The price I was quoted originally was 3713.75. The quote was very confusing because it also included a quote for 587.50 for my neighbor's sod. It said that was not included in the bottom. I sent an email to the provider as follows: OK so the total for all the sod is for me is 568.75 and just the patio is 3145.00? I guess with the price of the flagstone we saw that seems very high. I think we have to pass on it. Further exchange occurred, and then I sent this: So the actual total is 3713.75 plus the 587.50 for the sod which is 4301.25 . Are you sure? This is almost triple the other estimate we got to prep and lay sod and install the patio. Are these the correct numbers? The provider responded: No, your total cost is the $3145.00, the breakout in the body of the estimate was put there so that you could see your cost for the sod and Daniels cost for the sod nothing more. So I hired him to do the job. He had built a beautiful retaining wall for us in March. He also did our front yard last summer and did a nice job. (He has made about $7000.00 off me in the last year) He came out and installed the patio with his crew. He told us the breeze in between the flagstones would sink and they would fill that in. The sod was not done. Payment is required 1/3 down, 1/3 when when material arrives and the final when complete. The sod was supposed to cost me 568.75 and based on the quote t my total cost as he confirmed about was 3145.00. Right before he walked aout the door with the last check I wrote him for almost half the cost of the sod, he said the amount of the job was the 3713.75 amount. I opened my email and showed him the email wherein he told me that was not the correct figure and my total cost was 3145. He said that was his mistake and he would honor it. He said it was his mistake. I have never heard from him again. I no longer care that he apparently does not want to complete his work but it is stealing to take someone's money and not give it back if you decide not to do the job. I want my money back for the incomplete work and the $223.75 for the sod that I have already paid for. I also purchased $100.00 work of sprinkler parts (in addition to the $2800.00 for a total of $2900.00) that do not work. Of course, since he will not respond by email, hone or text, I cannot return those. I have all the emails and the quote.
Description of Work: The provider was hired to lay a flagstone patio and put dirt/manure and sod in my yard, leveling the yard, and some other items.

I am happy with the work done on the fence and rock overall. It is the professionalism of the company that I have issues with. After agreeing to have the work done we scheduled a day to meet at 4 pm at my house. I was scheduled to meet some friends for a dinner at 5, however Steve was an hour and a half late. We then scheduled the work for a Monday. In the contract it did state that there would be an extra charge if dog waste was found in the yard, so on Sunday night I cleaned out the back yard. On Monday morning while I am heading into work i get a call from Steve saying that he cannot get to my place today and asked if he could reschedule for Friday, and I agree. That Friday they show up and complete half the job. My first big issue is he told me that I was going to be charged for the dog waste in the yard. I told him that they yard was ready for his originally scheduled day, and with work and school I did not have time to clear it out, but he still charged me over $200.00. I then go look in the back yard and my fence is tore down, which means I cannot let my dogs outside. He tells me that he forgot about the dogs, which i find ironic since he just charged me for them, and that he will get it done Monday. After talking he finally agrees come the next day and finish the fence. He did show up that Saturaday and finished the job in its entirety, however he still charged me for the dog waste. After bending to his schedule multiple times I found really frustrating that he banked in an extra $200.00 on me for something that wouldn't have been an issue had he made his times. As I said, the work itself is solid and I am happy with it, however I will be going to someone else to finish up the rest of my yard.

Response from Vision Landscapes, LLC
I find this review very disturbing in that [Member Name] was called on the day of our 4:00 pm appointment and given the opportunity to reschedule, as we were in the area (about 10 minutes away) he choose not to reschedule. We WERE NOT 1-1/2 hrs. late I would never have expected him to wait anywhere near that length of time. And who is going to wait dinner at a restaurant or club 1-1/2 hrs for someone to show? Secondly, It is a health issue concerning the animal waste and by no means was it a small amount. When we arrived that Friday I did go to the door to talk to[Member Name] concerning the issue, he was not there. I wanted to give him the opportunity to save that cost after waiting approx 45 minutes I had the crew clean the wast. He later arrived and took his dogs for a walk and later placed them in the dog run in his backyard. Mind you this was no small amount of animal waste. The reason there is a contingency in our contracts is due to health issues for me and my crew additionally, if one has ever had to deal with any animal born diseases or syndromes, they will understand it is no small matter. Third, as the weather was the reason for our rescheduling from Monday to Friday, this time of year our whole schedule is in flux. We got there that Friday as agreed upon and found that we would have to complete the work the following day. [Member Name] misrepresents himself in that he does have a dog run in his backyard (as I stated earlier) in which he placed his dogs while we were there. The dogs became to aggressive and he then took them in. To use the excuse that he could not let his dogs outside is completely false. The excuse that I cleaned in SUNDAY NIGHT does not excuse 4 days of waste much less the waste that had never been cleaned from 2 medium sized dogs and the wast that remained from his cleaning, which was minimal at best. Again, he has a dog run, why did he not place them in the run to do their business until the work was completed? This sounds much like my daughters excuses when they were young, when told to clean there room on a Friday, "well I cleaned it Monday", it's just that its an excuse. The Contract states specifically that the charge will be added to the final payment due. [Member Name] could have saved himself the charge had he been diligent and cleaned up after his animals until the work was completed. [Member Name]knows the contents of his contract, he knew the charges up front. At the end of the project when we were standing on his front porch, he was informed that the charges were being added to his final payment he had ample opportunity to discuss the charges. At that point he could have refused to pay or discuss the issues up front. I find it very disturbing that this man would not and has not talked to me in person he has not disputed one point of his contract. Yet he has gone to every referral site and has slandered my company and myself.
