On time, on price, professional, neat, careful. A beautiful driveway.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a broken 16x30 driveway 4 inches thick, that needed fill as it was a little sunken. Used rebar, sloped it beautifully, did a neat job with good cleanup and the driveway looks wonderful. The price was definitely right and the guys waited to see if the rain came by during the cure, as they would have covered it. The whole job was done quickly and carefully. We couldn't be happier.

Called us back within a few hours to make an appointment for an estimate. Showed up exactly on time and spent a lot of time discussing options, clarifying what we wanted and answering all questions. The next day we had the estimate in writing and set a date for the pour. Spent the first day in the afternoon tearing out all the old stuff and gravel, and laying forms. The next day, showed up and did the pour and sealed the concrete. This family is the best and I would highly recommend them to anyone. So professional, friendly and efficient. They cleaned up everything after themselves and double checked all the work. They not only trimmed my tree for me they took my trash out because they were here on trash day. That is above and way beyond what they needed to do. The day of the pour we had a severe hail and rain storm. As soon as it slacked off a little, the owner was at our house making sure everything was okay. A week later, they came and checked it again. Amazing service! With an older home it is nice to know there are still excellent companies like this still around.
Description of Work: Removed old gravel driveway, removed old sidewalk that was part concrete and part pavers. Poured new driveway and sidewalk, all one piece and expanded the size of the sidewalk, sealed all concrete.

This is a very detailed and lengthy description, however very much worth reading if you are about to spend thousands of dollars on a project! Concrete work is expensive, period. BUYER BEWARE! I contacted Red Man Pours to bid on a project for removing and leveling a basement floor and removing and replacing a section of stairs that had become separated from the foundation / porch. The son (Joe Jr) came and gave a bid on both projects. I explained I needed the floor leveled for laminate or tile to be placed. We agreed that previously laid tile could be removed, but if I did not need to remove cabinets to acheive that it would be great. There was still furniture in the room at that time. Because of that, once the furniture was removed, I contacted Joe SR. and ask that he come to look at it so that the bid could be confirmed. I again explained that I needed a level surface to lay laminate or tile. Joe Sr came and confirmed the bid. I stressed to both of them that there was a previously installed interior French Drain that must not be disrupted. Neither of them ever got out a beam or level in my presence. Joe Sr. stated "No problem, this is easy." AFTER JOE SR CAME I STATED THAT I NEEDED A CONTRACT ITEMIZING THE WORK PRIOR TO WORK BEING INITIATED AND DURING 2 FOLLOW-UP PHONE CALLS WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD DROP IT OFF. IT WAS NEVER DELIVERED. The next contact I had was a call stating they were coming to do the demo. They came and sawed out the old concrete. (That went well except they broke a few things and threw them into the rubble without ever mentioning it.) I assumed they had removed as much concrete as they needed to in order to do the job correctly. Several days later they called and stated they would be coming on January 19 to pour the concrete. I took the day off from work to be there in case any issues came up. When asked to show me where the French Drain was prior to pouring the concrete the workers became very irritated and RUDE as the concrete was on the way. Joe Jr actually stated, "That's not my job". When I told him they would not pour until I had confirmation that it was there, he and his workers became angry and started digging and complaining until it was found. After they located the drain I said I hoped they understood as that was a VERY expensive repair to remediate flooding. All of the fabric covering the drain which keeps debris from clogging the drain had been destroyed and Joe Jr assured me that it was not needed. After the drain issue was resolved, they had never called me downstairs to ask any questions or indicate things were going any differently than discussed. After the concrete was poured and they were finishing up, I asked one of the workers how they had marked the floor to achieve a level surface. He pointed to ONE PIECE OF REBAR and said they marked the level on the rebar piece!! At that point I asked that they lay a beam and /or a level to demonstrate that it was level. I was shocked that there was still a heave as high as the original - with the beam laid out on the highest point there was and IS a height difference of about 3 inches on all sides surrounding the high point. I insisted that Joe Sr. be called over to inspect immediately. When I complained they actually argued that I did not request that the floor be leveled! I could not and cannot comprehend the absurdity of this argument! They said I asked for it to match the tile - even though they tore out over 1/3 of the tile that can't be matched. I still have to tear out the remaining tile to relay new tile. I was very stressed and Joe Sr. said "Well you can just paint it and we will take $400.00 off the job (out of ($4777). The concrete was already starting to set and Joe Sr. indicated they were NOT going to re-do the job when his wife asked him why it couldn't be leveled. After they left I realized I could have just filled the cracks myself for a much cheaper price than for the new uneven floor I just received. But now there were saw cut marks, remaining cracks and actual places where the concrete was not even filled in. I had to leave town for a few days and tried to contact Joe Sr. 3 times - during which he answered and said he could not talk. He then sent an email requesting payment. I told him the job was unacceptable and and that we would need to meet. He stated that he could not meet. I called again upon my return to town and Joe Sr again refused to speak to me. I again stated that the job was unacceptable and that we would need to resolve the problem before payment would be issued. The next call I received was from Pre Mix Concrete stating that they were putting a lien on my house for non-payment (for materials) !! I have asked them to come look at the job prior to doing so. I returned a missed call from Joe Jr.who stated that "his father wanted him to call and obtain payment". When I asked how we were going to resolve the problem he talked over me and refused to discuss fixing the job and stated that they would be placing a lien on my property as well and proceeded to hang up on me. The entire experience has been extremely stressful and pure H***!! Their workmanship was shoddy ( they left big gaping holes where the new stairs meet the foundation - where water can still get in and expand - which could have been made smooth with about 12 ounces of concrete!) They have been extremely rude and unwilling to negotiate in order to remediate the situation. I feel I now have nowhere to turn. I have photos showing the amount of heave left in the floor, saw marks and cracks unfilled and one patch that was never even completely filled with concrete. I have NO means of putting any covering on the floor that requires a level surface. Carpeting is unacceptable as I have pets. I can't even paint (their ONLY suggestion at a solution) as the surface in not even prepared for that - not that I see that as a solution. Based on the mostly good few reviews they have received,it appears that Red Man Pours is able to adequately complete smaller jobs. However, if there is even a small chance that any craftsmanship or accuracy is involved they prove to be totally incompetent and unprofessional and I recommend they be AVOIDED at high costs to YOU!!! They have refused all attempts I have made to discuss the problem in a professional manner.
Description of Work: Red Man Pours was commissioned to remove and level the floor in a nicely remodeled basement for the application of tile, wood or laminate. Basement had heaved by 3-4 inches at the highest point and had a few stress cracks. Provider was also hired to remove and replace cement stairs on front of house that had separated from the raised concrete porch foundation.

