Beware! Ordered 3 months ago and no communication. Mellie the so called manager (customer service and only live person on the office line that said she’s also the office manager and has no supervisor) not only couldn’t answer a simple question about an install timeframe to expect (doors have been sent and received to their warehouse since July as confirmed by the manufacturer and Home Depot) but was so rude and highly unprofessional and condescending. The field reps were great but the office lady was a zero and I’d give them zero vs one star for having her as the face of the company. Shameful! I’m the end after 10 minutes and telling her to pass my contact number to the owner Todd and that I would be recording communications, she finally said I might hear from her in 6 weeks and then install would happen after that. Wow. Horrible communication and worst experience ever as a million plus homeowner. I will not be recommending to my friends and neighbors unless this is rectified.

The tech was prompt and very professional. But when he told me the the lifter need to be replaced, I told him I had a coupon from his company for a set price for replacement. But wouldn't you know, that discount only applied to a specific model, of which the company was out of stock! So I had to pay $30 more for another unit. He installed it quickly, and it's been working very well since. But after he installed it, he told me that my garage door's springs, rollers, etc were in terrible shape and needed to be replaced as soon as possible. I had had the entire door replaced about 7 or 8 years before, so I declined at the time. My final take: the company did a good job overall, but I was turned off by the hard sell. Probably won't use them again.
Description of Work: The motor on my garage door lifter died, and this company replaced the entire unit.

Austin showed up on time and immediately began installing the garage door. The contractor did not include the garage door opener in the contract so Austin called his office to see if there was one available that he could install. There was, so he took lunch, picked up the opener, and returned to complete the install. This happened just before snow fell that evening. Austin was extremely helpful, professional, and great at customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a new garage door.

We got estimates from 3 different garage door companies; one charged us for the estimate. We went through Costco for one of the estimates. Colorado Overhead Door is the Denver area installer for Costco. They were prompt with the estimate and were a little bit higher in price , but the garage doors were a much better quality. The difference was in the amount of insulation with a thicker door. We did visit their office to see samples of different doors. Their office is not a fancy showroom, but it helped to see different door options. We were called a week ahead of the installation to make sure the date still worked for us. We were given a 2 hour window for the installer to arrive. He arrived within the first hour and was done within 3 hours. We had some new garage door openers installed by another company and they were reinstalled and codes set up. We had the doors with a glass panel in them and we really like the light that comes in with them; we will have to wait for next winter to see how the insulated doors perform. The new doors have a seal along the sides that require the trim boards to be removed. Removing the trim boards will result in the paint being chipped around the new doors. I don't see how this cannot happen. You will need to do some touch up painting; the new doors do provide a much better seal and for me this was worth the painting.

I just purchased a home with an insurance policy through American Home Shield who referred to Colorado Overhead Door Company. A call at noon today and the soonest they could respond to replace garage door springs is Friday, 5 days out. They couldn't give me a price on the phone for an upgraded high cycle count spring even when I provided door dimensions and construction. Needless to say, I am not impressed with the competence of the phone staff or their ability to service emergency calls. Presumably American Home Shield chose them for some reason other than their ability to service urgent repairs :-) I called another company: Garage Door Systems, and within thirty minutes they showed up at the house with springs on the truck.

Overall, I am not going to be a return customer.
Description of Work: They fixed a problem with the garage door. A beam in the garage door bent out of shape. They replaced the beam but not the underlying problem. Six months later the beam's bending again and they wanted to charge us $80 to come take a look at it.

They arrived as promised and completed the work in a day, including cutting and installing the cat door. They were cheerful and professional, and explained how everything worked. A good experience and good work. Door is good quality and the garage is much more comfortable as a result.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the assesment of the problem and my garage door works fine since the fix. The service was a little pricier than I was expecting and the agreed upon time was pushed back a couple of hours, but the provider was in communication through out the day so that didn't really bother me too much.

I use a home warranty service. When I was notified that this vendor would be doing the service I immediately checked to see if they were listed in Angie's List. They were. My parts had to be ordered and Mary was awesome working with my warranty company to get things pre-approved prior to the work. John completed the service requested and required. He was professional, patient (with all my questions), helpful, on time and the job was done in less than 2 hours. I was very pleased with the entire process.
Description of Work: I needed to have my garage door calibrated and my key pad replaced. Because original equipment was basically, "obsolete", and the parts were not offered by the local distributor, I had the option of installing a new opener. I opted for the new opener.

This work was arranged through Costco, and the price was about 20% less than a competing bid for the same doors. A worker arrived at the stated time and day, efficiently removed the old doors, and installed the new ones, all in about 4 hours. He cleaned up well, then had me come out and inspect the work, and explained how to do maintenance work on the moving parts.

I left a message after business hours and they called me back first thing the next morning. They offered me an appointment time that day but that didn't work for me, so we made an appointment for the next day. The technician arrived within the coordinated timeframe, went right to work, and was finished in a short time. He willingly answered all questions that I had and even did a couple of extra tasks that were not part of the original work ticket (fixed the light and the remotes). Since I had asked him to do those extra repairs, I expected the total to come in above the estimate, but the final bill was exactly the amount that was estimated over the phone - what a pleasant surprise! I would definitely use this company again and have already recommended them to a friend.
Description of Work: Replaced springs on garage door; lubricated all garage door wheels & tracks; rebalanced garage door; adjusted contact for light on garage door opener so it would work again; and reset all remotes (at my request). The work included a 5-year warranty for both parts and labor.

The whole experience from start to finish was great. I found someone in Longmont to replace broken torsion springs on my garage door. From the time I called to the time it was fixed was less than two hours. The techician (who also is part owner) was on time, professional, and quick. I was told upfront what was wrong, what it would cost to fix, and that the the part came with a warranty. Would use them again and recommend.

It went very well. The installer did call to tell me that he was running late from a previous job as well as being delayed due to snow that morning. I was working at home, so I was flexible. I always appreciate a simple call to let me know these things. When he showed up, he had the right size springs in his truck and was friendly and professional. He went over the rest of the door operation and the opener to make sure everything was in good working order and showed me his work. I realize some of that inspection is done to see if there is the potential for any more work, but on the other hand, it was good to know that I didn't have any other issues. I would have liked to have asked if I had an option on the springs as I would prefer something made in the US vs some cheap import from China. However, I didn't think to ask that up front. In retrospect, if I did have the option for some "premium" springs, I would have likely needed to wait.
Description of Work: Replace horizontal (torsion) garage door springs for a sectional, 2-car, attached garage door as one of them had broke. I had done this type of job myself a number of years ago, and apart from being a chore, it can be dangerous. I pick and choose my battles in terms of how ambitious I want to be in home repair. In my opinion, for the money, this job is best left to professionals.
