I highly regret doing business with this company. Our house had catastrophic water damage after a supply line broke when we were not home. Belfor (Contractor was Kevin M.) repaired almost our entire house while we moved out. It is now 2.5 years since the repair work and since we moved back into our home, and the very poor work quality and cut corners are coming through in everything they did. They cut many corners that we must now deal with (at a large expense). Severe problems with the wood floor, ripples in the all of the bedroom carpets, and I could go on and on. Belfor counts on their 1 year "warranty" and does work that will get you by for a year, but it is not quality work. Beware that if your whole house is repaired by them you will likely be dealing with house repair expenses for a long time after the year warranty to fix all of their poor work.
Description of Work: Whole house repair after catastrophic water damage
45 days after buying and moving into our first home, the unimaginable happened. Our 100+ year-old building suffered a roof collapse. For the next 2 years, our Belfor Property Management Team, lead by Kevin & Mike, did an amazing job navigating our unique and complex path of creating engineering plans, pulling permits, demoing, rebuilding, restoring, renovating, and bringing our building up to code. And because it’s a condo, Kevin worked tirelessly with 8 different insurance policies - fighting for what was right on our behalf. The work is solid, and I’m thankful that we had such a skilled, transparent partner for this complex job. I hope you NEVER need to call on property restoration services - but if you do, Belfor Property Restoration restored much more than property for us.
We bought a home that had just had a major renovation completed by Belfor Property Restoration due to a flood from a pipe freeze. You don't really know a home till you live in it and a home inspection can only catch so much. After living in this home for two days we saw so much in terms of poor workmanship, improper installs, code violations, incomplete work, the list goes on. After reaching out to them to stand behind their work, they declined. I would never hire this company EVER to do anything. There was no pride of workmanship displayed anywhere. We have spent a small fortune correcting all their mistakes. The common statement we have gotten from the qualified HVAC guy, or the plumber, or the appliance repair guy is "who did this work?? It's horrible." If you have an insurance company that recommends them, insist on another recommendation......and change your insurance company too if they insist on using them.

There was a problem in the basement, a flooded basement. They were very responsive, very timely, did excellent work in a timely fashion. It was an emergency situation they responded very well.
They were absolutely fabulous! They were terrific! They were on time with their subcontractors, they were punctual, they were easy to deal with, they did absolutely excellent work, and cleaned up everyday. I can't say enough good about them. Once they started, they were done in 6 weeks with everything. One bedroom was destroyed, and so they had to do carpeting. They matched the paint, they matched the column with the other 3 columns. They were wonderful to work with.
Description of Work: We used BELFOR Property Restoration. We had somebody who ran into our house, and they did all the restoration work. They had to repair a wall, they had to put up new posts that held up our 2nd floor deck, they replaced the windows of a whole big section of our ground level basement. They had to repaint inside and outside.
I spoke with them and they gave me some of the places they have done. They had a folder and everything and they discussed it. I just felt that since that was what they did pretty much that they were the company to go with because they did everything. They didn’t just say to find other company that wasn’t really anxious to do the job. They could do the roof but they couldn’t do the other stuff easily and this is the company that that’s what they do so that’s why I chose them and I’m just very happy to do so and they did a wonderful job.
Description of Work: I used Belfor Property Restoration for a complete garage redo. I had a fire and they cleaned up, put roof on, electrical and new garage doors.

The service performed (see above) could not have been done better.
Description of Work: New Year's Day evening, just before dark, the driver of a large SUV blacked out near our home. The car went out of control then into our yard, hit a 14' stone column support on our deck in the back of the house, then crashed into our house, smashing windows and structure, creating a huge, gaping hole in our house. Fortunately no one was injured. We were then faced with a huge hole in the outer wall of our home exposing the interior on a freezing cold night, and a holiday. We were sure there would be no one who could come that night. However the driver of the suv happened to have had a very positive experience with Bel For, a company in Denver that does property restoration on an emergency basis. They were at our house in no time, set up "shop" in our backyard in the six degree night and worked until 9:30 pm cleaning up and made wood panels to fit the hole in the house. The next morning before 9:00, they were at our house with insulation for the interior side and absolutely no cold air comes in from the outside. Steven Johnson was the Emergency Services Team Leader for our project that night with a team of two other young men. Each of them was very friendly, calm and professional. The cleanup they did and how quickly they got everything in perfect shape, considering the overwhelming mess was nothing short of amazing. We will always be grateful to Steven and his team for the superb job they did for us. We were impressed enough to hire this company to do the complete restoration work on our house which will begin soon.
We are part of the Waldo burn area in Mountain Shadows. Our insurance company recommend Belfor and sent them out to give us an estimate for the smoke damage from the fire. Their rep came exactly when he was scheduled to and was very thorough and professional during the walk through process. That is where it ended. The company called to schedule services before I received a bid so I didn't know what they were going to do or how long it would take. The person who called didn't know either because they weren't given any info on our job. When we finally got a bid it was incomplete. Several major things that needed to be done were left off and they charged for cleaning blinds in several rooms where there weren't any. I emailed the rep several questions and called him. He didn't return my call for 3 days at which point I called him. He apologized said he was busy and would send me a revised estimate. I received 2 more calls to schedule service from the company and still no one could tell me how long it would take or what they would be doing. When I received the revised estimate, several days later, it was still incomplete and had wrong things listed. Needless to say I went with another company. I left them a message to say I was going with another company since no one answered the phones. I am still receiving calls from them wanting to schedule service. Their bids on some of their services were quite a bit lower than others I have received and others were higher, so in general I would say their bids were reasonable when averaged out.
Description of Work: They were suppose to perform restoration services from smoke damage. Fixing water damage on hardwood floors by sanding and refinishing, removing and re-installing balusters and handrails, clean carpet, drapes, walls, ceiling, furniture, mitigate smoke, remove and re-install insulation, power wash the exterior of the house.

