From start to finish, Alvaro from Aspen Deck was amazing to work with. We live in a different state, so our home was empty and going up for sale. Since we weren't there to actually meet him we had to do all of our communications over the telephone and email. This could not have gone any smoother. Alvaro was always prompt and always quick to respond when I needed to get in touch with him. He went above and beyond to help it feel like we were "there" by giving us daily updates on progress and sending photographs when requested. He even recommended a carpet cleaner for the water damage on our carpets, and this person worked out perfectly as well. We started out by requesting an estimate, and his was very reasonable - if not the least expensive from the other 2 companies we looked at. Once we hired him he was available to work right away. He was even obliging when we asked him to work with our realtor on what type of finish was best. He was happy and willing to show her samples on the floor before doing the work. Alvaro seemed like a very trustworthy guy - he made the water damage repairs as inexpensive as he could by letting the subfloor dry out instead of just ripping it out and starting over. We also trusted him completely to be in our home and give him the lockbox code to do the work. He is very professional and hard working, I never experienced any hiccups during the process! I just wish every contractor could be this great to work with! I highly, highly recommend his service to anyone, and I will certainly tell our homeowner friends in Denver about him.

Our experience with them was from the begin excellent, we got an estimate of the work to be done with the pro and cons for different alternatives. Our initial idea was to replace only a section of the floor plan, but in the end we decided to the whole floor to have a more consistent environment. Once we decided on them, they provided an schedule of activities and the acquisition of materials begun. Installation was very professional and very amicable. We were on vacation most of the time that they were doing the work. We returned on time to finalize the details of the installation and the replacing of base boards. Very accommodating to our needs and requirements. Very happy with the floor results.

Working with Aspen was a pleasure from start to finish. I rescheduled the job several times, once with very short notice, and Alvaro was gracious and accommodating every time. The crew worked with us to ensure we would be comfortable with the color chosen, even laying sample patches down on our floor so we would know exactly what it would look like. They showed up between 8 and 9 every morning during the work period and were great about communicating with us about when they would be done each day and when we would be able to walk on the floor. They covered all cabinets and doorways to carpeted rooms with plastic to keep the dust out, resulting in very little dust to clean up at the end. They did a beautiful job, all the way to the far corners of our closets. We are thrilled with our gorgeous wood floors that now look brand new, and we were very happy with the price.

I joined Angie's List so that I could search for a reliable and quality company to refinish my 62 year old hardwood floors that had been covered up by carpet for many, many years. I called Alvaro after reading all of the reviews posted by his previous clients. Alvaro gave me a reasonable bid and time frame for the job; I went with him and was glad that I did. His crew was punctual, professional and personable. I would highly recommend his company to anyone that needs their hardwood finished and or repaired.

The whole process went very well and was less stressful than I expected. The guys were professional, polite, and treated our home very carefully.

Alvaro and Aspen Hardwoods did an excellent job on my flooring refinish! looks awesome. they even did an extra coat since the previous coat had some minor dirt/bumps in it. They were prompt and courteous. Highly Recommended!

Because of Mr. Medrano's expertise, we saved a lot of money, not to mention the aggravation of replacing the kitchen floor.

Alvaro was punctual and professional. His estimate was in line with expectations. I did not choose to go with him because another contractor had the ability to do custom contemporary steel stair rails. But the experience was positive, and I would be comfortable using this company in the future.

Wood floors were in bad shape and Aspen Deck & Hardwood Floor Refinishing Inc made them look beautiful! Great communication from the very beginning. They were fast, efficient and informative. Did a wonderful job of cleaning up after themselves as well. I will use them to maintain the floors and will recommend them to other people.

Overall it was a good experience with a good result.

Crew showed up at 8 am worked through the day and finished about 5:30 p.m. We conversed with one of the crew and advised the best way the job could be accomplished to our satisfaction. I will certainly refer this company to anyone in need of this type of service.

Alvaro and his team are great! I called several companies for estimates and although Alvaro's bid came back a bit higher - I needed work done earlier than the other companies could do. I also paid a bit more for them to remove the tack strip/staples for preparation of refinishing. Bid on Monday hired on Tuesday - they began sanding on Wednesday and work was completed by Saturday afternoon we could start moving on SundayU ! The finished product is breathtaking! The timeliness and professionalism of Aspen Hardwoods was exceptional and I wouldn't hesitate to pass their information on. I no doubt will be asked for their info when people see my floors!!

