Chris and his crew showed up on time and went back over what they were going to do and they proceeded to get to work. They did their job efficiently and cleanly. After walking around the house you couldn't even tell that that they had been there. If I ever need another house insulated. I would hire them again.

Description of Work: Installed foam in the walls. After they left, I found a few little discs they had cut out of the walls to do the installation. And one of the spaces they filled between joists was actually an unmarked cold air return. (I blame my husband for that, so I didn't complain to Retro Foam.)

I contacted Retrofoam for an estimate to have their injected insulation put into the exterior walls of my home. My home is 22 years old and has some colder rooms that could use some additional insulation. I called for my free estimate and the representative from the company arrived on time at my home. We started in the garage where he began by telling my that he also worked for another insulation company (EcoFoam) and that if I was interested in having spray foam added to my garage that he could also provide that estimate. After about 30 minutes of both indoor and outdoor inspection of my home, the representative began to process my estimate. After a lengthy amount of time fumbling about with the "math" of the estimate, several trips back to the garage and outside to get "another view", my estimate was provided to me. I was presented with an estimate of just shy of $7,000. The $7,000 estimate was provided to me along with a way to finance the job through a third party finance company, an explanation of a $200 rebate offered through my local utility company, and promise of a $700 / 10% Federal tax rebate. I thanked him for his time and began the process of reviewing Retrofoam online and with other Angie's list members. After confirming with my local utility that there was indeed a $200 rebate, I spoke to my accountant to get more information regarding the 10% Federal tax rebate. I found out that the Federal tax rebate is no longer effective for 2015, and if I was to apply 2014 rules for the 10% tax rebate, it still has a $500 lifetime maximum refund. Due to the fact that I had air sealing and additional blown-in insulation done in my attic the previous year, I no longer had any refunds available to me. As the consumer, if these rebates are being offered and suggested by the company doing the work, they should be up to speed on local, state, and federal information and be upfront with this information. had I not been diligent in my research, I would have been expecting back $700. I was also surprised at how much higher my estimate was compared to other reviewing of this company. Thankfully, I am very detailed in my research and thus why I am a member of Angie's list. I contacted the company to provide this feedback on my experience and my findings through my research. I asked for a second opinion on my estimate as I had some doubts about the person who completed the estimate. I spoke with the office manager / wife of the owner and was told that she would pass this along and have the owner contact me. Today is day 11 since that promise was made and I have still yer to receive a call or any contact from the owner. Overall, I still feel that this product can help with my situation and I am still interested, unfortunately this company is the only option in town to do this sort of work.

I do not feel that this product has provided any additional warmth to my townhome. What upsets me the most is the damage caused to much of the siding they had to remove to insert the insulation. Before they were getting ready to leave I pointed out to Chris, the owner that some touch-ups needed to be made which he did, but the poor quality of work is still very obvious to me. However, Chris and his crew were very professional and friendly.

CHRIS AND HIS CREW INSULATED MY WHOLE HOUSE WHICH IS A 1500 SQUARE FOOT RANGER. THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. HOWEVER THEY WENT THE 'EXTRA' MILE AND INSULATED OUR NEW ADDITION WE HAD MADE , WHEN WE ENCLOSED OUR PORCH. CHARGED US NOTHING EXTRA BUT DID THE EXTRA WORK. ALSO THE COMPANY BLEW IN INSULATION INTO OUR ATTIC AND WE WERE SO PLEASED. HIS DAUGHTER WAS HELPING AND WE COULD NOT HAVE HAD A BETTER COMPANY TO DO THE JOB. WE HAD AN IMMEDIATE DROP IN OUR UTILITY BILL. THE CREW WAS PLEASENT , DID WHAT THEY SAID. THE WALLS WERE DONE IN ONE DAY. THE ATTIC INSULATION WAS DONE THE NEXT DAY. EVERYTHING WAS DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION AND THE PEOPLE CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES, DID NOT LEAVE ANY MATERIAL LAYING AROUND. WE WILL HIRE THEM AGAIN IF THE NEED ARISES. WE RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY HIGHLY . THANK YOU CHRIS AND CREW. SORRY THIS REVIEW IS SOMEWHAT LATE.

