Ron came to the house and gave an estimate and explained what would be done within a day of my calling. It took a couple of weeks for he and his crew to actually do the work, because they were booked, but that wasn't a problem. When they came to do the work, the crew introduced themselves, and told me exactly what they would be doing. They had to come back a second day because it started raining. We are very pleased with the work. The sidewalks look great. Would hire them again.
Description of Work: resurfaced front sidewalk where it was crumbling. Also did back sidewalk from driveway to deck.

I was contacted promptly and provided with a description of the work that would be done and the cost. The work was then scheduled for a time convenient for me and it was completed as requested. Now my steps, porch, and entryway look beautiful and are much safer than before.
Description of Work: They repaired my front steps that had been slowly chipping away and applied a coating to the steps and the porch. They also repaired and coated the side steps and entry that had been badly repaired by someone else in the past.

it went well, came on time did a very good job,the crack un patio ,then put a beautiful finish on the whole patio, but the crack came back and is just as bad or worse
Description of Work: filled some big cracks in patio, but would advise if you have a crack, have it mud-jacked and then wait for a few months because if it is fixed the mudjacking can change and you will have a big crack again. i don't think i would spend the money on this again,i would replace the patio.6 months later,i am in the same place i was when i had the work done,in fact it might be a little worse, mudjackers raised the end that sank, then the crack was filled with a different filler that has cracked worse,i wasted 2000 dollars, that was a hardship for me. the concrete dr. was very nice but there is still a big problem i can't recommend doing this

Response from Concrete Doctor
This homeowner did not understand that she has an underlying issue with the concrete that causes it to keep cracking. The material we put on was the finish, very thin on the top surface to make it look nice. If she had it mudjacked and then had us repair the crack and it cracked again, there is some other underlying problem. It doesn't have anything to do with the finish we put on. Unfortunately, not everyone understands concrete, and what we can do and what we have no control over. We did perform her repairs twice (2nd time free of charge) trying to help her out, yet she still blames us.

We did complete the estimate within one week's time but could not get in touch with the customer to send the estimate to them within the week. We did see that he got it right after the weekend. when you request an estimate or confirm work with us, we let you know how long it will take us to get your estimate/work completed and we try very hard to meet those deadlines. Just because we do a good job and are "A" rated, does not allows mean we are busy, at least not in the current economy. Please give us a try and see for yourselves.

We contacted Ron for a quote; while it took a couple days to hear back, it was well worth the wait (and better than all the contractors who never called us back at all!) The soonest opening Ron had was a week and a half out. Ron came out, examined the crack on the inside of the wall, and exposed about a foot of the foundation to confirm the crack ran all the way through the wall. He gave us a written quote on the spot for the work to be performed, as well as a per-foot fee for the excavation. The quote was very reasonable, and we scheduled the work ASAP. Ron's 2-person crew came out on the scheduled day; they were prompt and polite. They performed the work quickly, and cleaned up after themselves (including vacuuming up and concrete chips or dirt that was tracked in). The crack did not run down as far as we had feared on the outside of the wall (3 ft. instead of 7 ft.), which saved quite a bit of time and expense. Ron and his crew seem quite busy, and with good reason. Despite the initial delays in communication, we would absolutely contact Ron again for any future work.
Description of Work: Sealed crack in foundation wall which went all the way through. Dug hole on outside of the foundation to expose the crack, filled and sealed crack both inside and outside. Removed roots pushing against the foundation.

