Colorado State Exteriors

Harry was great to look over the house with me to decide if I should make an insurance claim or not - we determined I should. He met me at the house again when the insurance adjuster was there. Harry was great to point out all the damage he saw even the items that he wouldn't be working on like damaged drain spouts. I hadn't realized this would be subcontracted out. I think I had to meet two more times for window measurements. The windows were ordered along with a question about if an adjoining window would be covered by insurance or not. They said they would let me know but never did. I was called when the windows arrived. The guys who installed the windows were good to work with; however, we didn't know which of two identical windows were to be replaced. I hadn't written down the exact window, and the subcontractor hadn't been told. We had to call into Harry who said it was a certain one; the subcontractor disagreed then Harry realized he had read his notes wrong. I couldn't believe this part. Then, after the installers had left, I noticed both locks on the two sliding windows were broken. I received an invoice without anyone from Colorado State Exteriors having seen the windows/door or talked to me. I emailed Harry with photos of the broken locks; he apologized and was able to get someone to replace them quickly.

Colorado State Exteriors was suppose to replace my home roof, my detached shed roof, and detached garage roof starting on November 4, 2016. They pulled a bait and switch on the materials that were to be used on this job. The contract said they were using a 30 mil synthetic underlayment, when they used a 15 mil synthetic on the house and detached shed, and a 15 mil tar paper was used on the detached garage. Also they were suppose to replace the rain cap and storm collar with a Dura Vent rain cap for a direct vent fireplace, but instead replaced with a cheap furnace typeB rain cap, twice. This caused my fireplace to become inoperable from November 5th until December 9, 2016. They refused to fix it correctly for me. They started the house roof on November 4th, had a midroof inspection on the 4th, and finished the roof at the end of the day. No one coordinated with the laborers to let them know that the extra materials on the house roof were for the detached shed and detached garage. When they finished the house roof they tossed all the drip edge, roof vents, underlayment, shingles (numerous bundles), and other supplies into the trash trailer. When they were finally told they were short materials because they threw them away, more had to be ordered. On November 5th, they finished up some things on the house roof, tore off the detached shed roof and replaced the shingles with bundles they had tossed off the roof the night before - along with bent up roof vents they dug out of the trailer. No mid roof inspection was done. I was told they were short on roof supplies and they would be ordering more for the detached garage. On Tuesday, I came home early in the afternoon to find they had put cheap 15lb tar paper on my detached garage instead of the 30 mil synthetic underlayment that was stated in the contract. I took pictures of the roof and left over rolls of tar paper that laid on the ground. About an hour later the crew showed up and started putting shingles down and finished up around dusk. No mid-roof inspection was conducted again. As of December 13, 2016 a final inspection of all the roofs had not been conducted according to Douglas County building permits. I discussed with Harry Barford, the project manager, several times about the underlayment used and also the poor quality of work done, along with damage done to my siding, trim, and garage doors because of shingles that were thrown against them. Some items were fixed and cleaned up but a majority were not. I also currently have white and brown drip edge on my roofs when I had asked for brown. They still fail to address the mid-roof and final inspections and the bait and switch items. Colorado State Exteriors now has turned this over to an attorney that is threatening to place a lien on our home, along with the company that supplied the materials. They are also threatening to place a lien on our home. I have approximately 60 photos taken of the poor workmanship and damage to my home. This company fails to take responsibility for everything done wrong on this project.

Colorado State Exteriors removed my old window and patio sliding door and installed brand new ones. They showed up on time and had the work done in a flash, scheduling 5 hours but completing the installation in about 1.5 hours; extremely fast!! They had an incredible price and was a full $2,000 less than anyone else that we had researched. Both of the installers got right to work and knocked it out, and the window and the patio doors not only function incredibly well but they also look fantastic! At some point we'll be replacing the other windows in our house and definitely be using Colorado State Exteriors again. Great job Jake and Yvonne!!

The job was done on time, the work was fabulous. Three things really impress me about this roofer: He's there when he says he will be, the roof costs what he says it will, and his crew is so TIDY! No nails, no shingle scraps, except for the beautiful new roof, you wouldn't even know they had been there. They also worked very quickly, this is important this time of year when we can often get afternoon thunderstorms. They even painted the roof jacks without me asking them to!

I've never written a review here before, but I had such a good experience with Colorado State Roofing that I thought this would be a good time to start! I've had very bad experiences with roofers before, so I'm a little gunshy with them. I scheduled this roof to be done, and then the rain started. Due to weather, we had to reschedule at least three times. Jake was great with communication about this. And when we finally had a break in the clouds, his crew was in and out in only about 5 hours. That's from start to finish, tear-off to completely done roof! And it's a good thing, too, because it rained again that night. The roof is beautiful, the job site is pristine, and their speed was awesome. I'd highly recommend this company.

I would happily recommend Colorado State Exteriors. We had extensive hail damage to our roof and Matt Daily and team helped us through the entire repair process. I found the team to be very professional. I especially appreciated the fact that they were not pushy, but they helped inform and were available whenever I had questions. Quality and timeliness were great. Very pro team.

They were fine. It was hail damage and they worked with us so we didn't have to come up with any money out of pocket. We had a slight issue, but they came back and fixed it.

Overall getting a roof from Colorado State Roofing was great. From the first meeting with Jake I felt good about using the company. I was treated with respect. Once the colors and styles were chosen the materials were delivered promptly and the work was ready to begin. I left for work at 8:30 and when I returned home at 6:30 the roof was done! I couldn't believe it. As for the clean up, they made sure to not to leave nails and debris on the ground . It was so nice to come home to a clean yard and a beautiful new roof. I would recommend Colorado State Roofing to anyone needing a roof replaced.

Colorado State Roofing was referred to me by a good friend of mine who said they did an excellent job on his roof just a month prior. I worked with Jake Keleman and Matt Daily. Both gentlemen are very professional, never misrepresented any information, allows showed up when they said they would, and the workmanship was amazing. My entire roof and gutter were torn off in about 4 hours by 9 or 10 workers. 4 more hours go by and I have a new roof. Naturally I was concerned the roof may have been done too quickly, but the fact is they are pros. They do this all day everyday and have gotten it down to a science. I really can't say enough about this crew of guys. Really impassive outfit. My roof was paid for by my insurance company. They offered me about 11,500 but missed several code items that needed to be done to pass inspecting and to do the job properly. Jake was able to go back to AllState and get them to agree to pay about 16,800 for the roof and gutters and some paint damage. My gutters were also replaced. They look and work great. I had them come back about 3 months later to install insulation in my walls and attic. Great price, more excellent work and good clean up. I had Jake come back again and put in 3 windows in March 2013. I trust these guys and have called them back 3 times now do do more work for me.

The workers were punctual and professional and the cost came in below estimate. They were able to match the color so you can't notice a difference in where the new shingles are. I would gladly use their services again.
