+ -1 moreBarbara was great, and I highly recommend her! I needed housecleaning during recovery from surgery - she was very accomodating in working around my schedule. My house was not only clean, but also tidy. BONUS - the water softener in my basement started leaking while she was there (and I wasn't). She was attentive enough to hear it - she also shut off my water and cleaned up the water mess! I was not home, and would not have been home for hours - her attention saved me potentially thousands of dollars.

+ -1 moreBarbara has been cleaning for us once per month for several years now. She is reliable and punctual. Scheduling has never been a problem, and there have been no cancellations or sick days, or anything like that. Overall we are pleased with the service, quality and ease of our relationship. I would highly recommend Barbara as a professional provider of housecleaning services.
Description of Work: General Housecleaning, vacuum several floors, clean bathrooms, dust in living-room, family room, etc. Special requests are accommodated, i.e. extra dusting or cleaning floors or preparing for guests.

+ -1 moreFor some reason, Barbara and I just couldn't keep things straight on the times and dates for her to come. I would schedule her, repeating the date/time more than once and then put it on my electronic calendar. Then when she didn't show up or showed up late, she would insist that I wrote it down wrong. Additionally, I felt like I was being interviewed rather than the other way around and I also felt I had to work my schedule around her. Who's the employer anyway? I also was concerned that she had no insurance, at least that's the way it sounded. She didn't take credit cards and getting hold of her was nearly impossible. Also, my husband was a bit grossed out when he went downstairs and said that his bathroom smelled like a 'dirty rag'. It was just too frustrating.
Description of Work: I had called Barbara to have her start cleaning my house regularly. I was basically interviewing for a permanent housecleaner that would come every 2 weeks. I did let her know that this was the situation.

Description of Work: she was supposed to clean my house. I left her a note about the things I wanted her to concentrate on. She came in read my note and left. She left me a phone message on my home phone when she knew no one was at home. I gave her my cell phone number twice before and told her that was the number to call me at all times. I called her to ask what happened because I had no idea what had transpired. I expected to come home to a cleaned house. What I got was her explanation that she couldn't do what was on my list. I told her that I didn't expect her to do all of this in one day, I just expected her to do those things over time. She stated that she just could not do the work because it was to much even after I explained that this is what we wanted over time to be accomplished. She stated that she understood that I wanted just maintenance cleaning. I told her when we met that I wanted my home cleaned and that my wife and I wanted to have the things in the home that we did not have time to do. I paid her $95.00 on 1/11/11 and it looked like she only vaccumed, cleaned the bathrooms and dusted about 25% of the furniture. None of the TV's or components and a quick wipe down of some of the kitchen appliances. My estimate was it would have only taken her about an hour and a half at most and she charged me for 4 hours. If any one else hires her your house should be pretty clean already before she starts.

+ -1 moreI feel that the price is very average but they do a great job and always leave me happy! She is on time, does a great job at cleaning, she is very reliable (she even has my house key!), and she always puts everything away after cleaning. I'm very particular with cleaning and she does a great job.

+ -1 moreBarbara is very thorough, organized, and punctual. She was able to schedule us to start weekly housecleaning within a week of our first meeting. She does an outstanding job on the house and she gets along well with our pets--2 dogs and 2 cats. I am so glad we found her and I would recommend her highly to anyone.

She is prompt, reliable and dependable, and she does an excellent and meticulous job cleaning our home every two weeks. + -1 moreBarbara is always reliable, ethical, efficient, and considerate. She does a superb job of cleaning and goes about it systematically and intelligently. She's good-humored and smart. The cats adore her. She has also been a super-reliable house-, plant-, and cat-sitter for me for 9 years.
Description of Work: Monthly cleaning (since 2001) of 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo with lots of books, plants, and knick-knacks; wood and stone floors and area rugs; lots of tile; a kitchen that sees a fair amount of cooking; and 2 long-haired cats.
