Empirical Construction

We are very happy after working with Empirical Construction to complete a basement finish project. From the initial meeting to the final walk through, the process was very smooth and customer focused. Josh did an amazing job understanding what we wanted to accomplish. As a result, we now have a finished basement that greatly exceeds our initial expectations. We highly recommend Empirical Construction! Throughout the project, communication with Josh and his team was responsive and easy to understand. This included any questions that we had as the project progressed as well as any modifications along the way. In addition, all of the costs were explained up front and there were no surprises that affected the budget. Josh was also able to keep the project moving along as he was able to schedule the next work to be done as soon as the previous steps were completed. Our finished basement is now a great addition to our home. The quality of the work done by Empirical Construction was evident from the initial design phase all the way down to the smallest details in terms of materials and installation. For any future projects, we will be looking to work with Empirical Construction. Josh and his company would be a great choice for any of your home renovation or remodeling needs!

We have had a wonderful experience with Josh from Empirical Construction over the past 6 months of our very large "gut job" construction project of our home. He was physically at our house every day and oversaw every last detail of the job. His quality standards are high and he is very detail oriented which we appreciated. We have a historic home and wished to maximize form and function for our family while also maintaining historic charm and character. Josh was helpful in this process and helped us find solutions, such as a hardwood that would match the original flooring, that we are very happy with. We were very happy with all of the subcontractors that he works with as well. Perhaps most importantly, we finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET. Who can say that about a massive renovation project?? The only overages/delays we had were due to us (the owners) expanding the scope, and a couple of unforeseen structural issues from our very old (1903) house. Otherwise, the original budget and project schedule tied back. Each time we encountered unforeseen issues (e.g. structural floorboards that had been cut), Josh was very up front with us in explaining the issue and all of our potential solutions, with cost and timing implications. We were able to come to some happy medium solutions where we didn't completely blow our budget but also ensured our house was safe and done right. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Empirical Construction again, and likely plan to for a major kitchen reno in a few years.

For such a big job I was surprised at how smoothly it went. Best of all, it was completed in the time frame he gave us and within our budget. My family loves the additonal space!
