Bret Briggs Carpenter/Handyman

Bret is amazing! We had purchased built in type cabinets for our master bath and was having a difficult time finding someone to install them until we contacted Bret. He responded to our email immediately and arrived on time. I am very picky and he exceeded my expectations. He is a great communicator. He asked what we wanted done and made recommendations on how it could be finished even better. He worked quickly and when he was done it looked just as I had imagined - perfect! We have a couple more spaces where we would like some built ins. As soon as we are ready to go forward on those projects, we will be contacting Bret. He's a true professional and a really nice guy.

Bret was very responsive and professional from our initial contact to the end of our project. We did all of the initial design and estimation over email--I sent pictures of the current spaces along with pictures of things I had seen on Pintrest/Houzz that I liked and he responded with his ideas and an estimate of effort. Although I was initially a little leery of hiring a contractor sight unseen, Bret's prompt replies (typically within the same business day) and detailed responses provided reassurance that he knew what he was talking about and would be reliable. Bret showed up promptly on our scheduled start date ready to work. As we walked through the spaces, Bret offered up additional ideas to improve the design to make it more functional or aesthetically pleasing. Results: We love the laundry room built-ins. Even my husband, who didn't understand why I wanted to "improve" the laundry room, can't stop talking about how great it is! The nursery/secondary bedroom is even better than I imagined! Bret's design of the board and batten makes it look like it has always been there. Bret is a pleasure to work with: - he showed up every day promptly and worked very efficiently--it's amazing how much he can get done in a day! - he tidied up his work space at the end of the day and thoroughly cleaned up after the project was complete - he has a great eye for design and ties in to existing trim details seemlessly - he finished the project within the estimated timeframe and budget - he is personable and just a nice guy to have in your home

We found a picture and Bret took it and replicated it perfectly! He was easy to work with and the finished product is stunning. We plan to have him do more work for us. I would recommend him for his skill and his price was unbeatable!

Bret called a few days before to confirm... he showed up early everyday and he cleaned his work space every night. The Bookcase and desk needed to be taken apart and redesigned. Bret did an AMAZING JOB both pieces look just the way I imaged and now they both belong in the 21st century!

We had two occasions this past September and October to use Bret’s carpentry skills. We called him to fix a door that was binding on the floor. He then inspected every door in the house and adjusted them as necessary to ensure proper installation and function. We were so impressed, we asked him to come back for several projects. Among other general carpentry tasks, he reattached facing around the deck, put on exterior log siding on a portion of our log home, and crafted and installed wooden baseboards throughout the house. He worked with pine, maple and oak. Bret’s communication practices are excellent – he called me back and replied to emails promptly. He was polite, kind and respectful, and very professional. Bret arrived on time and immediately set to work, and he continued to work very diligently until the various projects were complete to our satisfaction. We couldn’t be more pleased to have found Bret. He is a craftsman and the quality of his work is excellent. We will definitely ask him to come back when we have more projects.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! Far EXCEEDED our expectations! He was punctual, courteous, and extremely professional. He is an extremely hard worker who is honest and sincere. We will be using Bret in the future to finish our basement. BTW, I'm a very analytical perfectionist and couldn't find the slightest imperfection with his work.

Bret was great to deal with. He responded quickly to my request. I wrote him a quick description of what I wanted, accompanied with some pictures, and he 'nailed' it. (Pardon the pun.) He showed up on time, brought the materials he had purchased, completed it in the time he had estimated, and it looked good. The cost was also on target. He's not just a handyman, he's a craftsman.

I called Bret after seeing his listing on Angie's List and set up a time he could give us an estimate for bookshelves/ cabinets along an empty wall of our house. His estimate and ideas blew me away but what really sold me was his personality and very reasonable price. Much better than the other 2 companies I had over. His work was excellent, he finished under the days he estimated and under the price he had estimated! I cannot stress enough how professional he is and how high quality his work is. It is so rare to find a true expert in the field of carpentry but Bret is it. He cleaned up everything and only left us with a spectacular bookshelf/ cabinet combo. I HIGHLY recommend!

Bret did a great job. He was accessible and worked quickly. He stripped the skis but was able to keep and even enhance some of the original detail. We were very happy with the work, the timing and the cost.I would certainly use Bret again, and I am planning to have him install a fire door for me from the garage to the house. Will let you know how that goes.

