When he came by, we told him there was a roof leak that the prior owners concealed. Purchased home October 2012. He told us that the work he completed just prior to the sale was on the back of the house. We knew this, but we informed him we were well aware of the transferable warranty for the complete roof project done back in 2004. The 2004 roof job resulted in severe ice build up of nearly 4-5 inches think and 12 x 12 inches across where the roof lines meet resulting in rotting wood fascia which he said he would not replace. He blamed the debris in the gutters pulling out two handfuls of small leaves; however, immediately afterwards we went up and there were no more to remove. There were several items found to be wrong with the roof by 12 other area roofers. All of which agreed. Additionally, the area identified as the primary leak was the dryer vent which should have been replaced; this was quickly identifiable because we had opened up the ceiling in the house where the leak was; however, he did not investigate. He made several excuses, but in the end the roof was repaired by a professional company for $1200 and the true story was told. When the roof was repaired pancakes of ice were removed from the valley underneath the shingles...this should never happen and the dryer vent was no longer water tight. And yet Zede found no area of concern that required repair.
