On top of the great communication throughout the renovation, they were also extremely kind. We also had the kitchen renovated at the same time as the bathroom. He finished on time, and was pleasant to work with. He didn't mind my type A personality when I asked him to remove several set tiles to get the grout lines lined up perfectly or when I didn't like my original design for the decorative tile strip. We are prepping for a kitchen remodel in the new year and will be getting a bid from him. Excellent.

+ 1 moreShane was very punctual--he always showed up exactly when he said he would. His estimate was within $15. He has a great eye with color of tiles and various fixtures. He provided suggestions for areas we could do ourselves. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Description of Work: Shane replaced all the fixtures in our bathroom: Shower, faucets, bath tub, sinks, toilet, etc. He put in a new larger drain pipe, beautiful wall tiles, floor tiles, paint, you name it. In 6 weeks he turned our 1984 bathroom into 21st century glory!

+ -1 moreThe entire job took about 6 weeks. Shane was extremely responsive and timely--when he said he would be there at 5PM he was on our doorstep at 4:59. His original quote was about $15 different from the final invoice, even with some changes thrown in. What we were really impressed with was his sense of décor/colors/tile types/faucet types. He listened to what we thought we wanted, made several recommendations, and then was very enthusiastic about our choices. He's super friendly too--we felt like we had another family member in our home for a few weeks:-) We couldn't be happier with our beautiful new bathroom!!!
Description of Work: Shane demo'ed and remodeled our bathroom from scratch. We had a leaky spa tub, bad plumbing and 35 year old fixtures. He expanded our drain, added a new tub, shower, sinks, toilet, tiled (floor and walls) and painted. He brought in another electrician who added a new fuse and helped bring our bathroom electric up to code. He also ordered custom shower doors that make the room look absolutely amazing.

He set expectations from day one and kept his word throughout the duration of the project. Communication was outstanding, with daily progress updates provided at the end of each day. When I had to leave the country for a week during the end of the project, I had no qualms about Shane continuing to work alone on the project. He even sent me daily email updates so I could track along with the progress. The quality of work was top notch and the pricing was reasonable based on the scope of the project. He turned what was a eye sore of a master bath into a beautiful space that my wife and I have enjoyed ever since. I highly recommend Dutchman Remodeling Inc for remodeling work!

Came out on a Thursday to look at the job, provided a quote the following day and began the work bright and early the following Monday morning. Shane is terrific at his trade and extremely trustworthy and honest as well. We would strongly recommend Shane to anyone needing remodeling work done - especially work entailing tiling. We have already shared Shane's contact information and have begun thinking about remodeling the upstairs bathroom...we know who we'll call for the job!
Description of Work: Remodel of downstairs bathroom - tiling, hanging dry wall, painting, installing vanity, sink, toilet and carpentry work. I needed a remodeler who could handle a wide range of issues with this old house (and new addition), and who could stick to our agreed-upon budget and also be adept working on a historic home with contemporary addition - Dutchman was up to the task on every count! Shane came in on-budget and with the quality of work that he promised. His construction knowledge is broad - from detailed trim work to tile installation to carpentry to structural to concrete to decking to restoration to closet design and construction, he seems to have a deep well of knowledge to draw upon and with which to both solve problems and suggest the best aesthetic and pragmatic solutions. While I won't go through all of the items in list above, what I can say is that Shane exceeded my expectations at every turn! He identified numerous issues that I wasn't aware of (a bathtub cleanout that was draining, not into the drain pipe, but rather into the wall, for example), and solved the problems quickly and thoroughly. He is an excellent communicator and true pleasure to work with, and after a few weeks of watching him work, it was obvious that my project was in capable hands. Shane worked seamlessly with the engineers and the other various subs on the job. The contractors he referred me to (landscaper, electrician and plumber) were very thorough and provided quality work. Dutchman is not low-cost, but also is not prohibitive - what Dutchman provides is realistic pricing for quality workmanship. Shane did an outstanding job on every facet of this project and stayed through the final inspections. He is intelligent, professional, and on-the-level. I can't recommend this company highly enough to Angie's members who are looking for good, solid, quality construction and remodeling/restoration.