He made a very good suggestion on some of our cabinetry. He took that one cabinet above the refrigerator and he made a suggestion and it worked out very well so we were pleased with him. We would use him again. It's very reasonable. We're gonna ask him to come back and give us a bid on another thing.

Bret was very responsive in our pre-engagement communications. He showed up when he said he would and performed the construction with professionalism at the quality he proclaimed and under the maximum budget he estimated. He was friendly, considerate of the work environment and cleaned up everything before leaving. His suggestions on improving the design were welcomed. We are very satisifed with his work and would use and recommend his services in the future.

From my first contact with Bret, he was professional and responsive. His work is high quality. His final invoice was on the lowest end of his estimate. He worked quickly and efficiently, and treated me fairly. I will call Bret again.

We had initially agreed to have him install crown and chair rail moulding in our dining room. Prior to his day to arrive we had new carpeting installed and the sliding closet doors no longer moved due to the deeper carpeting, so I asked him to trim the doors down so they would slide easily. He did all of the above quickly, professionally, and did a great job. In addition to the above work he noticed that my door frames on the front and back doors had gotten out of square over time and the doors were badly sticking when closed. He adjusted the frames on both and they operate like new now. Bret's rate is very reasonable and he works very efficiently. No wasted time. I just can't say enough good things on the job he did. I will without a doubt use him again.

He handled the job as professionally as if it had been a major kitchen remodel. Brett kept in good contact, was punctual and gave a fair estimate of what would needed. He tried to keep costs down by making use of spare wood pieces we had around the house instead of suggesting purchasing new. He worked efficiently and quickly and completed the job in a couple of hours, and the dog house is better than when it was new.

Thiw was the second time I used Brett's services. He did a wonderful job. Is definetely a perfectionist and his work on the crown mouldings is perfect. He had other commitments before he could do this job and since it wasn't a necessity I was happy to wait. Next job for him will be a bath remodel at my house i n the future. Really rccomend him for all types of work.

Bret is a fabulous carpenter and handyman. He is very skilled and quickly adapts to many different situations and tasks. His versatility is amazing as it seems there is no task that he can't handle. Bret's work ethic is fantanstic. He arrives early and works hard all day. His personal productivity makes his daily rate a great value. Bret is also very nice to have around. His upbeat, optimistic, respectful attitude makes him a pleasure to be around day in and day out. He is very polite and considerate. He is also easy to reach via cell phone and/or text message when needed. Finally, the fit and finish of his work products are excellent. Not just for trim carpentry, but other aspects of his work as well. Frankly, I don't know if we could have completed the remodel as quickly and as successfully without Bret's involvement. I would without question hire Bret again in the future!

We had a hideous 1970's manual. I asked Brett if he could add crown molding and a new top to cover it and it worked wonderfully. It looks fabulous and totally transformed the whole room. I will definitely use Brett again as we replace other woodwork in our home.

Bret was great to work with. Very courteous of our "shoes off" household and was able to work around it no problem. When he first got onsite he explained all the big steps to us. Along the way he would check in with us to make sure we didn't want to change anything or if he thought of something and wanted to run it by. Definitely will use him for woodwork in the future.

I've been remodeling my 1,600 square ft, high rise condo and there were so many "little" things that were not finished. My General Contractor was a flake, unreliable and cut corners even though I paid him i full. That contractor did not come through Angie's List, however. I found Bret in Angie's List and he was amazing in every way. Hung doors, finished baseboards, painted, completed a tub drain, hung bathroom rods and window rods, etc. He did it quickly, within the expected price range and I would not hesitate to hire him again once I get moved in and if there are any other unfinished issues.

. He was on time for the estimate, had suggestions for the project. His bid was a fair price and we agreed to proceed. A week later he did the install so he picked up the materials and was back at the house to work. It was a 2 day project for him, he worked steadily and also neatly.He was very thoughtful and nice to have in the house. I will be using him again to install crown mouldings this spring. Will lkeep in contact with him for any projects needed. My husband feels the same way.

Bret was wonderful to work with in every aspect of this project. He responded quickly, and answered my question even though all of our communication took place via email. He arrived when he said he would, and worked until the job was done. Even though there were some difficulties, due to my errors, Bret was a professional of the highest degree throughout all of it. Eventually, we solved the issues, and Bret finished the job quickly, with excellent results . His rates are extremely fair, and his communication throughout the job was exemplary.
