College Hunks Hauling Junk & College Hunks Moving

Some positives, lots of negatives. The only positive was that they didn’t damage the furniture being moved or anything in the house. The negatives are lengthy…(1) They ended up charging me more than the quote. The person whom I made the reservation with told me that there was a one-hour minimum, and I’d then be charged on a pro-rated basis for each 15 minutes thereafter. The movers spent 1.75 hours, but insisted that they have a 2-hour minimum, and charged me for a full 2 hours. (2) They did not give me the hardware that they removed from the king size bed frame. Halfway through the move, I questioned the hardware (bolts, screws, etc.), and one mover told me that they would of course wrap up the hardware in a package and hand it to me before leaving. Amidst all of the chaos of the move, I forgot to check about the hardware before they left, but 4 days later, when trying to sell the furniture, discovered that they had taken the hardware with them, which rendered the bed useless. I contacted their supervisor, Dustin, (phone and text) who assured me he would get back to me after speaking with all of the movers on the job. Despite me writing him with a text hours later requesting an update, he never responded (now more than 24 hours later). This meant I needed to contact the furniture manufacturer to inquire about hardware, take measurements, and go to Lowe’s to purchase the stolen hardware myself. (3) My house smelled like cigarette smoke even after they left. (4) One of the movers assigned to the job was confrontational and unfriendly. Overall, it was a stressful move, exacerbated by additional stress afterwards due to the stolen hardware.

TL;DR: stolen stuff and couldn't even get a call back from the company, let alone replacement/recourse! These are shady and scummy! Upon arrival to the new location, mover smelt strongly of my cologne. I returned to my first location. The bathroom smelt strongly of the same cologne. Cologne was missing from my bathroom counter. I had literally put it there that morning as I cleared off furniture. It was also next to my other cologne; I literally always place them in the same location together. Just in case, I looked in EVERY possible location in my bathroom. Confronted mover about it, he denied taking despite still smelling like it (for context he arrived smelling of cigarettes). I hope it's replaced quickly and I hope it's done in a manner that does not put me any danger from a angry employee/former employee that knows exactly where I live. Pretty dope paying $600 dollars to get a $70 bottle of cologne stolen and immediately worry about my safety in my new apartment. In attempt to resolve the issue, I reached out to the number on the website. They said they would look into the issue. I heard absolutely nothing. I called to follow up, the company then told me that they were only a hub and each operation handled things in their own. They told me that there is no recourse if the local company does nothing. I do not expect a return call. Oh, there was also a huge stain on my couch from the move AND they left their trash in my apartment

WORST service EVER. I actually called them a week ago and started with the fact that I had a particular EXACT date that we had to move based on my getting time off from work and my husband’s getting his time off. I requested that if they couldn’t do that date please don’t waste my time. I was assured that they could accommodate us. Even when the person confirmed the day before they said, “no problem just talk to the guy tomorrow.” We drive an hour for the appt at our old house and the guy called at the time he was supposed to show up and said he could not do our date. What the h e double hockey sticks is that?! Horrible business tactics and now we lost a whole week to find someone who COULD accommodate us. I could have easily used a big company like Allied but my husband and I always like to use mom and pop shops to help smaller business owners. Well no more. Please don’t use this company.

Austin, Israel and Zach were our crew. Arrived on time, explained pricing upfront, did the job quickly and well.

College Hunks exceeded my expectations. My hunks were very professional, arrived early, asked the right questions and got straight to work. The move was complete within a couple hours.

Movers were not careful and washing machine fell down stairs putting holes in the wall and hurting the mover, who had to go to emergency for stitches. New movers had to come out later to finish job. Gave us a price break due to the situation.

My experience was excellent! Two very nice, capable young men arrived right on time and did the work quickly and efficiently. The price was fair, in my opinion. I will absolutely use the company again if a need arises.

Fine. These guys hustled...carried heavy stuff upstairs like it weighed nothing, even though they did not look like they could carry that much. They were polite, neat, and fast. We do wish we had received a more accurate estimate of the volume we needed hauled away. A personal visit to look at our stuff would have been nice. In the end, the junk was gone!

I just want to say just how fabulous the crew (Jarrod, Josiah, and Brian) were while removing construction trash from my yard. I could not be more pleased. From the initial meeting for the estimate to the final raking of the lawn, my experience has never been this good with haulers/movers. These guys called before they came, confirmed place and time, and were on time (exactly on time!) for the estimate and the job - with less than 1/2 a day lead time - wow. The crew arrived for the job and literally ran non-stop for the entire job. Again WOW. They constantly made sure that they were removing only the trash I wanted removed and operated in a fast but very safe way. Again - wow... And the cost was great - I got fantastic value for my money. I have included before and after pictures - just fantastic!