I have a 50-year-old brick home with uninsulated walls and high utility bills have always been a concern. Since I have a lot of wallpapered interior walls, I wanted to avoid the old method of drilling a large hole that would have to be patched from the inside. The Retrofoam system sounded like the best solution. The team arrived on the job site promptly, went right to work drilling out access holes in the existing brick walls. Holes were small enough to not affect the bricks just the mortar. The foam was then injected it each hole then plugged and patched. Each patch matched my mortar color exactly and is practically invisible. Afterwards the cleanup was neat and professional. I think my house is now fully prepared for any future cold seasons. This is a good company with a great product.

During our kitchen remodel, our contractor informed us that we had zero insulation and suggested we call RetroFoam. They sent out an estimator the very next day. Within a week, Chris and his (very clean cut) crew, showed up on time, in a nasty snowstorm and within three hours, we had badly needed insulation in our kitchen and bedroom. Our house is old, 1941, with masonry construction, so the foam worked great! We will definitely use Chris again for the remainder of the house, once we finish with our remodel. Chris sent us the forms for a utility rebate, which offset some of the price. Very professional, respectful of our property and explained the process to us in great detail. Already saving on utility costs and helps with sound insulation, as we live on a busy street. Thanks Chris! You operate in a way business should be; putting the customer first!

Super. Chris and his crew were very professional. They were on time as agreeded upon prior to doing the job. Work was accomplished as Chris had explained prior to staring job. Job site was left clean and no trace of his crew ever being around the exterior of the home. As the owner/boss Chris worked along side his crew insuring all task were completed per his explanation of the processes. Highly recommended to other home owners. We already see results from the retro foam applicaiton. Worth the money. Satisfied customer.

The original estimate had to be adjusted and it went up $900! The estimator was apologetic and explained how he had left out the garage but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Although I did not sign the bid RetroFoam scheduled the service and called the day before they planned on deliverying the service. Because I had a personal endorsement from a colleague and a great rating from Angie's List I did decide to use. I did finance the job through a lending company interest free that RetroFoam did business with. The quality of the completed job was solid and the owner with a small crew completed the job in one day and the clean up was excellent. Although I would consider them in the future the cost was high and I would be more cautious in the sales part of the transaction.

The job went very well. Chris (the owner) and 3 other men in his crew came to our house March 18 to pump in the insulation to our house. Depending on the structure of the house, depends how they do the insulation. We live in the older part of town. Our house was built in 1918. We have the old cedar shake shingles. They have to remove a strip of shingles to make the hole in your house to put in the hose that pumps in the foam. The shingles were neatly put back in place. They completed the job within about 5 hours. We were pleased with how neat they were and courteous.

He showed up on time and did a quality work. We have heat-reflective exterior. He and his workers drilled holes to fill the insulation in the walls and then replaced them. You couldn't even tell that anything had been done. They made sure that they cocked the pieces that they put them back on and the difference was not visible. It was just amazing. Energy wise, I would say, we average between 300 and 400 dollars for heating and we saved probably between 100 and 150 dollars a month in our energy bills last winter. There was one wall where the phone did a little bit of damage and that was due to the wall not being properly installed when it was being built. They pushed the wall out a little bit which ended up cracking where the plug was and then the wall was no longer flat. He then had someone cut the drywall out, replaced it, and fixed it and we didn't have to pay for any of it. He was a very honest man.

They worked much faster than I thought they would! They were on time, and nice guys to have around the house. If you are considering RetroFoam, I'd reccomend it. And watch the video. Its pretty cool and informative. I like the fact that my R Rating is higher than it would be with normal insulation. :)
Description of Work: I have an older house that had no insulation. They came and blew insulation into the attic and put insulation into the walls. My house has been GREATLY improved. The house now maintains temperature (it wasn't even close before, it was kind of like camping) and the sound from the outside is almost entirely deadened. Thank You!!!