My insurance company sent this company out to do an estimate for repairs to my basement which was damaged by a sewer backup. They were on time, looked professional and where nice when they were at the house. Once the quote went to the insurance company and was approved I was ready for them to come out and talk to me about the work that was needed and some changes and other work I wanted done. This is where it all fell apart. They just wanted me to say do what was quoted and did not want to talk about anything else. He refused to come out and talk to me. I wanted to go over a few changes and some other work I wanted done. That made him made and just kept saying over and over and louder and louder that he does not work for free. He finally said he would have the flooring guy call me and I never heard from them again. I ended up going with another company and spent an additional $5000 over what the insurance company paid for another improvements to my basement.

When my house was robbed, the burglar broke the glass in my back door. My insurance company called Belfor for emergency board-up. Response time for the board-up was fantastic. They were there in less than 2 hours and did a solid job of boarding up the broken window in the door. An appraiser from Belfor came out the next morning to appraise the damage and give an estimate, both for my insurance claim and as an estimate if I wanted Belfor to do the work. Both the insurance company and Belfor emphasized several times that I was not obligated to have Belfor do the work. I didn't have anyone else in mind (should have used Angie's List!) so I tried to contact Belfor to do the work after shopping for a new door. I waited too long. In the meantime there were heavy rains causing significant flooding in other areas of town. Belfor was slammed with other work. After that I had a hard time contacting them to schedule my work. I wound up asking the appraiser for a referral for someone else to fix the door. Belfor was great for emergency repair and appraisal, but based on my one experience, I should have shopped around to find another contractor to do the repair work.

It was all covered through my insurance company. We had a pipe that burst in the basement. We ended up ripping everything down ourselves just because a lot of people had their pipes burst. Our neighbor was actually able to help us out with getting that pipe clipped so that we had running water in the house. Other people didn’t even have water running in their house. It took them a while for them to actually come out after we had called because there were lots of people in the area without water. When they were able to come out, we had already even dried the carpet. They were able to just come in and then give us an estimate. The workers were all really great. Everything looked fantastic. It was actually subcontracted to a drywall person. We were thinking about hiring them to finish our garage. There was some communication issue even though we understood that it was a very busy time. We ended up having to go through a couple of different foremen that came out here and told us what was really going on. It was a little bit kind of a mess beginning. I think it was mainly due to everybody being so busy. They are a huge company and they are supposed to be well equipped. They were great on the phone but it was really hard to get somebody to actually come to my house when we had an appointment scheduled. Once they got out here they were very punctual.
Description of Work: Belfor Property Restoration put up drywall and replaced the carpet pad in our basement in February. They then retextured and repainted.

It was an insurance job, so I'm not too sure on the price. I was totally impressed with them. They ripped out the drywall and fixed the eve of the house. The foreman was excellent. The people that did the work were really good. They were very professional about the house, time, and getting it done. I never had to call them. They were always on the money.

I had a flooded basement and hired Belfor to fix the damage. After they finished, they said the basement was dry. I then decided to take up the linoleum tiles and replace them with ceramic tiles. When we pulled the linoleum tiles up, there was moisture under them. Had I not pulled them up, I believe that mold or mildew could have grown there. I paid Belfor in full shortly after the project finished. During a routine check of my credit a few weeks later, however, I saw their name listed on my credit record. They had inquired into my credit, and that inquiry had a negative impact. When I called them, I was told that 1)the negative impact of a credit inquiry is "minor", 2)that I had authorized the inquiry when I authorized them to begin work, and 3)this is their routine business practice. Why would a company have a policy that it knew would negatively impact the credit of all their customers???
