They came out spent about 10 minutes looking around and placed a bid of 1600 dollars. There was no stipulation of time nor how many people would be working, just that all the mistletoe and dead limbs would be removed from all the trees on the property. We have a 2.5 acre lot which I made clear, and most of the trees do not have an issue. I told the person who bid Trevor if he had questions my mother was home. He did not ask where our property extended to, there are property stakes clearly visible. Their company is very familiar with our neighborhood and all the lots are 2.5 acres and up. Anyway they did half the job, left huge piles of limbs everywhere. They are telling me I am being unreasonable and that they did all the work they are going to. They want to be paid in full for a crap job. I have been insulted by their employees "boss man" " unreasonable" and I would never recommend them. Also of note the work crew told my mother when they showed up that they would be done in around 4 hours. Which tells me that Trevor only looked at the trees in the front of the house. All these trees are healthy and they did not cut 1 limb in the front. The front area is also about half the lot and I feel he thought this would be a quick easy 1600 dollars. In fact I think he threw in the dead branch removal to make it look like we got something for our money. In the end there are probably 50 heavily infected trees near the property line, that I did not know about till I was shown by the work crew. It is not my fault they did not spend more time on their bid. However I expect them to honor it, I would and I have honored bad bids on my part. Sometimes you win and the job goes much easier than you expect. Other times you mess up but you have to honor your bid regardless. Honestly had I gotten a bid for 4-5000 I would have bought a chainsaw and cut the infected trees down myself. I hired experts to try and save my trees as it is they have delayed treatment and allowed the mistletoe to go to seed and infect more trees.

The work went very well. Tall Timbers delivered service above my expectations. I will rehire them for any future needs.

Went very well!! Crew was great, but when truck was full and there were some trees still needing to be taken care of, crew was ready to pack up and head home until we told them to broadcast the chippings and keep going. ;)

We have used other tree services in the past with ok results. This time we researched a little more and received 3 quotes. The price was in line with the other companies. Tall Timbers was differentiated because of their ISA certified Arborists and the Angie's List reviews. The crew arrived with all needed equipment and went right to work after verifying with me what my expectations were. They chipped the branches as they went and completed a final cleanup at the end. The crew was courteous and professional. The tree was well trimmed. We will use them again.

Dave Carpenter with Tall Timbers is the best! The company was extremely busy, but managed to meet my needs in a timely fashion.There were 2 separate days the crews were at my home removing all but the cottonwood the 1st day, and the cottonwood on another day. They then came back to grind the stump on another day. All of the crews were professional and fabulous! After the final work was done, you would never have known they were there, (or that I ever had any trees in my yard). They also removed a couple of trees that had fallen previously for no charge. I had wanted to save a slice from the cottonwood, and they were very accommodating and salvaged a large piece of the trunk for me, as well as a smaller log.

Arrived on time for estimate. Very polite and professional. Explained the problem with the carpenter ants in the tree in question and set a date for service during the next week. The day before service, I received a phone call telling me the approximate time they would arrive the next day. They arrived at the stated time and performed the spraying service. It is so refreshing to work with a provider who does exactly what they say they will do!

We were pleased that they did what we wanted. They cleared what we wanted cleared. They took all the stuff away except some of the big logs we saved for our son for his fireplace. They were very good. The price didn't bother me because we used to cut our own trees. I thought their professionalism was very good. We would not hesitate to use them again.

They were very prompt in responding to our phone message regarding need to remove tree. They set up a time and date with us and made a call back to remind us of the appointment. The only B on the review comes from the date of service. The time was scheduled for 12 noon. There was no call to let us know they would be late. They had an emergency call out that caused the lateness, but it would have been nice to have been notified instead of having to call and find out why they were not there. The receptionist was very friendly and professional and made the calls necessary to inform me of the reason for the delay. When the workers arrived they were professional, courteous, and their work was extremely well done from start to finish. They cleaned up the area well. For the work done I believe the price was extremely reasonable! The tree was cut down with precision, branches mulched on site, and area completely cleaned of debris. I will definitely use them in the future!