Response from RED MAN POURS LLC
#1 we have not been paid a dime. we are out concrete, dump charges, concrete pump, labor costs. contractors beware. get money up front #2 the owner said nothing of laminate flooring until the day of the pour. both times we came to bid, she was intent on saving the tile in the kitchen. to do the job right she would have to go further into the kitchen area to level the floor. she stated she didnt want to spend that much money. the floor had sunk on the south side and heaved in the middle. we tore out the concrete and leveled the floor on the three sides. on the interior she wanted us to match under the tile she had in the kitchen. to completely level the floor, the kitchen area would have to be removed. #3. the morning of the pour she came screaming at the crew that they had removed the french drain under the concrete. our foreman assured her they had not touched the pipe. as concrete and the pump were already scheduled the crew began shoveling the rock to locate the french drain. it was located aprox 20" below the subgrade. not even close to the concrete that was pulled out. #4 originally i had bid the job for $1300 more, but figuring it was winter we could lower the price. i have emails of the correspondence between us. no payment yet how can she put the cost as 4777 when she has paid nothing

Description of Work: I requested bids from 3 concrete companies, Redman was the first to respond to the bid, and asked the right questions. We were having a colvert put in and a driveway pored on the side of a mountain in palmer lake. Redman came out when they said they would, and spoke about the driveway not being level, worked with me on the best slope and amount of slope. They were not the cheapest, but I liked the questions and honesty. After winning the bid they showed up ontime and got it all done. They even came back ontime to cleanup, and ask if we had any issues and if the cleanup was good. Good company, I will use them again, with no hesitation.

Description of Work: Poured walkways & curbside platform. Pour was accomplished in an hour. One person remained to finish out the concrete and that took three hours. I considered it money well spent.
It went very very well. They were the best price of all the estimates I had.

Joe was happy to come out as many times as we needed to ask questions and make sure that my wife and I were on the same page. He also helped us create solutions to problems that we had no idea how to fix, such as dealing with the slab at the top of our stairs as well as the slab outside of our garage door. They came to do the work on a Monday morning. They quickly leveled the dirt and set their forms. It didn't take long for them to pour the concrete and do the stamp. The whole process took about 5 hours.
Description of Work: They poured a patio in my backyard roughly 12' by 30'. They also removed and replaced a 3'x3' in-ground slab at the top of my stairs and added a slope up to the patio which sits 4" above grade. The outside corners were rounded as we requested. The concrete was colored and they added a flagstone stamp which is much nicer than a broom finish.