Brian and Ethan arrived early and were professional and hard-working. They finished the job (moving decorative rock from the driveway to the back yard) in 2 hours. We are very happy with the results. We will definitely use College Hunks again in the future if the need arises.

They were fine and they were very good. He was very nice and followed my time schedule. He helped me clean up at the hotel and all that.

They were great! They were on time, they were responsible, and professional. The reason why I used them is because they sponsored one of my friends' charity event so I guess they are community-minded and charitable.

They did a great job and were very professional - pricing was higher than I anticpated, but worth getting the job done promptly.

College Hunks was great! The issue we had was that we needed a junk hauling company that would come on a Sunday. Many of the companies do not work on Sunday. CHHJ had good reviews on AL, so we gave them a try. Based on the schedule we had for that day and the openings they had, we had them scheduled for early evening. On the Sunday, one of the guys called and asked if they could come earlier in the day. It ended up working out ok for us, so we did it, but I do not know what the result would have been had we had to stay with our original time. They showed up on time (the new time) and were courteous and professional. And yes, they were college guys, basically working during summer break. We pointed them to the stuff in the garage that needed to go (we had had hauled up the stuff from the basement to outside already). They were pretty adept at organizing the truck to get the maximum amount of stuff in the truck. It was easy, fast, and efficient. The only real complaint I have is the cost. However, it seems all these junk hauling places are very pricey. Based on other prices I saw, I didn't think they were out of the norm for all the other companies. It just seems to me it is an expensive proposition in general. But it was something we had to do right at that time.

It was very good. I was very happy with the price.

It went "swimmingly". They stayed in touch with us, called us when they felt they might run behind a few minutes, called again and said they were on their way. Then they got here, told us about the company, gave us a quote and quickly hauled the old furniture away. Impressive young men doing a beautiful job in less than 10 minutes! Cannot beat that!

Showed up the same day as called, fully prepared to handle the job. Quickly and professionally handled.

I sent a request for an estimate online and received an email saying they would call me within 1-2 hours. Nothing. After waiting 2 days, I called them. A pleasant man told me he would have a local mover call me the next day between 1:00 and 2:00 to get my information and provide an estimate. At 4:00 the next day, after not hearing from them, I called again. After looking through all the records, they told me my call had been "cancelled." Why? THEY NO LONGER PROVIDE MOVING SERVICES IN DENVER. I told them that have been nice to know before we started this process.

It went well! They showed up on time, they were pleasant and courteous. It was an extra bonus that they were able to recycle the sofa!

They were on time, courteous and professional. The price was a bit steep, but they did a great job.

Very courteous and competent movers arrived on time , and even got done faster than I thought. Very strong and capable guys, polite as well.!

Overall: the crew that was assigned to me was 45 minutes late - they called about 20 minutes late and said the delay was the traffic - they had an attitude that told me they thought it was funny and I felt they simply stopped for coffee. They took forever to pack, one book at a time, if you will. Upon unpacking many of the pictures were not wrapped properly. At least one box of bathroom items never did show up; bathroom rugs and the shower curtain (which I specifically asked them to pack). An arm of the lounge chair was broken off. The real issue is there is no main office; just the local booking or call center. So to find a manager that could address these issues was vertically impossible. That being said when I was able to connect with the right person the financial compensation was surprisingly more then adequate.

They were fabulous. They were just stellar. They did everything I wanted. They were eager and competent. I would have paid twice what they charged. I called their supervisor and the franchise office in Florida to say how great they were.

I called the company and setting an appointment was very easy. They have Sat hours which was very helpful for me. They arrived a little early and hauled away the 2 items quickly and professionally. They say they want things to be stress-free and it definitely was.

My time slot was between 10:30 am -12:30 pm and I was called around 11:00 am and the Nick let me know they would be there in about 30 mins, which there were promptly there 30 mins. later. He asked me if "they explained the estimate to me on the phone?" I told him that no one called me at all. I was given the estimate on the spot, $208! I was shocked it was going to be that much for a couch and a small chair! I was offered a $20 donation discount, which brought it down to $188. Because of my need to get rid of these items quickly, I went ahead and let them take the couch and chair and paid the $188. The guys were quick and professional and they were only there 15 mins total. However, the price is OUTRAGEOUS!