It went fairly well. I phoned Concrete Doctor on Wednesday Aug 24, 2011 to ask for an estimate. Ron came out the next day describing what they could do, leaving a tufftrac paint selection chart and a written estimate. I phoned their office the next day and spoke with a very nice lady who answered some questions I had. The following Monday, Aug 29, I faxed my acceptance of the 2 jobs (back porch and foundation repair) and giving my porch color selection. They told me they would be out sometime the following week which they were. On Thursday August 8, 3 workers arrived. They cleaned out the deep cracks with electrically operated grinding tools then poured epoxy glue into the cracks. They repaired 2 of the foundation corners and began the repair of the 3rd. The following day, after the epoxy glue in the cracks had dried, they ground smooth the porch surface over the cracks. They then painted the porch with the textured tufftrac. The color appeared a little lighter than the sample I'd selected but they said it would dry darker. They completed work on the foundation corners. They did an excellent job on the porch and corners. The repair of the large cracks and smoothing the the porch surface was very well done as was the painting. My only concern was that the shade of green was a bit paler than what the sample showed. I phoned them about that and Ron came out the following Wednesday to check it. He said the color was what it should be and they were not liable if it wasn't and I should be grateful for their doing a good job. I was a bit disappointed in his attitude and gathered that the tufftrac coloring may be difficult to mix to the precise shade. The sample chart from tufftrac company did have wording suggesting that precise color matching can be difficult. Overall, however, I have been very pleased with the quality of their work on a difficult job.
Description of Work: I had an 11 foot by 22 foot back concrete porch with very wide and deep cracks running thru it which I wanted repaired and painted. Also 3 concrete corners of my house foundation had crumbled a bit and needed repair. Concrete Dr cleaned out the porch cracks, filled them with epoxy, grounded the surface smooth and painted the concrete porch with green textured "tufftrac" for $965. They repaired 3 corners of my concrete house foundation with new concrete, first epoxying one corner all for $240.

See above. The handprint was cut out, well preserved, ready to go someplace in out new garden. The concrete was repaired.
Description of Work: We were moving out of house we had lived in for 24 years, and I wanted to take with me a hand print of our daughter that was in the concrete patio. I had trouble finding anyone willing to even consider such a small job, but Concrete Doctor did. I told them the last possible day that we would own the home, and as that date drew near, the owner called me and said, "Oh, we have to get to this!" A very friendly worker came and did job well.

I got one other bid ($1950) from apparently the only other competitor in Denver, but that company did not include all of the work done by Concrete Doctor. This is apparently a family business. I agree that Ron is quite a character, but I enjoyed talking with him. He also "sold" me on some extra work, as another List member pointed out, but I believe I received value. He pointed out that he could fix the pipe holes in my porch which I needed done, but did not know he could do. He also sold me on "sealing" the driveway, but I thought this might help snow-shoveling next winter - we'll see! In any event, Ron's a salesman but I felt I could pick and choose what work I wanted done, and so the decisions were my own. The bid was itemized and gave a price for each project, which I liked and thought made the price more transparent. As to the work itself, I thought the work was well done, overall. Punctuality was not stellar, as the crew disappeared for 2 days, between the only 2 full days required for my job. I called to urge them to finish the job. I had the impression that Ron thought the crew was at my house the whole time and Ron might not be aware of where his foreman (Ron's son) was at all times. Totally cleaned up behind themselves. Bid amount was price I paid. I thought this contractor honest was fair.
Description of Work: Concrete repair and caulking at a 1925 bungalow: Caulking at concrete-to-house joints, including 2 porches, on 3 sides of house; repairing cracks in cement skirt at perimeter of house; caulking 90' joint between retaining wall to driveway; repairing one joint in retaining wall; repairing 2 cracks in concrete driveway about 15' each; filling 2 old iron pipe holes in front porch with matching cement (after grinding pipes down to grade); "sealing" entire 90' driveway.

The estimator was prompt and quite a character and did a bit of up selling ("while we're here...we might as well take care of this crack here and this one here and..." so on and so forth). If we hadn't know exactly what we wanted, it could have been dicey. The biggest concern in the end was the cost -- the initial estimate was $1,200!! It did include some driveway repair, but the portion just to recaulk the foundation was $800. It was about $600-700 more than any of the other estimates. I know cement contractors are in short supply, but this was some serious gouging. I'm a single woman in my 60s and don't like thinking that he saw an easy mark and a open wallet, but it's hard not to think that with estimates like that.

I received a written estimate 6 days after calling for same, and the work was completed one week later by two workers. One was more skilled than the other, but overall I was satisfied with the quality. I had this same company do similar work four years ago, including a 50' joint down the center of the driveway. Because the driveway caulk was starting to fail, it was removed and replaced at no charge and without my asking.
Description of Work: Repaired and sealed large concrete patio - gaps between sections, caulked many small cracks and replaced two small areas where concrete was crumbling. Also caulked and sealed flagstone porch where it joined house. About 110 linear feet was caulked and sealed, plus the two sections replaced.