This is a family-owner and operated company which I loved. Joe, the dad, did a great job estimating the amount of concrete needed and gave me his estimate when promised. He was very friendly and really knew his craft. His sons are the laborers and the did a fantastic job!! They were so nice, kept the site clean, and willing to make small aesthetic changes when asked. They were even nice enough to bend a culvert open that someone in the past had driven over and bent closed - I didn't ask them to do this, they offered when they noticed it. Just super nice guys that do a wonderful job! I will call them again in the future without hesitation if I need concrete poured. It's been over a year now since they did our job and the concrete still looks great. They extended our driveway since the existing one didn't meet up with the road, added a side area to the driveway to make it easier to turn around and moved back an existing basketball goal of the edge of the newly poured side area. Great job, great guys!

When I called for an estimate the owner came out and we discussed all the options and his recommendations. One of the nicest guys I have ever worked with. The day of the pour, the owner's son was the crew lead and the owner came out to check the job progress throughout the day. The crew worked hard from the minute they got to the house, there was no slowness about them at all! The whole crew was friendly and did not have any issues with me asking questions or watching them. (This is not always the case, I deal with lots of contractors for my job at a nearby federal installation so it was nice to have such a friendly crew...) The concrete pour went very well and the finishing of the concrete was exceptional, I could tell this crew cared about thier product. The crew did an outstanding job cleaning up the site. I would hire this company again without a doubt!
Description of Work: Red Man Pours poured my new15x25 concrete patio with radial corners. Crew did all site prep, lots of hand work, and removed old 4X4 Concrete stoop.

The company owner is unresponsive, unprofessional, and not concerned with the quality of the work being done. We have experienced damage to the inside of our home as a result of the poor work done on the exterior steps and porch. The debris and dust ruined half of the items we had in our storage area. The resulting "fix" that was attempted this week is shabby at best. I am extremely disappointed in this entire experience.
Description of Work: We hired Red Man Pours in summer 2011 to redo our front porch steps. Our house was built in 1949, and the front porch steps were crumbling, and a previous patch repair job was making the steps dangerous. We had three companies come in with quotes that ranged from $1,000 to $1,900. We went with Red Man Pours, based on the estimate. The job they were hired to do was to tear out the old steps and replace them with new steps. This would involve also removing metal/iron work railing and replacing it. We were told it would take less than a day. Underneath our porch is a storage space that adjoins our finished basement. When the company removed the steps and top portion of the porch, they also tore out the "ceiling" of this storage space, which was part of the home's original foundation. All of the concrete and concrete dust fell into our storage space. At the time we were storing a guest bed (which was covered in plastic) and many other items. We spent hours cleaning out concrete dust and ruined household items that had been stored. (We ruined one vacuum by trying to use it to clean out the debris.) They were unable to remove the steps with the machinery they brought the first day, and had to return with heavier machinery. By day 2, they had parked these construction vehicles directly on our lawn, ruining portions of the grass. We were told they would replace it with some sod. They even had a truck parked in front of our house with sod. However, they never replaced any of the damaged grass. On the final day of work (day 3) they left the broken metal railing in the front yard, along with dust and debris along the front sidewalk, entry way to the house and in the road in front of the house. They made no attempt to clean or remove these items. Finally, it rained within minutes of the crew leaving our house, leaving rain pock marks (dents roughly the size of a penny) all up and down the stairs. We called the company, concerned about the hard rain potentially damaging the exterior of the wet concrete. The owner came to our house, clearly angry at us, and proceeded to yell that he had done enough for us, and that this job had cost him way more than we had paid. He was unconcerned about the rain marks/dents all over the new porch steps. This year, during the recent hail storm in June 2012, we discovered that water was seeping in through the porch - the newly poured concrete section - into the basement. They did not properly seal or install the new concrete and water now pours in through the cracks into our storage area. We called again asking them to repair. They planned to come on a Monday at 2:00 p.m. and never showed up; nor did they return calls that day. We were contacted the following day (Tuesday), and they came over to fill the cracks with a sealant and added a concrete patch over the entry way. Within an hour of the crew leaving, we could see several large long cracks in the new concrete patch. We called repeatedly to get them to come back and look at the work and repair it. Two days later, they still will not return our calls.

This was the best experience from start to finish! I would recommend Joe to everyone and anyone. They don't make a move unless they double checked everything with you. They let us know what they were doing and even though we had some unexpected rain and the work was supposed to be completed on a certain day, they waited until the conditions were just right before they finished the work. You can't go wrong with this crew. The guys are great and the prices are extremely affordable.
Description of Work: Joe and his crew poured a patio, sidewalk, storage foundation and colored concrete driveway extensions. He would not perform the work until the temperature and/or conditions were perfect. They were on the job as promised, cleaned up after themselves and even followed up later on to make sure all was well with the job performed.
