to wash down the house. He also had that person try to replace new screens but they did not fit the gutters. The owner-rep also was supposed to send someone to paint the base of our solar tube that was replaced during the roofing. After a week of no one showing up, we hired someone to get on the roof and do the painting. They left some shingles and underlayment for us in case of future need, which we appreciated. As we moved the leftover shingles and underlayment, we noticed that the underlayment was not from Owens Corning as the sales rep had said. It was then that we realized weand acirc;??d been silently downgraded to standard, buildersand acirc;?? felt tarpaper. At the time that our house was getting new shingles, two close-by neighbors were doing the same. The processes were vastly different. Those two houses never had a mess. Dismantling the old shingles did not involve throwing them all over the ground and deck. The work was done much more quickly also. All in all, we were disappointed with Expert Exteriors and would not recommend them.

Job went very smoothly from start to finish, very pleased with the end result. I would highly recommend them! Mike Gochenour, their project manager was very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. He was particularly knowledgeable of the City building code, which I believe was instrumental in obtaining a very reasonable claim settlement from our insurance company. Their subcontractor crew were very professional, did quality work and when we were hit with a bad rainstorm towards the end of the day, they returned the next day (Sunday) and finished the job. The company charged only the price quoted in their estimate (no surprises) and I ended up paying only our insurance deductible for the roof.

In June 2012 our neighborhood was pounded by a very large hail storm. Immediately all the "Big Boy" roofers (who you can read reviews on elsewhere on this site) dived in like vultures knocking on our doors offering to replace our roofs. (Expert Exteriors was NOT among those who went door to door). Due to the high costs and percieved hassle of replacing a roof we did not accept the "offers" from these other companies and are SO glad we didn't. I recently met Ryan (with Expert Exteriors) at a networking event and, concerned our roofs "health" (from having seen so many of our neighbors roofs being replaced) started to ask him about his job and how you know if a roof has damage from hail. Due to the expertise he displayed in his conversation I then confessed our roof might have damage and had him come out to evaluate our roof. Ryan came, found damage and presented a reasonable quote for the size of our roof. I am VERY anal retentive and, as such, dived into doing EXTENSIVE research on Expert Exteriors before moving forward. Based on the information I was able to find (all positive) I opted to move forward with Expert Exteriors. In what is normally presumed to be a "High Stress" experience, Ryan hand held us through the process, easily walked us through the insurance claim and met every deadline given on time or early. The roofers themselves came promptly at the time they had advised they would be there and worked hard through the entire day. Given that I work at home I have been able to watch all the other roofing companies at work. While thier roofers have all tended to slack off as soon as the supervisor leaves the scene Expert Exteriors roofers did not. They were instead some of the most hard working and exacting professionals I have seen. I was impressed that they laid a tarp around our entire house to catch any debris that might fall off while they were working and they drove thier truck off at night to empty it - both something the other companies do not do. At the end of the work day, and again when the project was finished, they also spent a good amount of time going around to house to make sure everything was clean. Ryan even came out again the next day to do a full cleaning and inspection. In addition to the roof, I had noticed that our gutter was leaking at the seam and Ryan had that fixed while the roof was being done. Some of our paint cracked under the roofs seam (an understandable and natural occurance in this process) and again Ryan came back to get that repainted. Both of these additional projects were done at no cost. As for the roof itself, now that it is done I can do a "Side by Side" comparison and it is clear how much better quality both the material used, and labor performed, was compared to other roofs done in our nighborhood. One roof done by another company even had "buckling" in their roof and the company had to come out a few days later to already work on it again. Our roof by Expert Exteriors is solid and well constructed and makes the other roofing companies look extremely poor. People... Having a roof redone is a major project and you want to make sure you research who does it, and find the best company out there to perform the work for you. Expert Exteriors was amazing in every positive sense of the word! They even give you a free annual inspection of the work and a lifetime warrenty. If you want a Hassle Free, expert roofing job done I would highly recommend this company. The process was both smooth and easy and the end result was of extremely high quality.