He was originally going to arrive on a Monday. Due to his schedule he was able to start early so we began the project on a Friday. It was important for me to be involved in the beginning due to the possible options of how much of the deck to salvage and what to remove. He wa able to re-use salvaged boards, so the overall look is consistent (the boards are all weathered from the same original build.) The deck is all put together with wood screws. His new endcap was put in with nails. I probably in retrospect would have asked him to re-do and use screws. He did come back after the job was completed and put on some additional stain/finish in a few small areas that were overlooked. Very cooperative, friendly and professional.

Alvaro's team arrived on time every day and worked very hard to complete the job on time. They always checked with us to see if their planned start time worked for us (wasn't too early) and all of the workers were very polite. When the floors were completed, we decided it would be nice to replace the existing baseboards wtih new baseboards, so we asked Alvaro and his team if they could do that job as well. Alvaro scoured the city to find the baseboard style that we liked so that he and his team could install them right away so we could get the house back in order quickly. They took great care also in moving our furniture and removing all of the project "junk". We highly recommend Aspen deck and hardwood for their quality work and professionalism and we will use them again for any similar projects that we have.

Alvarro was recommended to me and I'm really happy with the results. I have an awkwardly shaped living room and his suggestions for how to lay the floor worked out really well. He was timely and professional. The work was done on time and I believe I got a good deal based on the comparisons I've done. I've had the floors for a few months now and even with a dog, they still look brand new. Alvarro gave me good advice about finishes that would hold up best to pets and traffic.

They arrived on time each day. The process went exactly as Alvaro said it would. They made repairs to damaged areas so that I can no longer even find those areas anymore. They cleaned up thoroughly. They returned to move the large piece of furniture. The floors look terrific. There were no surprise expenses. I bought floor finishing services as an Angie"s List Big Deal. I called owner, Alvaro Medrano before purchasing the Deal and found him courteous and responsive. I explained that my floors are not 3/4" hardwood but a floating type floor with veneer over a substrate. He was familiar with those and advised me that they could be refinished twice or perhaps three times but no more. That was consistent with the mfr's information. He came over and inspected the floors, told me how they would proceed and we made an appointment to start. He and his crew arrived on time, moved one large piece of furniture for me, and got right to work. They hung plastic in the doorways and draped the kitchen counters, and using a dust free sander, I wound up with almost no dust from the 3 day process. Alvaro suggested that I have the floors screened and re-coated every 2-3 years to provide protection for the veneer.

Alvaro was very good. He was on time and finished the work as promised. A very good job. Alvaro called back after completion to see if there were any problems. Very professional.

Aspen Deck & Hardwood refinished our old hard wood floors and patched some areas where the wood had deteriorated over the years. They did an excellent job, were very helpful in selecting the best stain color and made sure we were satisfied with the final product. I would highly recommend this company!

Fantastic. This company is dedicated to customer satisfaction. I really needed them to fix up the wood floors since we are trying to sell our house and they went above and beyond. I was a wreck that week getting things ready and they were very professional and patient with me. They returned my emails and phone calls promptly and made sure they came to see our house before giving us the final bid. They didn't promise anything they couldn't deliver, they were budget-minded and the results are breathtaking. Because I'd forgotten to move some of the furniture, they did that for us too. The floors look practically new! Prospective buyers will now really get to see how lovely our floors can be. Thanks Aspen Deck & Hardwood Floor Refinishing. You guys really did an amazing job!

It was messy, but that is the nature of this type of job. The crew did their best to mask off parts of the house that would get sawdusty. They were slightly messy with their trash (left on our front lawn and porch) and when I mentioned I was going to paint the trim myself, seemed to have left that alone completely - it was left quite dirty with stain. I also had to clean some stain splashes off the walls in a few places and off of a door. They were very respectful however and showed up on time each day. I was given a choice of colors to test, and they gave me five stain choices on my floor. I was very happy with the color and the way the floors came out. The floor is beautiful and the price was right. I would hire them again - would just ask them to pay a little more attention to the cleanliness.

We did not choose to use this company to refinish the floors but the were very professional and the bid was delivered promptly.

A few hours after purchasing the Big Deal Coupon, I was sent a friendly email from one of the owners of the company letting me know he was open to schedule appointments. After we worked out a time, Alvaro came over and measured out my kitchen, and emailed me a quote a couple days later. After a brief discussion about it, we scheduled a time for the work to be done a couple days later. Alvaro and an employee of his arrived early and on time, and started right away sanding the floor. Much like their attitude, the tools they used were professional, catching all the dust and debris caused by the sander. By the time they left, the floor was completely stripped, and covered by the first layer of sealant/finish. The next day, Alvaro's father and co-owner and another employee arrived to finish the last couple coats and any other finishing touches. They were finished by late morning, and I had a beautiful, finished hardwood kitchen floor by late afternoon.