The reason I used these guys is they noticed some trees that had been hit by pine beatles. Their chief arborist was able to determine which trees really needed to be taken down (some of them had been hit the year before and didn't need to be removed). He felt confident about his opinion and I was happy I would not need to unnecessarily remove trees. They also did their best to cut the logs to my specifications and removed all limbs and brush. I'd recommend them.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Tall Timbers Tree and Shrub Service, Inc. on our property in Colorado Springs, CO. Our first contact was with Dave, who listened attentively to our request that the company cut down the trees and grind the stumps, and that we wanted to cut up the majority of the wood into firewood ourselves. Dave provided us with a very reasonable bid, which we accepted. We set a date for beginning the job for June 13, 2013, and the workmen were to arrive at 7:00 a.m. June 13th arrived, 7:00 a.m. arrived, but no workmen. At about 7:15, Dave called to let us know that they were having to finish up another project, and that they would arrive at about 11:00 a.m. (Turns out that the other project was concerning the Black Forest Fire, just outside of Colorado Springs! We have no problem with that!) They arrived at 11:00 a.m., headed up by Phil, and started to work. And they worked hard and fast, in a very organized manner. Everyone was on task, knew what they needed to be doing. Nearly all of the trees were down that same afternoon. Three of the largest and most difficult trees needed a bucket truck, which was not to be available until the following Monday, due to mechanical problems. That gave us homeowners time to saw up the trees already down-- no small task! They returned Monday, took down the remaining three LARGE trees (the cottonwood tree in the front yard had a 5-foot diameter trunk!!), and told us to let them know when we were ready for the stump grinding. We had all the stumps exposed and firewood out of the way for them to come in on Tuesday, June 25th to grind down the stumps. The company sent Alberto Rodia to take care of that task, which he did efficiently, thoroughly, and with humor. Overall, Tall Timbers fielded an effective, polite, friendly, hard-working crew to service our contract. We are VERY pleased with our experience with this company, and have already recommended them to some of our neighbors. My lot is straight uphill and they had to cut the trees down and hand remove them. They come out and do a great job. They clean up everything really well.

I was so thoroughly impressed with this company. They did a fabulous job. I purchased a new property in Colorado with acreage. The property had aspen and pine trees, many in excess of 35 feet tall. My insurance company gave me 30 days from purchase date to complete fire mitigation around the property. If not done to the standards of an independent reviewer, my property insurance would be dropped. I got estimates from 5 companies. Tall Timbers was not the cheapest, but the estimator gave me the most confidence in their ability to do a superior job. The estimator, Dave, has formal education in tree service and was very good at helping me to understand the work that was required. They were able to schedule me within the insurance company's time frame. The crew that arrived was all about getting the work done. Each worker was professional and clearly skilled. They took down four 30 foot aspen trees that were within 10 feet of the front of my house. They were careful to keep the falling debris off of the flagstone below the trees. They also removed six aspen trees in the middle of my circular driveway without harming the driveway. Then they removed over 100 smaller pines around the garage, many of which were actually leaning against the building. They moved efficiently around the property, each man working independently under the orders of the foreman named Phil. They cleaned up completely at each location, and removed all slash and tree wood that I did not want. I cannot say enough about how totally pleased I was with their work. As I said earlier, Tall Timbers was not the cheapest company that I interviewed, but they were well worth the money that I paid. The independent reviewer sent by my insurance company passed the work with flying colors. I recommend this company so highly. I give them 11 out of 10. Please hire them if you want your tree service done correctly.

It only took 11/2 hours with complete equipment and man power.

I have used this company in the past with good results, however, this time has been abysmal. They would not come out to do the estimate on a day when I could be home to discuss the work. Allie, who completed the estimate, included the cost to trim my neighbor's tree on my estimate, which made no sense to me. The estimate had 4 different figures on it, which was confusing. When I called to question this, I never did receive an an adequate response: just a generic voice message. I left a message 4 days ago saying that I do not want them to trim my trees and I received a voice message a couple days later from Alexandra saying" This is Tall Timbers Tree and shrub Service. I was just returning your call about the work that is scheduled. If you have any other questions, just give me a call back at...." I then sent them an email on August 4th to let them know that I do not want to use their company and have not received a reply. I am going to be very upset if they show up and trim my trees when I am not home and then bill me for the work.

They are very easy to work with and they've been doing it a long time. They did exactly what they said they would do and they did it quickly without making a mess.

Great job. I wasn't sure from the first phone call with office. They didn't have any openings and there were no Angie's List discount.

They came and sprayed the tree when they were supposed to. They did the job and the trees came back well the next year. They accomplished what they needed to.

The company's communication was excellent. They arrived when they said they would with a substantial crew and a full range of equipment. They were very careful in all tasks that involved safety issues, and other tasks, such as clean-up, were handled quickly. The supervisor explained everything well. The tree and stump were removed with a crane, which required lifting them over the house. Everything went smoothly, and no further damage (beyond what the tree had done) was done to the house or yard. They left us some firewood we asked for and recycled and hauled away the rest of the tree. They cleaned up both the roof and the yard very well. Their price for everything was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend this company.

They did it in a timely manner and they did a good job. The treated my tendant and neighbor well. They did a bit of damage on the fence but they repaired it satisfactory. Since I was out of state and they were doing the job, I was pleased with how they completed the job overall.

Tall Timbers was very prompt and friendly in returning m;y call. They were unable to come at the promised time because of the weather and communicated promptly about a future date. We were not present when the work was done but they were very good at doing exactly what was asked. They communicated often during the work. We were very pleased.