I could not be happier with the work Chris and his team performed on my house. Except for places where the exterior was dirty, the patched holes could not be seen. After washing the walls, the work was totally transparent. Except for the sign in the front yard, there is no evidence of the work just looking at the house. My wife and I already notice the difference as the house does not warm up inside nearly as fast as it did before the foam was injected. I plan to keep track of the gas usage over the winter and post another review of the product. I also really appreciated the 0% financing. Chris and his team were a great to work with: kind, respectful, conscientious, and skilled workers each one. Neither Chris nor any member of his team solicited my comments here. They did an excellent job, and I always appreciate it when people do good work for me at a fair and reasonable cost. Many thanks to them!
Description of Work: The exterior of my house is stucco. They drilled holes in the stucco, injected the foam into the walls, patched the stucco, and then painted with paint I had matched to the original color specifications from when I painted my house eight years ago.

They took a pry bar to our home and it looks awful. They knocked a rock off our retaining wall. There was cursing used by the workmen that was audible inside while I was playing with my kiddo. Nails where sticking out of the trim where they removed it. There where many places where the trim was split or broken. An interior wall has bulges where the insulation pushed in. When I asked if they would be coming back to fix things they said "Um, we can" not "of course". They acted like it was a favor to return to repair the damage! When they did come back after three phone calls and no empathy, they did not address all of the issues. They also left without checking to see if the repairs where acceptable or calling back to see if we were satisfied. There are still pieces of trim broken and there are many spots where they didn't repaint where the paint was torn off. They did put the rock back and hammer in the nails. The paint was smeared on and they did not use the wood putty I provided. Oh, there's that too - I bought the paint and wood putty to repair it and they didn't use the putty! Do not use this service. I am very disappointed, my house is damaged and they could care less. The only solace I have is that I didn't do my whole house. At least half of it still looks good. In reply to the response by Retrofoam : This house has been well maintained and painted and there are no rotten boards on it anywhere. I will provide pictures of areas they worked on vs. what it looked like before. For them to imply this to make their work seem above board only furthers my point that they have acted as though all the work they did was satisfactory and have no desire to make it worth the $2400 spent. Their response really says it all.

Response from RetroFoam of Colorado
This is a 42 year old house with wood exterior. We have to remove boards to drill holes to install the foamed in place insulation. We went the extra mile by drilling a small one inch hole behind the horizontal trim boards. The wood on the exterior of this house has a lot of rotten boards from years of being exposed to the weather. Any time you do this type of work to a home this old; there will be visible traces of the work. This is stated in the contract under scope of work and conditions. Also stated is that we are not required to repaint the home. We do touch up painting if the paint is provided. This insulation will save the homeowners money over the years in energy cost saving. I do apologize for any foul language used by the workers.

We were very happy with the installation. The technicians were very professional and the process was performed with care. They removed long sections of siding, drilled holes for inserting the hoses, and pumped the foam product into all the exterior walls. After reattaching the siding sections, they did touch up paining, so that went they left, you couldn't tell they had even been here! Believe it or not, we were happy that there were 4 places inside where a small bit of foam came under a section of moulding, or in one case, through an electrical outlet. That meant that every available space was tightly filled and that outside air used to come right into the house in those areas. Now, everything is as snug as a bug in a rug. One thing we noticed is that our house is quieter now. We especially notice that we don't hear the mornig traffic. Yeah!

After installation of the insulation, I noted that the house was cooler in the afternoon. Also, I believe it is quieter. Many years ago, I had a house re-insulated, which did not include anything as comprehensive as the work the RetroFoam people did and I cost me a LOT MORE money than this.
Description of Work: My house is vinyl sided. The company removed a row of the siding, drilled a hole in the side of the home between every vertical stud. Then the installer, inserts a hose and injects non-expanding foam into the cavity until it is filled, which blocks all air leaks into the house.
