If you are looking for "close enough", then this is the place for you. Our experience started good with the kitchen and bath design and cabinet installation. Although our cabinet installation was not put not on the schedule and was pushed back a week, we were pleased with the installation of the cabinets in the end. Now to the quartz countertops... Installed on July 25th, we noted several issues including two slices cut into our kitchen wall, permanent marks on the quartz from the cut wall, two areas where the counter was not cut in line with the wall and gaps filled in with caulking, the reveal cut for the bath sink was not centered to the sink, and interior cabinet scratched up from installing the bath sink. We contacted the company immediately regarding our issues and after several discussions with various people that got us nowhere, we started discussions with the company's sales manager. We offered to have him come to our house to see the issues, which he declined. On August 2nd, we sent the manager documentation of all our dealings with the company and photos of the issues. We advised him that we were going on vacation for a week and expected resolution by then. We contacted him upon return and no resolution was made. We again offered him to come to the house and he did come on the 18th. He agreed the walls should not have been sliced. We also mentioned how unresponsive he had been to our issues and he stated that he's been very busy. The company's contract states that, "If you have purchased a measure and installation from us, we will make sure that the items above do not become a problem. Our highly trained staff has the experience necessary to make these crucial measurements and we will accept sole responsibility for mistakes if you have purchase these services". We also noted that the contract counter design included two seams and they changed the design in production to one seam. The manager stated that our salesperson was supposed to contact us about this change, but never did. The manager offered to remove the kitchen counter so WE could repair the sliced wall and would correct the bathroom sink reveal, but we were at an impasse with the remaining issues. As such, on August 26th, we told the company we wanted money refunded to repair the sliced walls and price paid for installation along with them correcting the bath sink reveal and applying skins to cover the scratched cabinet. We stated that "we consider this request to be a compromise based on your company's refusal to do a complete reinstall of a new piece of quartz, we continue to be extremely dissatisfied with the product and service your company has provided." The company agreed to our request. They came to remove the bath counter on September 6th and reinstall on the 9th. We determined in the dry fit that the reveal was not cut back enough to center the sink so we sent the counter back with the installers. The manager then advised that the cut was "close enough" and "within industry standards" and that we would be charged for the installers to return to install the bath counter. We do not accept this and again we are at an impasse with the company as we will not accept the counter with an incorrect sink reveal. We have already compromised enough with this company. The issues are endless and it's now been nearly three months of frustration as we have been expected to pay good money, yet accept "close enough".

Ute is a great designer. She helped me with colors and different designs. She made drawings that I could actually see the product. I called the company because I needed a part for Mastercraft cabinetry. All other companies did not want to bother but Clarence went the extra mile and found the part. I went out to their main showroom on Logan and was quite impressed with the showroom. It just so happened that I was in the market for a new kitchen so now I have Clarence working on a bid. He has had 30 years experience in the business and could see solutions to my project I could never have seen. They are opening a third showroom on Colorado and Alameda in the Cherry Creek area in about a month.

The person that did our cabinet design was very professional and she took good care of us. It was just towards the end, they had to come back couple of times to fix things.

11/13/2013 Ordered cabinets with Clay Bernard and paid cash 11/20/2013 Clay let me know that the cabinets leave the factory on the 22nd of November. I emailed him back asking if the install could be the week of Thanksgiving. (no response) 12/09/2013 Called Clay to see what is going on. He transferred me to the scheduling dept (which had no idea where my order was). Was told I would get a call back. (didn?t happen) 12/12/2013 After not hearing anything I finally showed up at the business. Talked to Junior in person. He said he could install the cabinets on 12/18. Never got a call or anything and no one showed up. 12/19/2013 Junior said he would call me tomorrow 12/20 about the install date. (no call) 12/31/2013 I text Junior to try and figure out the issue. He tells me they will be delivered and installed on Thursday the 2nd. 1/2/2014 Cabinets actually show up. The first time The Top shop followed through with anything they said. Also Coy(installer) shows up to install the cabinets. There was a problem with the counter board that Clay order. Coy calls Clay and then Clay calls me. Clay give me two options. 1) Order a new board that is the right size. 2) I buy the tile and the Top Shop installs. I choose option #2 1/6/2014 I buy the tile and the installer calls me. No warning and shows up at my house. I tell him I will leave work and meet him at my house. Tile installer runs into problem. Shelf won?t fit with tile. I call Clay to inform him. Coy told me it would fit so I call Coy to verify. He tells me that he will show up tomorrow at 4pm, 1/7. 1/7/2014 Coy didn?t show up. I call and leave a voicemail. 1/8/2014 I leave another voicemail for Coy. 1/10/2014 Voicemail for Clay. I stopped recorded for about 2 weeks because it is so ridiculous. 1/21/2014 I stop in the showroom and see Clay. He tells me he is working on it. Coy supposed to be here Friday after 4pm. Coy calls me and wants to set up a time and leaves a vm for me. I immediately call back and leave a voicemail. I call again at 3:45 and leave another vm. I then call Clay and he said he?ll call Coy. Coy calls me and claims he didn?t get any calls or voicemails from me. Coy comes by pulls the carpet and re-sets the cabinets. Straight this time. 1/24/2014 I email, call and text Clay letting him know that I want the wrapped up by the end of next week. 1/28/2014 Finally the tile guys show up. Tile is set and the tile guy asked me if I had grout??? What is that about? I told him that I didn?t have grout and he also said he didn?t have sealer? He said he would come back at 8am the next morning to grout it. Then he will have to come back to seal it. 1/30/2014 I call Clay letting him know I want it wrapped up by tomorrow. Left him a voicemail and no call back.
Description of Work: American cabinets was hired to install two base cabinets and two book shelves that I purchased from them in early November. The job is still not complete and has been a disaster. I feel like a project manager. Even phone calls to the manager and owner. I kept a log of what happened throughout the process and it is as detailed as possible. Overall I am very disappointed with the service that I have been given and would not recommend their products or services to anyone.

