I used Thomas Ferrell of "Custom Creations", who claimed to be a General Contractor, to install my wood floors, which I purchased from another source. The main mode of communication I used for coming to an agreement for services was email, phone and texting, and unfortunately did not get anything from him signed in writing (MY MISTAKE, for sure, but a sign of his LACK of professionalism). During the installation process, my baseboards were handled with NO care, and replaced with less. I have tried to repair them on my own, but they will likely have to be replaced. He did not complete the installation in the time stated. His behavior while in my home was unprofessional. He was inappropriate with my childcare provider to the point that she refused to work if he was going to be in my home. Several weeks after the poor installation (at installation the specific issues were gaps at walls and doorways, damage to boards, and the ruined baseboards), we began to notice a separation between the floor boards, as if they were shrinking. We contacted the company that we purchased the wood from, and they sent out an independent certified inspector to inspect the floors. He came to the conclusion that the wood was installed at an inappropriate humidity (significantly different from our home), and that this could have been easily identified by the installer, and installation SHOULD have been delayed. He also found that the nailing of the boards was not within "industry standards". I have tried to address these issues with Mr. Ferrell via email and phone, and have received NO response. For all of the above stated reasons, I would NOT use this contractor, as he does poor work and is a crook.
