I want to warn others of the business practices of ABC Window Tinting and its owner. For background, I’ve had three cars tinted at ABC and I haven't had any issues in the past and we were happy with the results – until now. I recently took my newly purchased car to ABC to have all the windows tinted. On my way to work the next morning after having the car tinted, I noticed that the film on the two back-wing windows was not fitted properly (there were gaps between the window seal and the tint letting sunlight through which made it look like it was applied by someone at home), and the front side window had two sizeable scratches – it was dark and they were closing and the windows were very filthy from the tinting so I didn’t immediately notice the scratches or the ill-fitting back-wing tint until the next morning in the sunlight. I took the car back to ABC when I was able to get back over there a few days later (one extra round trip to the shop) and Bob reviewed the window/scratches and got approval from the owner Mr. Lopez to redo the window, etc. but they couldn't do it that day and he asked if I would call and make an appointment when convenient. I called later on and set up an appointment with them to bring it in on the weekend. My appointment was for 2:30p, I dropped it off at 1:30p (second trip over) and it was the owner Freddie Lopez who was working and he told me the car would be done within 2 hours or so. Additionally, he mentioned to me that he had to fire the person who did my auto tint as his work was sub-par and he (Freddie) had to re-do some of his work. My wife followed me over and gave me a ride back to our house so we could continue with our bathroom remodel work. Later in the day I tried calling ABC but nobody answered and I knew they closed by 6pm - so we stopped our remodel process and my wife took me back over at 5:30p (third round trip over). Mr. Lopez was there and told me that he didn't have a chance to get to my car as he had an appointment to do another car that afternoon that the shop forgot to write down in the schedule book, and he would re-do my film after he finished the ‘forgotten’ appointment (funny, I talked to Connie the nice admin assistant late Friday afternoon when making the appointment and she verified that there were no appointments tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon and to bring the car at 2:30p when staff will be finishing up the last appointment - anyway, he said he would call me when my car was ready that evening. I’m assuming he got a drop-in paying customer and he was going to take care of them before fixing my issues. So back to the house we go… Now, 7:40p rolls around and we get a voice message from Mr. Lopez stating that my car is finished and ready and he put the keys under my mat and locked the car. We stop what we’re doing and my wife takes me back over there AGAIN (fourth round trip) to get the car. The car was moved from one side of the parking lot to the other which means he obviously drove my car... I get in the car and check the side window that had the two large scratches and a small ding mark in the corner - the scratches are still there and the film was never removed/replaced! So Mr. Lopez lied to me that he ‘fixed’ it! He apparently had no intention of correcting the poor work his fired tint person did. I called the next day and expressed my displeasure with Connie and let her know what happened and she in turn discussed it with Mr. Lopez. Connie called me back and told me that Mr. Lopez stated to her that he looked at the window/tint and there was nothing wrong with it – funny, the scratches were quite obvious when I brought the car back in for them to look at right after the initial tint job…and why would he tell me my car was finished, rather than ask me, "I couldn't find any issue with the tint, could you point them out to me..." I then asked again to have the initial scratched window and back-wings redone properly and Connie mentioned that she would need to get approval from Mr. Lopez. I never received a call back and Mr. Lopez didn’t even have the decency to discuss the situation with me personally. I’ll be taking my car to another tint shop to correct the issues ABC wouldn't fix. Be aware, your tint job is only as good as the person doing the tint regardless of the ratings and the ranking of the shop. If something goes wrong with the tint, or the job was done poorly, or you need warranty work done, you need to take it to a reputable shop that will gladly fix and stand behind their work and certainly not mislead or lie to the customer. You may be next... Caveat Emptor

Easy to get an appointment. Professional, job was completed on time. Several issues with quality. Distortion could be seen in most windows. Back tailgate glass was the worst. They replaced immediately at no charge and without question. I've never had aftermarket tint done before, but for the price, I expected it to be perfect. It is far from it. Plenty of little imperfections, but again, this may just be standard for having tint installed. Their warranty is outstanding, and they are very courteous in dealing with any problems.

ABC tinted the windows, let me choose the tint and got the job done in the amount of time that they promised. The tint looked great, and have had no issues with peeling or bubbling.
Description of Work: Had the windows tinted on an Audi A6 as a Christmas gift for my husband and I was pleased.