11/20/2013--Clay spoke with customer and stated that this would most likely NOT be possible due to delivery lead times. While the product left the factory on November 22nd, there is still shipping time that must be accounted for. We did not receive the product until after Thanksgiving. 12/09/2013 Clay was correct to send you to the scheduling department as that is not his department once the work order is sent over. Scheduling handles only the scheduling of the installation so they would not know where the order was, that is handled by our ordering department. 12/12/2013 Our apologies on not getting back to the customer on these two occasions. They should have received a call back. 12/19/2013 Our apologies on not getting back to the customer on this occasion. They should have received a call back. 1/2/2014 -This was Clay's mistake on ordering the wrong depth countertop, but the customer also stated that they did not like the look once it arrived. In order to resolve his mistake and the customer's lack of enthusiasm for the material, Clay offered the customer 2 options stated above and to leave the current top in place until the new material arrives or the customer goes out to purchase his own tile, whichever the customer wants. The customer chooses to buy their own tile. By allowing him to switch to tile and be satisfied with the overall look of his project, we provided him tile countertop installation in lieu of the original wooden countertop he selected. The installation of a tile countertop is MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE because the process is more involved, but due to our error we wanted to give the customer something extra to make up for it and ensure they liked the overall look of their project. 1/6/2014 Clay was out of town on this day but spoke with the customer on 01/02/14. In their conversation the customer stated that they would be home from 3-6PM on 01/06/2014. Clay instructed the installer to be there in that window. Our installation crews cannot arrive on an exact time due to the nature of installation projects but they arrived in that window. 1/7/2014 - This is unacceptable from our installers and the matter was addressed with the installer. 1/10/2014 - Clay was out of town until Jan 12th. Inquiries should have been directed to our scheduling department, this is not Clay's department. 1/21/2014 - When the customer decided to switch to a tile countertop they became responsible for all of the needed materials. Clay talked to the customer about grout color choices that they will need to pick out. We cannot provide the grout b/c everyone's color preference will be different. We had no idea what tile the customer was going to pick out, therefore it would be impossible for us to correctly guess a grout color. We DO provide the adhesive needed to set the tile but the grout is an individual's choice. Lots of tile does not require a sealer and b/c we had no idea what tile the customer chose, we could not assume they needed sealer. When we sell a standard tile countertop installation sealer is NOT included as part of the job. If the product the customer chooses requires sealer that is an additional charge. In order to satisfy the customer completely and compensate them for our mistakes, we sealed the tile and did NOT charge him anything additional. 1/30/2014 Overall, there were some communication breakdowns and an order error on our part that led to this project not going as smoothly as we normally perform. We apologize to the customer for their experience, but feel we did everything we could along to the way to compensate them for their inconveniences and ensure they were completely satisfied with their project upon completion. Clay is one of the top designers in Colorado and a back to back Houzz winner for customer satisfaction (2013 & 2014).

He did absolutely phenomal job. He is very protective of his floors. He moved the furniture, put a filler in it, sanded the floor, and then came back and put a finish on it. He then moved the furniture back. I would use him again and recommend him to anybody. It's gorgeous.
